Speak for yourself, Dalton

From Sean Mallen’s McGuinty slams Harper for Copenhagen results:

“I think it was a missed opportunity for us as a people, as a species, frankly,” said Mr. McGuinty, in an interview taped Monday for the Global Television program Focus Ontario.

Don’t you ever, ever insult us again like that Dalton.   You are a breed unto yourself.

Update:

Some of my fellow Blogging Tories seem to be as outraged as I am.

And let us not forget Lorrie Goldstein’s “Pay No Attention To That Man Behind the Curtain” Flatulence Award presented to Dalton McGassy:

To Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, for having his environmental thingy in Copenhagen lambaste Stephen Harper for not doing enough to lower greenhouse gas emissions, days after Ontario’s environment commissioner lambasted McGuinty for not doing enough to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Liberal.

I sincerely hope that we as a species do not elect Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals ever again.

Tuesday Update:

Erwin Gerrits has come up with a way to meld the subject matter with the season – The Twelve Gifts of Dalton.

Alberta didn’t deserve Copenhagen lashing - Don Martin:

Now comes real climate change that’s desperately in need of a post-Copenhagen fix — a move to warm up the abruptly frosty relations between energy-producing and consuming provinces.

Ontario and Quebec had promised federal Environment Minister Jim Prentice in advance they would refrain from badmouthing others, but they were barely off their oilsands-fuelled jets before they started spewing “embarrassment” at the oilpatch in general and Alberta oilsands in particular….

And I am ‘embarrassed’ that Dalton McGuinty is currently the Premier of my province.

Wednesday Update:

A lot of legal mumbo-jumbo here but I see it as a plus for both the new and old media – Ruling a win for press freedom:

…Journalists or Internet bloggers who are sued for libel or slander will no longer have to prove in court the absolute truth of every allegation in a report. Instead, they can rely on the new defence if the issue is of public importance and they took proper steps to verify the information…

Well done Ottawa Citizen!!

More from the Globe:

The rulings are not just an early Christmas gift for journalists. The court, recognizing that the definition of “journalist” is expanding in our online world, says bloggers and anyone else “publishing material of public interest in any medium” are covered. Established journalistic practices offer a guide to assessing the conduct of “journalists and non-journalists alike,” the court says, and standards will evolve “to keep pace with the norms of new communications media.”

I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my deepest sympathies to any and all good citizens of Ontario. And you thot Bob Rae was bad!!!!

  2. Joanne says:

Oh Sammy. This guy is the worst ever. He sucks the Christmas spirit right out of you. He even looks like the grinch.

  3. Martin says:

Ontarians are learning to their bitter regret, that elections do matter. Having screwed up the province in an unbelievable short time, McGuinty muses now about international obligations. He is the classic example of a local schoolboard politician, attempting to project his sucess to a higher political arena. As someone remarked sometime ago, “Dalton just hasn’t got what it takes to be leader”.

  4. Byng says:

Dalton is the epitome of the idiot Liberal – he preaches and does not practice – he is a sham, – a lieberal schill

    disgusting

  5. Cloen Party says:

Why doesn’t he place some policies that he feels that Ontario can meet. I suggest he starts with the coal-fired electric generating plants? They have the same, if not more of a “carbon” footprint as the Tar Sands. Then he should do something about the greatest polluting city in Canada – Toronto. He should set the example by taking transit, ridding a bicycle, walking to work, refuse to use any “gas” powered transportation, Set the example. The most important thing he can do is refuse the “bad oil money” from Alberta in transfer payments.

He must want to be the new leader of the LIEberal Party of Toronto – sorry, Canada. Seems that he thinks he has as good as chance as Bob Ray. He will do anything to destroy Canada, and it starts by bashing the West. He is the perfect LIEberal.

Bubble, bubble…blubb..blubb..blubb…sinking deeper and deeper…and all because of hot air and unfufilled promises.

    Ontario, flatulence ALERT!
Dalton, has messed up big time on this file. This WILL get interesting! xo

(It’s Christmas, all of my posts will include, ‘xo’…..xo)

  7. Phil says:

“as a species”? Haha, what a tool.

  8. Hunter says:

Ahem…maybe you are starting to understand why Alberta doesn’t like Liberals? We got burnt real bad, really really bad, with the Liberal NEP and Dalton is yapping again about Alberta. We are listening.

You are so right Joanne, Ontario had the chance to get rid of Dalton, but they didn’t, because of the Liberal media focusing on a non-issue, be prepared for the same thing next time. Liberals are great at fear.

  9. wilson says:

‘a missed opportunity for’ Dahlton to impose yet another tax grab on Ontarians!!

  10. JohnnyD says:

McSquinty never misses an opportunity to say something vacuous and illogical. “as a species”?? In comparison to what? Non-humans?

  11. Bruce says:

Anything to distract attention away from Ontario’s real problems, eh Dalton!

    What a putz.

  12. The_Iceman says:

Dalton being angry should actually be a signal that everything is wonderful. For example when I first heard that Obama was announcing a “Landmark Deal” at Copenhagen, I was scared shitless. Oh no, what did Obama do? But then I saw an interview with Jack Layton and he was pissed off. At that moment I knew that it was a fantastic treaty.

I treat Dalton the same way. In fact, when he agrees with the Tories, like on the HST, alarm bells should start ringing…

If Dalton likes the HST, it can’t be good, no matter how you want to spin it.

  13. TangoJuliette says:

Well, even though all of his dreadfully partisan, loopy, lopsided diatribe is tragically based on fictional pseudo-science and data that is nothing more than computational artifice and sleight of hand, we must at least give Dalton LaDoosh some credit for speaking up for “his species” which Dalt perceives to be in peril. Or was he merely telling wee fibs, as is his wont, eh?

Dalt, his brother Dolt and flaxen-haired Dave da Doof. ALL voted off the island!!

On the other hand, the rest of us should light candles and give loud and long thanks to Father Christmas for the fact that we humans are not part of the “species” Dalton claims to belong to.

  14. Cool Blue says:

    Hey Dalton,

When you gonna shut down those coal fired electricity plants; the #1 source of CO2 in Ontario? You originally promised they’d be shut down by 2007!

    Practice what you preach.

  15. Liz J says:

Dolton McGuinty, what’s left to say? He’s an arrogant Liberal without the ability to pull it off. He’s simply not the sharpest knife in the drawer and his brother in the HOC, David, who is environment critic, is equally dull, all talk, no substance, Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

Ontario is in a financial mess, Dolton is nearing the end of his second majority run, he’s using the global recession as an excuse for his woes and of course that Mike Harris whose fault it was he had to break his promises. He’s trying to make us believe he played no part in taking Ontario into have-not status after two majority terms.

We can say he doesn’t speak for us but he does, we gave him that right with not one, but a second majority when he proved in his first term to be a liar, “I will not raise your taxes” still rings. He did. In impoverished Ontario, Dolton keeps the coal fires burning.

Those of us who didn’t vote for Dolton’s crapology can at least say we don’t belong to his “species”.

Lorrie Goldstein has another good read in Ottawa Sun today: “Enviro nuts blow smoke”.

“During the 2003 election campaign, McGuinty promised to shut down the coal plants by 2007. But the government has since backtracked, saying some coal-powered plants would continue to operate until 2014.”

The natural end results of Liberal, aka socialist Ontario McGuinty’s policies are here:

“Is This the Future of America (Detroit)?
    by Steven Crowder

I know that some of you may think that the last thing Detroit needs is another hit piece. Granted, some could consider this video as THE hit piece. Detroit however, can serve as a valuable lesson to the rest of the country. It has been the perfect laboratory for leftist policies at work. The more you examine the policies of Detroit’s politicians, the more strikingly similar to this administration they become. The results… are shocking. Notice how I added the “…” for dramatic effect? I’m thoughtful like that.

    WARNING: Not for the squeamish.”
    http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/scrowder/2009/12/21/is-this-the-future-of-america-detroit/

    From comments:
“I can picture Detroit being a very vibrant and beautiful city in a great location. It’s very sad to see what is so blatantly obvious that what leftists touch, turns to crap. It’s very easy to do so when it’s someone else’s money. Nearly 30% unemployment there and they’re still waiting for Obama to open up his stash and give it to the little people. Hope and change.”
