I wonder if my Jan. 6 post had anything to do with Christina Blizzard’s column this morning – Grits put out the trash.
Blizzard is following a similar theme of chastising Dalton McGuinty for apparently taking full advantage of the Prorogation smokescreen to attend to some nasty business (and the public and media for giving him a free pass), but she also wonders if the publicly-preoccupied Christmas period had anything to do with the timing:
While Prime Minister Stephen Harper was being soundly berated by critics as weighty as The Economist for “proroguing” — or ending the parliamentary session — just what was Premier Dalton McGuinty up to?
Funny you should ask.
While everyone was telling Harper he was a naughty boy, McGuinty was being far more sneaky — and getting away with it…
She then goes on to detail his mischievous antics:
- Dec. 22 – axing of the fall report card.
- Christmas Eve – former head of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp Kelly McDougald, gets a settlement almost $750,000.
- Undisclosed settlement with terrorized Caledonia family just before New Year’s.
But of course Dalton gets a pass because he is a Liberal, right?
Blizzard blames McSlimey for using the Christmas season to do his dirty work:
…Meanwhile, the government managed to send out press releases trumpeting their Jan. 1 tax break. But no release on Caledonia.
Look, McGuinty isn’t the first politician to dump unpopular news when he hopes no one is looking. He won’t be the last. Journalists call it putting out the trash.
And you always put it out when no one’s looking: Late Friday afternoon. Christmas Eve. New Year.
Meanwhile, we’re all over Harper. Why? Because he used a legitimate procedural instrument that governments use all the time. I expect the Liberals will prorogue this session at Queen’s Park soon — and no one will blink. Nor should they.
What’s galling is when governments try to bury important issues. It’s like looking for the dime in the Christmas pudding. You have to watch carefully, or it will choke you...
So not only do we apparently have two-tier policing in Ontario but it also seems that most of the Canadian media and many virulent activists also have a double-standard when it comes to holding politicians to account.

And if anyone knows of any Facebook groups trying to hold Dalton McGuinty to account, I would very much appreciate that information. Thanks.

Ontario Liberals narrow lead over PCs: poll – Ottawa Citizen
OPP chief Fantino to face criminal charge - Citizen

Maybe someone should remind that little Honey that started the Facebook page and the rallies for Jan. 23rd that she should focus some of her attention to Ontario too.
She was on t.v. last night and said the one big rally against our PM would be at McMaster University in Hamilton. Dalton deserves fair and equal treatment.
That’s right Ruth! We don’t want Dalton to feel ignored.
“She was on t.v. last night and said the one big rally against our PM would be at McMaster University in Hamilton”
Something smells..
Iggy annouces “University Tour”
Iggy tells us Canadians want an alternative
The media become cheeleaders for a facebook group telling Canadians that we are MAD over this and the FB group is proof.
Jack telling those on a taped phone call to use social media, to start rallies, to use the media to give credence to the Coalition.
Iggy and Jack are out of the country on this one so it doesn’t appear like it comes from the “Coalition”
Gilles is laying low
The rallies on the 23rd will be full of students (cause they have them on campuses – organized by those that Jack tried to get to organize last year) and the media will point to them as evidence that Canadians want change.
My take – on Jan 25 – when Iggy has told his MP’s to get to work – the Coalition rises and asks the GG to let them govern.
I agree AG, something does smell.
I have two grandchildren attending Mac University in Hamilton too.
They are very much against Stephen Harper. Do all the profs teach Liberalism.
does anyone see the old war room ass-kicker at work here ? this is SO him – well one recalls his diversion of all the compliant media during the last Ontario provincial election to faith based funding expansion to the neglect of all other issues – is he issuing his latest orders to the lazy, incompetent, lieberal journalists that so dominate the MSM ?
Anyone sitting outside the politics of this country can only deduct the Liberals own the media, the University campuses are infested with the cult of Leftism with a common denominator, they hate all things Conservative and most specifically the present Prime Minister.
How did Stephen Harper get elected assuming all this is true?
The fact Ignatieff is away from his beloved home and native land during this conjured up crisis by the his bunker boys and their media arm tells us he’s really not in charge. The idiots will be spurred on by polling done by Liberal friendly pollsters at just the right time to coincide with this phony, trumped up crisis which has even INFESTED Facebook.
Can anyone recall a time when there was such disrespect for a Prime Minister elected by the people as per our democracy? Such desperation for power makes one wonder just how LUCRATIVE power really was for all those who involved in the constant display of gotcha games and lies.
It’s time to call and election when they reach the lowest point ever in politics, accusing the Forces of war crimes and the government complacent of same. We have to be the laughing stock of the world with all these juvenile maneuvers by FOOLS.
It would appear that the media has almost orchestrated this outrage. Yes, I have become that sceptical and disappointed in a medium that I once respected.
I would suggest that perhaps the Ontario residents require a full term tutorial from Albertans on how to boot their Provincial government’s butt to the curb.
Ignatieff @ McMaster
Where: McMaster University Convocation Hall – 1280 Main St. W, Hamilton (Google Map)
When: January 13th, 2010 at 2:30
Guess Iggy will soon be back from holidays to start his University tours.
Ontario residents are in for BIG trouble, well no, we’re already there. We’ve been legislated in almost every facet of our lives, our homes are metered on everything but the air we breath and our energy, hydro, water bills will be priced out of reach for ordinary earners and pensioners on fixed incomes.
Why are we not calling for McGuinty to be ousted? He’s proven incapable of handling the affairs of this province. Putting millions into Greenie stuff and shutting down hospital beds is bloody insanity. Where is the Opposition?
Could the opposition parties refuse to sit in the Legislature with the McGuinty Liberals? They may as well stay away, he has full and free rein. At least they could make a statement by staying away, people may take some notice of exactly what a colossal mess this person has made and is continuing on the same path. We’re being destroyed, our quality of life is severely affected by decisions he’s made and is still making and the people gave him a majority a right to destroy over one issue of little importance in the grand scheme of life.
OH…MY…GOD..CTV sinks even lower in the slime.Fife just now, makes the comment that PMSH made announcement to prorogue on same day that news of deathe of 4 soldiers, and reporter hoping it would go somewhat unnoticed. He tries to ‘soften’ this by saying’we have to be careful here’..but there it is folks..the allegation is now out there, and how do you put the toothpaste back in the tube?un-frikken-believable.
BTW,I think PMSH and the Cons backroom should be putting together a really well done info-mercial,with no negativity, stating why this was done, and to present clear plan for direction the Gov’t wants to take going forward…and buy airtime to combat all the msm garbage.
Did “she” mention she is a paid member of the NDP and is on an NDP board somewhere. The tape is being followed to a T.
And Layton is “away” to appear innocent.
And the guy that started all this is from the UofA.
I now feel much better, as they never get a large turnout of students at the polls.
We will see the caliber of lib/ndp supporters at the rally. I expect a repeat of Copenhagen.
Or maybe those idiots that climbed the roof, or caused a problem in QP (again with layton behind the the farce. Remember the fake blood) or maybe those that destroyed our Flag in London.
One of my suggestions re Hunter’s post. Charge and jail all protesters for damage and causing a commotion, and no more funding for lawyers for them.
Wait for the new cbc/media plan. Talk about how PMSH wants and election, and will probably get one, but it will be Iffy’s fault. Don Newman is leading the charge with his column today. Of course he has said he would be back to cover said election, (when he retired)
He does tell one truth, the shut down is 4 wks, not four/three/two months.
Guess he hasn’t heard about the consultations JF is asking for re the budget, (See Hunter’s post) and loses it when he says Drummond and others should be consulted.
The cbc/fb crowd will force Iggy to go for an election.
PMSH against the possible? coalition.
What else did he mean when he said Canadians want an alternative. And I firmly believe they had something planned during the Olympics and PMSH called their bluff.
Just glanced at NNW and again, 2600 jobs lost in December. When are those “experts” going to tell the truth, construction jobs are always shut down during the winter months. Never made the news before, under a liberal govt.
Then there is Minority Dictatorship.
And who would have thought one word would cause the PM to lose support-proroguation.
They are pulling out all the stops, lets hope they fall on their face. I would love a majority, just to see how many of them would have a stroke.
I wouldn’t sign onto that Facebook thingy, likely find out after that some retribution is visited upon you. just sayin’. that’s how these kinds of people operate. if un-elected liberal senators are pushing to over-ride the Parliamentary committees, currently suspended by prorogation, there’s nothing stopping them from considering over-riding just about anything, your rights, privacy acts, freedom of association, or your free speech and assembly.
something does smell right now. these guys are playing double-dare-ya with our Parliamentary system.
Bec: The only way Alberta got rid of governments they didn’t like was wait for an election, provide an acceptable alternative and vote the incumbent out. It isn’t rocket science. So, how long until election time in Ontario? Your alternative seems mighty quiet these days, so unless you want to take to the streets, guess you’ll have to wait, eh? speaking of which, given the above that might be the modus opernendi of the 62 Percenters right now. Can’t seem to muster up a “legal” way to take over, like an election. I mean, Jack! did say “…democratic process, yeah, what about it?” And, right during the Olympics, too. They think that they can get away with it. the only thing stopping that is parked in A’stan right now.
I’d be asking Gilles, what’s in it for him to stay outta sight right now and I’d especially be asking the 62 Percenters irght up front if they plan to hold elections anytime after they seize power?
OT, but the batmobile anti whaling ship has sunk. Even Bill Hemmer, Fox said it looked like the batmobile. So, there is good news out there. All six crew members rescued, but not by the japanese ship it rammed. Now they are using a helicopter to harass the whalers. Careful, it might get shot down. Watch for new calls for donations.
I’m afraid too many Canadians are unaware of the facts when it comes to politics. Listening to CJAD at 4:30 this morning is a good example.
The talk show host and his callers displayed an appalling ignorance of the facts. Twice, the host stated that the PM had shut down the Parliament for three months.
He said the PM did it so he could attend the Olympics every day. He stated that the PM was running away from the detainee issue, that he was burying his head in the sand, etc, etc.. And the Montreal callers, and others listening in, are sucking this up.
One caller said he was unaware that Parliament had been shut down in the past. The lack of knowledge spewed by too many of these callers is unbelievable.
One caller who stated the “real” facts why the PM made his decision was abruptly cut off. The host proceeded to say that there is a bad apple in every barrel, that you have to remove the rotten apple.
In other words, he was referring to the caller as a rotten apple. Why? Because the caller had stated he was proud to have Stephen Harper as his PM. Wonderful, isn’t!!
The host kept saying Harper this, Harper that. So much for respect. This host simply parroted the CBC line of BIAS and BS!!
I believe it’s important to confront and illuminate the issues in order to bring to the public’s attention the falseness that pervades our society.
I don’t think the PM or anyone knew of those tragic deaths when he made his announcement. But, what does truth have to do with anything the cbc/ctv puts out there.
Notice he did not announce his Senators on Jan 3, like predicted, due to the repartriation of those troops.
Kady O M is leading this with the blessings of CBC. Didn’t Obama use the university students to get his message out. It is common for professors to give credits for grades if they attend lectures and political activities.
The National Press Gallery is continuing their petty war against Stephen Harper and appear to be very threatened over the Senate!!
“OH…MY…GOD..CTV sinks even lower in the slime.Fife just now, makes the comment that PMSH made announcement to prorogue on same day that news of deathe of 4 soldiers,”
Now isn’t that interesting…last night I heard someone facebook supporter interviewed and he said EXACTLY the same thing….
This is smelling even more….feed the media talking points and the media – in their hate for Stephen Harper are only too willing to comply.
The “alternative” is coming – Mark. My. Words.
Bring the election on. Elections Canada should force Iffy to renounce the Coalition before he can fundraise as a separate party.
We know the true bias of Newman, nothing new there. There is far too much misinformation being spewed and passed off as fact in regard to prorogation and the PM needs to come out and give some factual information.
The present opposition in the HOC are not interested in contributing constructive, their behaviour is a disgrace to this country. The media is playing a game any banana republic would be proud of, they’re interfering in the politics of the nation by taking a side.
The MP’s will accomplish far more in their ridings than playing dirty games at our expense in the HOC.
I agree with Sammy, we need to get some info out there and fast. I’d be happy to contribute for such an effort.
It’s obvious the opps and the MSM are up to something. They would do anything to unseat this PM and his government. They know he’s doing a good job. They’re jealous and they won’t give him credit. They don’t want the public to know what a good job he’s doing.
This whole prorogation is just a red herring to get people riled and create a diversion to whatever they’re scheming.
I have a feeling they are going to try another overthrow of this government.
We have to consider them dangerous and be ready.
BTW. I think we need to have an election to clear the air and get that majority and maybe the MSM and the opposition will cool their jets for four years. That, I think, is what they are terrified of. They are acting like cornered rats and are getting rabid.
It would be so refreshing. I am so sick and tired of the scandal of the week, Harper evil, yada, yada, yada.
You can’t turn your TV news, the radio, open the newspaper anymore without something negative about the government and nothing positive. That’s why I quit watching and now have my TV on Foxnews.
Did you happen to notice as well, that when Iggy speaking to media,Fife broke in to tell us,that Iggy doing a ‘really smart thing here’..msm,telling us what to think! CTV has become truly despicable..and I didn’t think it possible, they are now worse than cbc.
With the latest nonsense being played in the Senate perhaps the PM better get the empty seats filled pronto. Colin Kenny and the Liberals are going on a last hurrah before they lose supreme power in the senate. Link at Bourgue.
I know that I am sounding like a broken record but by watching these morons on TV, we only boosts their ratings.
With the announcement by Canwest this morning re bankruptcy protection (National Post)clearly the Canadian networks have decided that their preferred market is the political left. Eventually, that will bite them but currently they are ALL fighting for their lives…..
The political pundits, HAVE NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT, that imo is why this has been ramped up to the frenzy. Fife’s comment, is despicable and that is one of many reasons that I will not watch.
On the subject of a coalition, the current prorogation would not permit that action. This current set of losers would have to reject the Speech from the Throne and then we would be into an election.
Re: Fife’s lame contention that Harper announced the prorogue to cover up the deaths of Canadians in Afghanistan. Think again and this time think with your brain instead of your Liberal spindial Mr. Fife.
Joanne, if we go back to the discussion on this very blog to that day, you’ll see that I posted a post saying that for the first time in a long time that day I tuned in to CTV around the 4:00pm hour. The death of the Canadians in Afghanistan had been announced and was all over the newswires at least one-hour earlier(don’t forget the time difference between Canada and Afghanistan). What did CTV and Fife’s lead their newscast with? Bob Rae was in studio ready to bitch and complain about how the prorogue was a diversion from the shoe-in-the-head Afghan prisoners.
Get that. CTV thought that what Bob Rae and the Liberals had to say was more important than honouring our war dead like the other networks and webs were doing.
I remember this clearly because I wrote to CTV what an insult that was to not just our soldiers but to Canadians. I shared that letter with you all here.
CTV covered their faux-pas over the next few hours by switching gears with Rae and getting him to make some superficial comment on behalf of his party about the loss of the 5 Canadians. I mean why waste him seeing as though he was in-studio.
Ruth & AG – Folks here had made the link between the Facebook Follies and Iffy’s “I Love Myself, Just LOOK at Me” University tour, last week. We had their number.
Guess Canada can go with the alternative to PM after all? OR can they REALLY???
I too suspect WK’s Invisible Man tactic with McGuinty. It DID work with the FB stuff. Christina Blizzard was on the panel last Saturday on Focus Ontario where the rumour was dropped about McGuinty proroguing Ontario Parliament to take the heat off him and his gov’t for, well…just about everything.
Hope and Fear have been buried in the left-liberals’ AGW-PET Cemetery.

“Climategate: Here Comes Courage!
(Is climate catastrophism losing its ‘politically correct’ grip?)
by Robert Bradley Jr. from masterresource.org
January 4, 2010
The times are changing in the wake of Climategate. And more is to come as the polluted science embedded in the email exchanges gets reviewed by talented amateurs and pros alike on the blogosphere (see Climate Audit, Roger Pielke Jr., and WattsUpWithThat, in particular).
Given time, the rethink will go mainstream. Scientists are truth seekers at heart, but an entrenched mainstream of climate scientists–so many of them friends and political allies–will need to be nudged out of their denialism.
Old voices are challenging their ‘mainstream’ colleagues, and new voices are coming forth. I have seen this clearly here in Houston (examples below), and I expect it is happening elsewhere.
Consider what Andy Revkin, the recently retired climate-change science writer at the New York Times, told the public editor at the Times regarding Climategate: “Our coverage, looked at in toto, has never bought the catastrophe conclusion and always aimed to examine the potential for both overstatement and understatement.”
Sounds like the Times will report both sides of the issue now, rather than just trumpet alarmism as it was prone to do in the past (remember William K. Stevens?). Joe Romm at Climate Progress (Center for American Progress) is furious at this development, but just maybe over-the-top Joe has himself to blame for getting Revkin and the like to want to report on both sides more than ever before. And Romm himself is now considered damaged goods by the Left, thanks to the four-part expose by the Breakthrough Institute.
Climategate, in short, is making quite a difference. But much more courage is needed.”

Well said Richo!!! But as we all know the MSM cannot be held accountable anymore. Beverly McLaughlin and the suprume court ruled that Journalists are above the law. We need Fox news in Canada to hold these guys to account. Fox is the only sheriff in town!!
O/T: Need proof that too many Canadians are uninformed and easy to manipulate by a dishonest media blitz?
63% of Canadians believe that parroguing parliament is undemocratic.!!!!
The fact that it has been done 105 times in our short history and the fact that this session ran the pretty normal 105 or more days is entirely unreported and out of mind.
I find it astounding that Canadians can be led by the nose by a propaganda blitz- orchestrated by the taxpayer funded CBC on behalf of the Liberals.
Astounding- and also very scary. I think a counter Conservative ad blitz is the only thing that can stem this gross misrepresentation and blatant media control of the message. Our fellow Canadians are being duped.
P.S. – If we need proof of just how the official opposition works “democratically” and for the good of all Canadians(BARF-O-RAMA) there’s a little thing known as Hansard that should remind us all of just what that means to Mr. Ignatieff and his bubble-gummers.
What the PM did besides prorogue Parliament is do Canadians a favour for 15 days.
If any of the opposition could deliver me 15 days straight, when Parliament was in session of the Leader of the New Bloc Official Democratic Liberal Party’s commitment to democracy, Kady O’s Pied Piper of the Pubescent Set might hold water.
BUT IT DOESN’T
If a small town citizen like me can turn to Hansard and not find 15 days of the Opposition doing what’s right for Canadians than so too can the rest of Canada….and yes, any savvy media types tuning in.
Off topic, but humorous,

It looks like all the left wingers may have trouble getting seats on air canada during the upcoming election as Air Canada has been ordered to provide “nut free zones”…
What will Don Martin do, the Calgary Herald placed in bankruptcy protection.
Gee, when will these leftist papers, columnists etc get the message, there are more of us than them that read papers. (used to read) And we don’t like what they are spewing.
When PMSH gets his majority, will Fife, Craig, Giggles and a few others take retirement.
After all those years of covering up liberal corruption, telling outright lies re PMSH, they will never get to be GG or a senator. They shouldn’t have drank the koolaide.
During the last election conservative blogs were something just starting. But, next one will be different, every idiotic stmt by a lib candidate will be on the net within minutes.
Get ready, we have to attend every townhall candidate meeting, we have to meet them at the door and tell them why we wont support lib/ndp/green. Don’t just slam the door in their face. The longer you can keep them in your house, blasting them, the less time they will have to meet others. Take their flyers, read them with the guy/gal. ask them to explain what they say, and most of all, ask them if they would join a coalition if elected.
They would be so surprised and shocked if we actually questioned them and they couldn’t answer.
I take it, from Harper’s interviews, that Flaherty is going to be requesting feedback from Canadians about which gov’t programs should be cut back. What I’m hoping, is that there will be a massive request for Flaherty to eliminate the $1.95 per vote subsidy.
Before Harper can use that poison pill, we will have to give Flaherty political cover in the way of a groundswell of support.
So two can play this social media game. When CBC et al cover the anti-prorogue protestors, lets have twice as many anti-$1.95 protestors out there. How will Kady spin that on her live blog ?
This is a great opportunity for us to use
So two can play this social media game. When CBC et al cover the anti-prorogue protestors, lets have twice as many anti-$1.95 protestors out there.
Great idea, CJ!! If anyone starts a Facebook group like that please let me know and I’ll give it some free publicity.
I agree – and write in to the fed hot line on the future budget, demanding an end to CBC 1 billion annual bailout, plus end political party subsidy – maybe if a flood of these, the ceeb might take note
The “alternative” is coming – Mark. My. Words.
Alberta Girl, I think you may be right on the money there. But I can’t imagine Iffy in charge of the Coalition.
I wouldn’t trust anything these MSM scribblers and talking heads say or do. They have an agenda. Let us never forget that fact. The sad thing is there are still too many sheeple out there that take what they say at face value. We must inform the public. We must talk one on one with those we come in contact with and inform them.
Wow Stephen Harper on CBC in New Brunswick, so far CTV ignoring this feed!
ReBuffy Iffy slays Iffy.
It gets better.

I am sick and tired of these crap FB idiots – so I posted this on my wall – maybe if lots of us post it on our walls, it might make our “friends” stop and think about things.
_______wonders why when Jean Chretien prorogued parliament FOUR times during his tenure and when those other prime ministers prorogued parliament 105 times since confederation; we never had any outrage? Oh, never mind…I know the answer.
AG – I read some comment from a troll somewhere that it was o.k. for Chretien to do it because he had a majority. I fail to see the logic there. A Minority PM has more at stake and can easily be tossed out by a vote of non-confidence.
Who can start a Facebook Group that states:
Canadians to End the 1.95 per vote Taxpayer Subsidy to Federal Political Parties
I don’t know how but if someone does it I will promote it.
However, it will probably not get front page and leading news in the MSM. Nor do I think Kady of CBC blogging fame will link to it. Just not a “Liberal” enough proposal.
I know Joanne – those comments about Chretien having a majority are all over the blogs and FB – it is like they have “talking points”….LOL
Hunter has a link to the page to give your ideas of what the budget should contain, and where you think cuts should be made. 200 word maximum for each area. I hope every one says cut the 1.95/vote, all ngos, and no bonuses for head honchos of govt depts. Also, cut charitable status for Suzuki.
And JC did it for 125 days, with a majority, so he wouldn’t have to face Paul Martin in the HofC. Where was the outrage.
OT-Ludwig arrested for bombing pipelines in BC. Townspeople felt sympathetic to his cause and refused co-operation with police. (bet they all signed up for the anti-harper FB)
No liberal MPs will attend any Olympic events, as iffy says they will not work with half a team. Keep your eyes out and post pics of them somewhere else than Ottawa during those days.
Only lib mps from BC can get free flights home, so any others coming better pay their own way.
We need moles at all the hotels, bars and events to prove they are there. Oh well, let the conservatives get the media coverage, and we will start a FB page, Wish you were here to celebrate with Canada.
Underwear bomber pleads not guilty-can’t wait to hear his lawyers defense.
AG, I’d do that on my page but I have kept my friends limited to under 50 (do you want to be my friend lol) and they already agree with my politics however I LOVE the idea of a push to rid the parties of the 1.95 subsidy. That could fly!
Just my 2 cents….
Perhaps the fact the PM with a Minority was able to prorogue is a reminder to the Opposition just how feeble they are. The Liberals are as good as leaderless, in no fit state to go to an election and they know it. All they can do is what they are doing, spreading misinformation, wailing and gnashing their teeth on the perfectly legitimate act of proroguing and aided by the MSM who are dredging for all the so-called”experts” they can pull up who have ties to the Liberals.
Interestingly, I was trying to follow Lorraine’s suggestion and found this at the bottom of the group creation page.
Note: groups that attack a specific person or group of people (e.g. racist, sexist, or other hate groups) will not be tolerated. Creating such a group will result in the immediate termination of your Facebook account.
Now, shouldn’t all the hate messages on that pro prorogation page result in termination?
Maybe Lorraine, it’s a online petition we need rather than a Facebook page. That would be something we could present to the Finance Minister when he is wanting budget input.
Alberta Girl says:
January 8, 2010 at 4:07 pm,
“Now, shouldn’t all the hate messages on that pro prorogation page result in termination?”
Don’t hold your breath! I think Ruth is right, a petition would be more influential than Facebook.
Jo — Some of your readers already know but for those who don’t, check out my latest post here: http://www.justpolitics.info/2010/01/08/prorogation-only-starts-jan-25th-pm-harpers-budget-consultations/
The PM said today that parliament is STiLL in recess until January 25th at which time the prorogation only kicks in THEN. What a pile of manure the media has been feeding us. I am furious. A made up story!
Thanks for mentioning that Sandy. Wow. Talk about trying to distort the facts.
I have mentioned that fact several times and have called cbc and other media to quit lying. Especially the number of days involved. 22 sitting days, as they don’t sit on Fri-Sunday.
PMs interview with cbc to be repeated tomorrow night on one on one.
Still waiting for a reply from SQ, at Hunter’s re this lie.
Hey, will Don Martin have to look for a job soon, with the Calgary H. in bankruptcy protection and they must cut costs.
MaryT, I’m sure The Red Star will hire Don Martin.
Don Martin has been sucking up to CBC for years. I am sure he is hoping CBC lets him in after he runs the torch through Melville Saskatchewan!!!
A heads up — Hunter has agreed to do a “Truth Ad” YouTube about the “prorogation myths.” She needs us all to look for video and related links tomorrow that she can use. Just leave the links at her site. She said she could get it done this weekend if we all helped her out. Even if she gets duplicate links, that doesn’t matter.
For example, Mr. Volpe going on about being locked out of Parliament. Goodale in Arizona. Last night Susan Delacourt was on the At Issue panel and actually made the statement that this prorogation was longer than Chretien’s 80 days. No doubt, Kady has made statements, even if she not on video.
This has to be a group effort for it to work!
What gets me is the media are supposed to be qualified journos, isn’t factual information the most important criteria? Why would the likes of Mansbridge sit there and let wrong information pass by? Delacourt saying this prorogation, which hasn’t started yet is longer than 80 days is outrageous, it’s spreading a lie which seems to be the agenda of the opposition. I include the media in the opposition, they are their trumpets.
Liz perhaps we could try complaining to the CBC ombudsman or the CRTC?
Tom Clark says the prorogation is three months which will take you from the date of the supposedly prorogation date which is this Jan 25 to April 25th.
Remember, the prime said from Jan 25th to March 3rd.
Also remember that the mps are still on Christmas break til Jan 25 the date the ended date or prorogation begins.
