About those ‘American Style Dirty Tricks’

Glenn Beck has a warning for Canada regarding the Robosmear – Watch out for the influence of George Soros and his minions especially now that there is a Conservative Majority in Canada (H/T Soccermom).:

Spin Assassin has more.

Certainly some of the allegations (especially in Guelph) needed to be thoroughly investigated, but the massive pile-on from the left to push for a public inquiry seems rather suspect.

JR has a novel approach – He is using Leadnow’s own form to fight back!

Since the previous post has passed the 300 comment mark, perhaps we can continue the discussion here.

Can A Person Living In Nipissing Get A Robocall In Quebec – Great investigative journalism by Paulsstuff!

Radical budget in the wingsMichael Den Tandt:

Each piece of the puzzle is intriguing. Taken in its entirety, it is breathtaking. It marks a big change in direction, both for the Harper government and for Canada. Will the ensuing debate prove important enough to push the opposition, and the government, past the daily cut-and-thrust of charge and counter-charge, over robocalls? My guess is yes. Small wonder the anticipation, on the government side, is building.

John Ivison: New Guelph robocall attacks Tories, listen to the phone message hereNational Post (with intriguing update). Yeah nobody is smelling like roses here. Thank heavens for John Ivison.

It positively disgusts me that the very people that have made it their life mission to diss the USA are the ones who appear to have their hand in the pockets of these meddling morons.
But then they seem to love Dictators, Bruts, Terrorists, Cheats and Liars, don’t they?

To sell out their own country in this way should be considered an act of treason and they all disgust me.
We need to cut off the heads of these snake organizations that disguise themselves as charities (and networks) with strong laws that strictly controls their fund raising facades and it needs to be done, yesterday.

  2. Richco says:

the bottom line is “the Conservative core vote is stronger than that of either of the other two main parties” (Herbert in the Star today on why this issue has NOT put a dent in CPC support).

Also, it seems to me that the neither the oppositions or the LLLM (lib.lovin’lemming media) have clued in to the fact that the more they spin smack about Harper and the Conservatives the stronger we get. Bob Rae helps us even more!

Let them fill their boots because at the end of the day, just like at the end of EVERY other scandal-of-the-month fueled by the Liberals and NDP those two parties haven’t got a party or a base of support to speak of.

Nothing in the next while is going to change that.

  3. Blame Crash says:

It’s more than just Soros, It’s the entire American Prog supremacist movement who are meddling in our affairs.
Let there be no question that this is their counter attack against Canada and the Harper Government regarding the Keystone and Gateway pipelines. They don’t like how are public displeasure at being rejected was a negative for their puppet Obama.

  4. robins111 says:

This whole episode goes a long way to exposing the insidious infestation of the neo-communists that apparently are the soul of the modern liberal (progressive) movement.
Its’ well past time that this outside interfaces in Canadian politics be exposed for what it is, plus legislation which forbids outside funding for advocacy groups. These groups should be forced to follow upgraded ‘lobbying rules’ which includes posting their backers. Kinda like the warnings on cigarettes…
I include the UN in this group as they have lost all credibility about 30 years ago.
We also need a petition to the government which demands an end to this interference, including seizing the assets of these idiots.

  5. Soccermom says:

Thanks Joanne. This stuff needs to get out there and circulate. People need to get angry about this and fight it.

Of course the left in Canada wants to nullify the results of the last election and have a do-over. Now they are getting big time help from the progressives to the south of us. Yesterday during Krista Erickson’s interview with Nycole Turmel, she was asked what outcome she wants to see from all of this. Turmel replied with something like “An inquiry, then we can GET ON WITH THE ELECTION”. Was that an English/French slip up or is that their nefarious plan?? Video at Sun News Network.

Also, re the link at The Blaze…Brian Lilley interviews some progressive in B.C. about this robocall thing. The guy denies American money is behind it. But he has a slip up when he inadvertently mentions “Move On”, (which is moveon.org , a well-known progressive agitator in the U.S.), then suddenly realizes his slip up and says “I have something in my eye”….it’s quite easy to spot on the clip…..

Oh yes, they’re working on this in cahoots. I think it’s time we conservatives begin joining hands from across the border to fight this disgusting menace. The American progressive left is all over this, and the oilsands. We need to fight back. NOW.

It’s like Beck says, progressives like democracy when it’s the result they want. If it isn’t, fight back and change the rules. That guy from B.C. that Lilley interviewed probably wants proportional representation. Yikes.

  6. Blame Crash says:

So now Canada’s Vichy Regime Opposition parties and their Toronto media collaborators are giving them cover and sustenance and are offering up Canada’s throat for evermore to these parasitic American Trojan Horsemen.
And for nothing more than a pat on the head from their American overlords.

  7. Bubba Brown says:

    Good Morning!
So another day looks like scandal #31 has shown up CBC is saying that 2,700 “late Applications were accepted in the TO riding that Conservative Joe Oliver won.
    He beat Liberal Joe Volope.
Supposing for a moment that is an accurate report.
    Elections Canada vets the voters.
Our advance poll in Qualicum was about an hour and a half wait on account of every voters address verified, very through.
If Elections Canada accepts voters without proper ID or verification it is on them, no one else.
They should not let people vote without checking them out.
If indeed this report is accurate, those “unregistered voters” could very well have been voting for the Liberal as well as the Conservative.
Again dark hints of improper behavior , Liberals are not only losers but sore losers.
The NDP and Liberals want Elections Canada to have more clout.
I see an article saying Conservatives are supporting the motion.
Perfect a chance to make some changes!
Careful what you ask for Opposition, you might just get it.

    • Jen says:

Ah yes, BB, I am waiting for the EC to investigate the ndp receiving money from the ‘American Unions’ during the last election; the monies sent by their voters to the ndp for Broadbent Institution.

    • Rich says:

Correct bubba brown, my wife and I volunteer to work as a DRO and Poll Clerk during the election, we are provided with the voter list which contains all current addresses by EC; it is up to the DRO & PC to verify identity of the voter through to forms of ID which has to be a driver`s license and or a credit card or utility bill. The license because it has a picture. This is done before a ballot is given out. If a particular voter is not on the register, he or she must be sworn or affirm by the Returning officer. During the vote the Political parties are allowed to send scrutineers to view how the vote is going, they intern will get a sheet indicating how the vote is going and contact their supporters from that list. Also, all RO, DRO PC and support must be a their corresponding poll station by 7:00 am to set up their station and cannot leave; they must bring a lunch. The DRO & PC remain after the polls close at 8:00 pm to tally and balance the ballots cast. Political parties have nothing to do with this process.

Here is one of those tweets that is particularly interesting:
“@Nicki_Doyle yeah but in agitate, educate, organize; we’re still at the ‘agitate’ stage. This is only starting to resonate and penetrate”

      • Louise M. says:

“Agitate, educate and organize.” That sounds very much like union lingo. Those are some of the steps unions would use to sign up workers prior to applying for bargaining agent status.

  9. Soccermom says:

looks like another comment of mine hit the filter!! (Joanne, what am I doing wrong??)

    • Joanne says:

Sorry Soccermom! The filter takes turns being mean. ;)

Yeah that one didn’t make any sense because there were no links. Strange. Anyway it’s out now.

  10. wilson says:

Progressives turn a legitimate protest into a farce, again.
Like with the hearings re: Northern Gateway Pipeline.

Seems the American groups are no longer satisfied with giving the Canadian progressives a (hidden) helping hand, they want to lead the charge.
Must be driving them crazy that they can get Obama to jump to their tune, but not PM Harper.

Liberals are making a huge mistake if they are co-operating on the sly with the Dippers on these smears.
Assuming the Vikileaks stuff was not a ploy discussed and approved by Liberal caucus.

I was surprised that Robin Sears was part of Leadnow, he’s played the ‘sensible’ Dipper role so well, I was fooled to think he was above this kind of crap.

Makes yah think Jack Layton was an A1 phony too.

    • Joanne says:

I was surprised that Robin Sears was part of Leadnow.

Also interesting that Pat Martin was distancing himself from Ian Capstick who also seems to be involved with Leadnow.

      • Louise M. says:

When P&P’s Soloman brought on the political panel last night or the night before (Flanagan/Capstick etc)…in his intro he spoke very quickly words to the effect “Ian Capstick…who made up with Pat Martin …. “. Nothing else was said on the matter.

  11. Gabby in QC says:

Those who are contesting the results of the election now are in effect contesting not only Elections Canada but also the results of the 4 judicial recounts that took place after the May 2 election.

    http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/05/24/recount-confirms-tory-candidate-ted-opitz-for-etobicoke-centre/
“Recount confirms Tory candidate Ted Opitz for Etobicoke-Centre
    Jessica Hume  May 24, 2011

A judicial recount Monday confirmed the election of Conservative candidate Ted Opitz in the Etobicoke-Centre riding in Toronto.
The Rob Ford-backed candidate received 21,644 votes, only 26 more than Liberal incumbent Borys Wrezesnewskyj, who had represented the riding since 2004.
The recount in Etobicoke-Centre was one of four ordered after the May 2 federal election, with the others in Montmagny-L’Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere-du-Loup, Nippissing-Timiskaming and Winnipeg-North.
Under the Elections Canada Act, a recount is automatically performed when the difference between first and second place is less than one-one-thousandth of the total votes cast in the riding. On election night in Montmagny-L’Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere-du-Loup, conservative candidate Bernard Genereux appeared poised to take the riding, though the validation process the next day confirmed a victory for Francois Lapointe, the NDP candidate whose win by a mere 9 votes gave the party its 59th seat in La Belle Province. In Nipissing-Timiskaming, Conservative Jay Aspin beat Liberal Anthony Rota by only 18 votes.
Unlike the other three recounts, that in Winnipeg-North was not an automatic recount. The recount in that riding confirmed the election of Liberal Kevin Lamoureux, who took 9,097 votes, 44 more than the number cast for NDP candidate Rebecca Blaikie.”

So, those questioning the results do not accept Elections Canada’s results nor do they accept the results verified by the judges presiding over recounts.

I notice that the ridings being contested are former Liberal ridings. I’m not aware of either Mr. Genereux (the Conservative losing candidate) or Rebecca Blaikie (the NDP losing candidate) now contesting those results.

Gabby Michael Coren just described a robocall received by a conservative voter in Guelph about Marty Burke who served his country Canada in the military the Air Force in 2000 he retired from the Air Force and joined Air Canada

  12. Calgary Junkie says:

    Welcome to Canada, George !

Jump right in to our progressive political swamp.

Frankly, I was getting tired of competing against the current mediocre political players in the anti-Harper universe. A guy like Soros will force me, and my fellow Canadian members in the VRWC (Vast Right Wing Conspiracy) to raise our game to a higher level.

It gets kind of boring, facing off against amateurs Trudeau, Turmel and Kady ‘Malley
    on a daily basis.

    • Joanne says:

      Well said CJ!

    • Jen says:

Soros can spin those fools in any direction he wants. Have you seen the media, man, they will sell their soul to anyone that will help them get rid of the CPC.

    • Bec says:

Indeed, CJ, well said! You certainly remove the fear about these crazy mess of maggots and put the fight into the spirit!

      • Calgary Junkie says:

From what I’ve seen so far, these meddling American liberal one-percenters are pretty un-informed about Canada–most importantly our federal FPTP parliamentary system, with it’s many Parties on the left, all hamstrung by our Party financing rules (thank you Chretien !). No Super-Pacs allowed up here.

Our Harper-led CPC team is going to be very hard to beat, even with Soros et al “helping” out the other side. That help can easily turn into a handicap, if voters sense that foreigners are unduly interfering in our democratic process.

  13. Jen says:

Well can you imagine all this happening even 10 years ago the only source of news the mostly corrupt Media Party.
Here is a quote from the late Larry Zolf of CBC.
“Harpers treatment of the Media is that of an ingrate.
    The Media made Harper.
The Media also made Trudeau and Mulrony.
The Media also made Trudeau and Mulrony suffer at the polls.
A similar fate awaits Harper if he dosen’t change his basic suspicion and hatred of reporters and “News” commentators.
Right now the PM urgently needs better Media relations if he wants to survive Minority status and go onto better things in the future.

Under the Andrew Coyne story in the National Post at NNW the liberal and NDP sheep are quoting that letter from the green party person as some kind of fact of corruption by the Conservatives. I knew it. Wonder if it will be on The national?

CBC is already using the wildrose cherry picked clips about the bad bad conservatives in Alberta. if no one knew what was going on, they have it set up as if its the Harper Conservatives.

CBC is so evil I will never trust anything they ever say again.

Boob Rae on CPAC is lying again and the Conservatives called him on it.

@PatMartinMP told me MB Premier wanted verification of my divorce.

The Winnipeg Free Press has an article on it

  34. Mary T says:

Stephen Taylor and BC Blue were quick on the uptake with posts re Dewar’s campaign manager getting access to Vic’s divorce files. Pat Martin supposedly said the Premier of Manitoba wanted to verify he was divorced or something. And lizzie may’s campaign manager issues an apology. Has said premier verified if Pat Martin was divorced and if he really lives in BC.
Will any of this have an effect to keep ndp supporters home instead of voting for Jack’s replacement or the leadership thingy.

    • Fay says:

The premier of Manitoba Greg Selinger digs up the dirt on Manitoba’s only federal government cabinet minister. I was disappointed that Winnipeg voted in another NDP Premier and now this just makes it worse.

  38. Martin says:

Just saw more of Roemary Barton’s schtick of the week, that robocall just had her so confused and it was all because the CPC would not admitt it was all their fault. Tonight she effectively called Del Mastro and the PM liars, because what they said was not sufficiently “clear” to her. John Ivison patiently explined to her that EC already had all the investigative powers required, and soon they would be putting the finger of Mr. Poutine. Tom Flannagan agreed and said that EC through a legal search warrant was able to track down Poutine, rather quickly. Barton blurted out that if true, the conservatives might say the case is solved and move on to other business, not getting to the bottom of it, ie. admitting it was them all along.
As a partisan dim witted “journalist” Barton is without peer, I can’t believe CBC doesn’t have smarter commentators avilable.

    • Bec says:

Well they don’t and it just goes down from that skill level.

Charlie Angus – A Parliamentary Bottom Feeder

    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ottawa-notebook/after-closed-door-debate-mps-call-vikileaks-perpetrator-on-carpet/article2364366/

“Mr. Angus told the committee he had not read what was published on Vikileaks and he has no interest in going through the sordid details of Mr. Toews personal life. But, he said, if Mr. Carroll testifies, it will be incumbent upon the committee members to go through the tweets to assess their veracity.”

Anybody with the IQ that matches his shoe size, can see through Charlie Angus, who spends most of his time on slurs, gossip and unfounded accusations, rather than looking after his constituents in Attawapiskat ,who were neglected for years before conditions became a real crisis, is operating true to form once again. For what it is worth, nobody is fooled by this insincere pronouncement, he may say that “he has no interest in going through the tweets” but obviously the remainder of his NDP caucus and NDP Premier Sellinger and a NDP policy analyst Thomas Linner, who is paid by the Manitoba taxpayer, wanted to know all the sordid details and spread them to the public as it was Thomas Linner who was sent to search out the details in the court records. Angus is now giving a backhanded threat to the committee that they will have to “go through the tweets to prove their veracity” – who is questioning the veracity – no one. In my opinion and I suggest most Canadians Charlie Angus machinations are fooling no one, and I am glad Gloria, that you exposed this politician for the bottom feeder he is, and he is naive and simple enough to not realize there are dozens of NDP politicians, who have also gone through divorce proceedings, and this is a game that any political party can play, if they want to carry political debate to a barnyard level.

You can’t really blame them for closing the Bluewater Centre at Goderich when there were 200 employees for 17 youth residents. How many more places are being run that this. We maybe need to close a lot more yet. This likely should be closed years ago….what a waste of government money.

      • Richco says:

        maybe so Ruth.

It’s still 200 out of work, out of local economy.
Oh, and I’ve been through the history of Bluewater and WHY it’s ended up that only 17 inmates were there. It’s because this government has been quietly shifting elsewhere thanks in large part to a VERY left-leaning judicial system and a gov’t that likes it that way. There’s WAY more to this than it being a waste of money. We could make this same case for our schools if that were the case. Why so many school board administrators when enrollment is in a free fall? But, we’re closing small schools to and shipping those students to “bigger” schools…just like they’ve been shipping the inmates.

Interestingly, those 17 inmates were relocated to a facility in Tim Hudak’s riding.

There’s a chance that with Harper’s crime bill going through that the facility might end up being an adult jail.

Then there’s the rumour that it’s going to be a place to manufacture wind turbines. Rumours are just that, but rumours around here have a weird way of materializing into reality.

    • Martin says:

Right, as the PMB on Dec 1 was defeated and the next one by Tim Hudak on wind turbines also will be. PMBs are futile except as a form of protest against a cornerstone of Liberal policy, renewable subsidized energy. The problem being that NDP is even more fervent towards wind subsidy farms then are the Liberals, and has no roots or support in rural Ont.
That being said, McGuinty certainly has it in for Huron Co. He sees it not as a viable agricultural centre, or tourist destination, or home of light industry, but as a purveyor of industrialized wind generation. Sad, but untill some other scandal, or issue comes along which NDP/PC can agree on, this destructive Liberal policy is set to continue.

Bob Rae’s strong performance as interim Liberal leader and a serious slide in NDP support in Quebec have helped shatter any illusion that the NDP’s hold on official Opposition is anything but tenuous.

The fact that Stephen Harper and not some progressive-friendly Liberal prime minister is in power has focused more minds on the urgency of achieving regime-change.

For many New Democrats, fear for the soul of the NDP is taking second place to fear for the soul of Canada under an open-ended Conservative reign.

It appears there are leaks from the EC investigation almost daily, despite the fact EC says it doesn’t reveal details about ongoing investigations, which leads me to believe certain media members have someone supplying them with the information.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if the investigation is actually pointing to another party and Kady is doing a pre-emptive attempt to tone down the anti-conservative blather before all the details are made public. the entire Pierre Poutine thing sounds like some U of G preppy who thought he was jsut a bit too smart.

Then they said Fantino said there is no second elections bank acct…this was followed up by the CBC saying they wern’t saying an “elections” bank acct, BUT a bank acct. Then they moved on to say 9 Conservative candidates got money from Fantino. The three women were sitting around the kitchen table looking at bills, receipts?? Then they said a Cons said they are x-conservatives and they left acramonious(spelling?) The report ended by saying..”of course we won’t find out about this untill the expenses are filed”. WTF….
