In a recent Star interview regarding his relationship with public-sector unions, Dalton McGuinty declared, “Nothing is beyond repair.”
I wish I could be as optimistic about repairing the damage he caused to the economic health of this province.
And just because he says he’s leaving doesn’t mean the gravy train runs out for this crew.
Things probably won’t start getting better until Ontarians shake off the complacency and start taking action.
I’m not sure if you’re lemmings or zombies out there, but wake up!!!!
Oh, and Happy Hallowe’en.

And continuing with the Hallowe’en theme – Green Zombie by Tom Adams (Financial Post). Adams has lots more at his website. It’s absolutely frightening!!!
Terence Corcoran: McGuinty’s dark secrets revealed – Financial Post:
…In sordid and alarming detail, the documents show that the McGuinty government’s cancellation of gas plants in Oakville and Mississauga are likely to cost as much as $1.3-billion, possibly more. Killing the Oakville plant and moving it to Bath will alone burden Ontario ratepayers and taxpayers with costs that exceed $1-billion.
These numbers — openly discussed in documents as part of the government’s legal negotiations with TransCanada Energy and other companies — are a far cry from the $40-million Energy Minister Chris Bentley recently announced as the cost of killing the 900-megawatt Oakville Generating Station…

I don’t think Dalton has quite achieved all his goals…
He is well on the way
McGuinty and other top Liberals to score a big severance

Yeah, calling all Lemmings and Zombies, wake up and smell the stench!
How do I put “Like” on that photo? Holey Moley, if that doesn’t say it all……other than his head is down and this Premier actually still thinks he is awesome and always will. That’s how he won.
O/T I hope you guys are all safe out there……we are getting some garbage here for Halloween but then we know it’s not ‘global warming’ or ‘climate change’ because we all remember it happening dozens of times during our childhood!
Have fun!
I can’t take credit for the photo. I’ve seen it all over the internet. In some versions it’s Obama instead of McGuinty.
Happy Hallowe’en from Brandon. Plus 3 with light winds here so lots of tricker treaters out tonight.
Don’t forget the benefit of revised daylight saving time rules, in effect for 3 or 4 years now. Now instead of having trick-o-treaters knocking at your door shortly after 5pm, they now don’t come until after 6pm, allowing you to have dinner ahead of their arrival… at least here in Toronto. I don’t know when the sun sets in Brandon except that after the equinox, the days are shorter the futher north you are so maybe they still show up at your door earlier than you’d like.
O/T:
Last week I posted about momentum running down on the robocall saga, that unless Maher /McGrgor could finger P Poutine, the story would peter out.
Tonight right on cue, Michael Sona showed up for an exclusive interview with CBC Evan Solomon. The gist of the interview seems to be that Sona is inocent, but that higher ups in the CPC must be implicated. On Power Panel Maher, Ditchburn and Solomon made the pitch that Sona was being “thrown under the bus” by the party.
Solomon mentioned the Un of Guelph ballot box and Sona’s involvement half a dozen times, without stating the poll was illegal under EC rules (though the votes counted anyway).
The timing of this interview and the presence of Maher on the panel seems suspicious to me. It allows the media party again to raise allegations of robocall illegal activities and connect them to the CPC.
I saw that too. Sona handled himself quite well I thought. Should be interesting to see what happens. I liked how Ian Capstick defended Sona later.
BTW I just came across this Huffpo interview.
post stuck in filter w/ link to Brian Lilley’s take on the Trudeau coronation.
You might want to check out Lilley’s Pad on the Sona story also. You may be surprised at what Brian has to say that skewers Sona.
Well Martin, I just saw Brian Lilley’s take on things and I guess I was a bit naive about Sona. You were right.
Story on his blog too.
I will thoroughly enjoy having the Ont. Libs joining their federal cousins as a 3rd party rump after the spring election… made even better if Hudak and the PC’s form the next gov’t, forcing the Media Party to not only deal with the pathetic state of their beloved LP but making note that in the process Ont has, for the first time in history, chosen to have conservative gov’ts at both Queen’s Park and Ottawa at the same time… and Ford in Toronto to boot!
Hi…
Totally OT, but important!
Wonder why our universities are hotbeds of leftist thinking, and why so many “university educated” voters are NDP/Liberal?

Appalling hardly describes this stuff!!!
(FWIW, Sort of Political is history. Had ’nuff.)
It’s sending a very ominous message as we watch the the big rats, one by one, follow the top rat off the SS Dalton. No bailing or swabbing the decks for them, let someone else do it, let the people pick up the tab.
Since every prominent Ont Lib is tainted by this scandal, who the heck will run for leader? Sandra P., because she bailed before the last election? I don’t think she is that known outside of Windsor.
Some objective estimates of the true cost of cancellation of the 2 GTA gas fired generation plants are starting to be published. Respected energy analyst Tom Adams had some estimates in the NP; the cost could be as high as $1.3 B. This makes a mockery of the original figures released by Chris Bentley. This is a staggering amount of money wasted, yet most of the msm appear uninterested in analyzing the documents the Liberals were forced to release before they ended the legislature session.

Joanne, I don’t know how my 4:30pm post got down here because I replied to Martin @10:02pm yesterday.
Having some technical problems it seems…
OT but watching Levant on The Source and he’s back to making predictions. Please stop this guy! lol
He predicted Brazeau would knock Trudeau’s lights out and was wrong. He predicted Wild Rose would not only win but flatten the PC’s and was wrong. In fairness, for Alberta’s election we all got mislead by the polls but he went well beyond what those polls had showed so he could only blame them for him having gotten his prediction wrong, not for his belief in an in WR obliterating the PC’s.
Tonight, he not only states that Romney will win but that the election is not even close — nothing more than MSM spin, he says.
Now I’m worried. lol
