Commentary from the previous post has morphed from the Throne Speech to the Canada-EU Trade deal, and now seems to be centering around massive discontentment with the Ontario Liberal Government – especially regarding their abysmal mismanagement of the energy file.
Lorrie Goldstein’s latest column is drawing a lot of attention related to the latter: Wynne’s electricity disaster.
There is little doubt that the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals make energy decisions based more on politics than sound economic policies:
If you’re getting the idea this is no way to run an electricity system, and that the Liberals are making their decisions on the fly and for their own political benefit, rather than on the basis of logic or common sense, then you understand their energy policies perfectly.
Exactly. And that is what is so frightening.
This government has no moral compass. And the NDP continues to keep the McWynnety Liberals in power in order to appease Big Unions and Big Green.
Andrea Horwath is Wynne’s policy adviser in all but name only.
It is a nightmare.
Perhaps we need a bit more outrage from those that foot the bill. A little more of this.
Let’s find our collective backbone and fight back together.

Ontario: yours to go backwards – Wind Concerns Ontario (This is a fantastic site):
Note in the story on atomic waste, the statement by Bill Gates: “If you could pick just one thing…to reduce poverty…by far you would pick energy.”
Ontario has picked energy alright–as a means to drive business away, and to impoverish its citizens.
I’ve posted this one before but it’s worth repeating – Ontario drives manufacturers away with overpriced electricity (Globe):
…Here, heavily discounted surplus power is routinely sold to neighbouring utilities in Quebec and various U.S. states, while customers at home face a steady diet of higher rates…
And then there’s this: Kathleen Wynne’s ‘open government’ launch marred by spelling mistake. From the Star!!!
