It’s funny how some folks think that being green is ‘the right thing to do’ until they have to pony up for the costs.
A local radio talk show host prides himself on being green. But yesterday when Kevin Gaudet explained that his family would have to pay $3,000 a year under the agreement that is being considered in Copenhagen right now, well let’s just say he seemed to be a bit more circumspect about the whole idea. Gaudet is working hard to educate Canadians on exactly how this scheme will impact our wallets.
And of course all that assumes that the Copenhagen agreement might be about lowering man-made carbon emissions – which is not actually the ultimate goal here.
It’s about money and control.
The more research I do on this subject, the more frightened I become. This is a huge scam and those behind it are pretending to have such altruistic motives. But here is the reality – It’s a massive con game. The public is being manipulated by social pressure and propaganda.
The National Post explains much of this in today’s editorial – The Copenhagen PR Scam:
…Not that there aren’t any Canadians who wouldn’t pay this amount — if what they were buying truly was a cooler, more thermodynaically stable atmosphere. But that isn’t what’s on offer in Copenhagen. Instead, the conference has become a sort of PR exercise, in which cynical Third Worlders try to extract the highest price possible from guilty First Worlders for a symbolic agreement that both sides secretly know will do little except bloat the budgets of poor nations –including dictatorships such as the one that employs Lumumba Stanislaus Dia-Ping…
Read the whole thing. Then check out Lorrie Goldstein’s Cap-and-trade fiasco where Lorrie talks about European carbon trading links to organized crime.
Finally please read the chilling story in Peter Foster’s James Hanson and Mob Rule.
Have you been wondering about all those demonstrations in Copenhagen? Did you think they just happened spontaneously by a bunch of concerned citizens? Then you have been duped.
They’re orchestrated by this guy and designed to embarrass and coerce politicians:
Countdown top COP15 – Global Observatory from Global Observatory on Vimeo.
Foster gives us the background:
…GO was set up by Jose Maria Figueres, a former President of Costa Rica. Exactly what Mr. Figueres has in mind when he talks about “bringing the public into negotiations” is clear from a clip available on YouTube, in which he frankly admits that the key to getting the “right” decisions is using NGOs to assemble mobs to pressure politicians. Mr. Figueres says that he’s not willing to leave the future of his children in the hands of the 1,500 negotiators at Copenhagen, so his plan was to set up a “tent” at the meeting in which there would be scientific experts (He mentions Mr. Hansen). If such scientists declared that, say, Costa Rica was “backtracking,” then GO would get on the phone to select NGOs, who could have a mob outside the presidential palace in 45 minutes. This would result in a call to the country’s environment minister in Copenhagen to change their position.
And lest you think that GO is some fringe group, Rajendra Pachauri, head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, IPCC, recently said: “The Global Observatory is a useful, timely initiative that can make a difference. We have to back up our words with action. The GO can help create the political space that will inspire, engage and enable leaders from all around the world to take action.”
By mob intimidation…
If Copenhagen fails, breathe a sigh of relief for the moment. But don’t be fooled into thinking they’ve given up.
That will never happen with so many interests involved and so much money at stake.
Stay vigilant. Become informed. Share your knowledge.

“When your grandchild grows up, she can be proud to know that her grandmother did everything she could to lie about climate change. You will be remembered for either being a dupe or a devil.”
Speaking of dupes, WJ…I assume you ‘believe’ in the science. So please – lets have it out right here.
Where do you get your information about your belief in global warm…er climate change?
Why do you believe this source over other sources that have science behind them?
What evidence can you point me to that shows that man is causing any climate change?
We will start there WJ…let’s see if you have the guts to actually have the debate.
WJ, for your information we have had climate change every year for ages, it is called spring, summer, fall and winter. In a few days winter will be here.
Those robots in Denmark remind me of all those science fiction movies where some evil monster created robots and zombies to jump when they said jump and went out to do bad things.
Wonder how many of them would be there if they had to pay their own way.
When some of those very young are interviewed as experts I ask myself, where did they get their facts. Oh, that’s right, they followed suzuki/gore/soros/ and believed them.
Notice that algore is getting a lot of ridicule.
Green Tea Party.
Yes, WJ ,,you have dragged children into this debate now instead of having the courage to debate yourself. You green worshippers always seem to bring up some hypothetical future of the world and leaving our children to pay etc.etc..YET you have no proof other than your GD big mouths shouting down the other side of the story.YOU GREENIES have been brainwashed so badly, even our children are being taught by you brainwashed teachers and we have to tell these kids the truth when they get home.Imagine a child now has to be told by his parents, that the teacher is lying and what the teacher is saying is not true. What a sick society, you greenies have turned this world into.Thank you very much. The truth is out there for all to see,and there is more and more information on how corrupt this GLOBAL WARMING MOVEMENT IS,yet you braindead greenies just wont accept it.You are a sick and pathetic lot for bringing children ,,violence and lies and animals into your sleazy scam world.SHAME ON YOU ALL.
I really think WJ is just flying by to drop the scare tactic and really has nothing to add to the discussion….right WJ?
Because someone who truly believes in the science would debate it.
Let’s see if he/she is up to the Challenge
whoa Wednesday … that is a rather low blow don’t ya think? As a regular reader (and occasional poster) to this blog, I can assure you that Joanne is no ‘dupe’. Did you actually read any of the info she linked to in this thread before your crass comments? I doubt there are many bloggers anywhere who do more research than Joanne before she posts on a topic. That is why she is considered so credible by her readers and her peers.
As for being remembered as a ‘devil’ … no, I’m pretty confident it will be ‘angel’ … for doing all she can to identify the frauds of the world, and defend our democracy. I have zero doubt in my mind that the end game for those running the Copenhagen fiasco, and militant violent demonstrators, is to do as much damage to our democracy and capitalist based society as they can.
While we’re on the topic of patsies, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the Liberals would have sold us out long ago. Let’s not forget this during the next election.
Wednesday Jones, won’t be back to respond to any comments, likely but I’ll say this about Grandchildren and information.
At least mine ARE GIVEN both sides to the story, taught how to THINK for themselves and will know the difference between settled and unsettled when it comes to Science and it’s theories.
The other thing I want for my Grandchildren is financial realities and a country that allows them to use their minds to be innovative and for those innovations to NOT be sucked dry with debilitating taxes and possible poverty so that the Al Gores and dictators of the world can starve their neighbours and people in order to line their own pockets.
ps, hey Joanne, this is EXACTLY that G O guiltrip/intimidation thing in the works….wow!
Just received our daily paper and front and center is a picture of the robots being pushed back by the police. I wonder what the grandchildren of the guy (very angry face, mouth open,) will think of their grandfather making a fool of himself in front of the world, with a mob around him.
Where do you get your information about your belief in global warm…er climate change?
1. Nasa
2. Government of Canada website
3. The Royal Society-UK’s national academy of Science
4. Dr. Andrew Weaver University of Victoria School of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
Phone: 250-472-4006
Expertise: Climate Modelling and Forecasting
5. Dr. Stephen Schneider Department of Biological Sciences Stanford University
Phone: 650-725-9978
Expertise: economic and ecological impacts of climate change
6. Bill Gates-Microsoft Founder
7. Prince Charles- Prince of Wales
The list goes on.
Why do you believe this source over other sources that have science behind them?
As you can see, I’ve cited several sources. Dr. Weaver, for example, has over 150 peer-reviewed papers on climate modeling and analysis. Tim Ball, on the other hand, has none.
What evidence can you point me to that shows that man is causing any climate change?
1. Average Arctic temperatures increased at almost twice the global rate in the past 100 years. Temperatures at the top of the permafrost layer have generally increased since the 1980s by up to 3°C. In the Russian Arctic, buildings are collapsing because permafrost under their foundations has melted.
2. In the Alps, some plant species have been migrating upward by one to four meters per decade, and some plants previously found only on mountaintops have disappeared.
3. Across Europe, the growing season in controlled, mixed-species gardens lengthened by 10.8 days from 1959 to 1993. Butterflies, dragnonflies, moths, beetles, and other insects are now living at higher latitudes and altitudes, where previously it was too cold to survive.
4. Long-term data sets for global temperature indicate a clear and consistent increase in global temperatures, particularly since the industrial revolution in western countries.
5. A new study of snow accumulation on Canada’s highest mountain provides strong evidence that significant climate change has occurred in Western Canada over the past 150 years.
6. Sea temperatures have risen by on average 0.5 degrees C (0.9 degree F) over the last 40 years.
7. 20,000 square kilometers of fresh water ice melted in the Arctic between 1965 and 1995.
8. There is widespread evidence that glaciers are retreating in many mountain areas of the world. For example, since 1850 the glaciers of the European Alps have lost about 30 to 40% of their surface area and about half of their volume.
Ok. Your turn.
Every generation has it’s thing that is going to kill us all.
Airplanes would ruin the world, then I remember how scared everyone was of a microwave oven.
We can’t have much air pollution in the freezing temperatures in Canada right now. Let’s just enjoy each season.
Gosh Wednesday, I hope you are right that we are getting warmer. Bring it on, I’m freezing this week.
Actually, I’m very pleased that you decided to debate us here, Ms. Jones. It helps us to understand the mindset of those on the other side.
I’m running out for a short while but will check comments when I return.
WJ…if you had taken the time to check out any of the links Joanne has posted over the past several days, you would realize that ‘peer reveiwed’ has taken on quite a different meaning – that is – only those who ‘agree’ with climate change are included in ‘peer reviewed’. That is why Tim Ball is denigrated by anyone who doesn’t wnat debate. That is why none of these so called ‘peer reviewed’ scientists will dare to debate him? Why is that WJ.
I note you mention a list of ‘sources’ for your information – yet you don’t include the University of Ohio that has done extensive studies showing that the ice isn’t melting at the poles at all.
The very fact you include Prince Charles in your list shows that you have drunk the koolaid. Since when did Bonny Prince Charlie become a scientist.
You list lots of evidence but provide no links so that your evidence might be checked out.
Specificially you mention Russia – you do know about the new information that Russia did not include Siberia in their climate data – so I guess if you don’t include the coldest place on earth, your data will definitely be skewed.
So that’s a start WJ – unfortunately, I presented the challenge to you and now I have to leave to head off to an appointment.
I certainly do thank you though, for actually coming back to debate…I am sure that others will pick up on my challenge while I am away. I look forward to more debate, WJ, because you are wrong on so many levels. I really hope you read with an open mind because it is obvious that so many have been hoodwinked by this and people need to open their minds and understand how we got to this point – look at the motives of those who are yelling the loudest – and most importantly – think critically.
I look forward to logging on when I get back.
Please provide links to your evidence – especially the one about the fresh water melting
I think it’s despicable that these clowns like WJ use children to inject fear into people to extort money out of us based on fraudulent science.
They scare the little children with all the deceptions like the polar bears are dieing which is not true. I call this child abuse.
WJ, those tactics will not work here. We here have done our homework and know that it’s all a fraud.
You cannot debate people like WJ, you just cant, I liken it to the middle ages when farmers could purchase their way into “heaven” buy giving the Bishops money and in return the Bishops would give the farmers a signed certificate indicating that they were entitled to go to heaven. The only question I have for people like WJ is, how did climate change occur before man walked the earth, and, we know it did. In the early 1800′s the Thames River was frozen during the winter months for decades..how did this happen? And the 2nd question for WJ, and I’ve asked this before and never had an answer, without touching the 2 biggest C02 emitters in Canada (Oil Sands and Ontario’s Coal Plants) how would you reduce our C02 emissions?
I am loyal to Mr. Harper and the Conservatives. At one time he stated Kyoto and Copenhagen were a socialist scam to transfer wealth to a world of socialists. If he sells out to this Crapenhagen Scam we may as well quit voting. “IF” he drops the ball it would verify the theory elected officials become “Ottawashed” after they get elected or they lied to get elected. I truly hope Mr. Harper does not let us down.

“Entity behind Kyoto conned public
by Judi McLeod & David Hawkins
Thursday, April 21, 2005 Cover Story
(David Hawkins, Foundation Scholar-Cambridge University, and founder of the Citizen’s Association of Forensic Economists at Hawks’ CAFE, and CFP investigative journalist Judi McLeod, have teamed up to write a series of articles on the UN’s radical socialist agenda executed across Intranets and virtual private networks, operated by the self-styled “Global Custodians”. A new feature of Canada Free Press, the ongoing series combines McLeod’s investigative experience and communication skills with Hawkins’ brilliant research linking $40 trillion hedge funds, via an online portal on the 79th floor of One World Trade Center, to “disruptive technologies” developed by Canada for alleged use in the UN Oil-for-Food scam, 9/11 and Kyoto fraud.) This is the fourth in the series.
We’ve all been had.
The bottom has long since fallen out of the key group that master-minded the Kyoto Protocol credit scheme, but nobody seemed to have joined the dots.
It all began with the flight of Canadian Maurice Strong’s Earth Council from Costa Rica as noted by the National Post’s Peter Foster in May, 2004.
With no fanfare, the Earth Council landed in CH2M Hill’s Consumer Road Toronto office towers.
The Costa Rican government has been pursuing the Earth Council for payment of U.S.$1.65 million, for the wrongful sale of a tract of land it imprudently donated to the Council. The land was donated to the Council by the Costa Rican government with the agreement that, if the Council moved, it would have to return the land.
It was in 1996 when Costa Rica granted the Council the land in question. All Hell broke loose when it was discovered that the Earth Council sold the land that was not theirs to sell in the first place.
“The government cried foul, and the Earth Council upped and departed the country, citing the drain of the legal fight.” (Peter Foster, National Post).
Not only was the Earth Council forced to bunk up with CH2M Hill, their hasty departure from sunny Costa Rica also seriously impacted the University of Peace where Maurice Strong was a prominent CEO.”

You may notice only 2 major hurricanes took place in the last 60 years. Not too many cars and trucks on the road in the 1800′s or early 1900′s that I know of.
Just another of the claims made by alarmists that can be easily disproved by some simple verifiable history.
And another observation. Why aren’t all those young people who want to save the planet going to underdeveloped countries to help them build irrigation systems, roads, levees, clinics, schools etc. instead of destroying private and public property in cities like Copenhagen?

The next world meeting should be by teleconference….think of the small carbon footprint!
Well, since this is Thursday I’m guessing Ms Jones wasn’t really born yesterday, she assumes we were and swallow the Kool Aid served up by the likes of Al Gore, no questions asked.
Hey WJ and all of you my friends…
Getting warmer or not… is not what the debate should be about. The climate has changed, from glaciations to warming to glaciations, for billions of years before humans started producing CO2. Most research suggests that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere was a lot higher then than now, several times in the pre-humankind history. Also, research suggests that CO2 increases after warming, not before (documented and well known among earth scientists but never reported by the media).
Please put aside any bias and ideology, and think about it on a simple logic basis. Humans’ influence on climate is possible, but it is still only a theory. It is NOT settled.
Is this the same Dr. Andrew Weaver [of tales] that Wednesday Jones referenced?

I already sent my letter to James Moore, demanding a public inquiry into the CBC’s refusal for at least ten days to even so much as mention the Climategate scandal.
WJ, you cite Bill Gates and Prince Charles.
Oh boy, that looks very bad on you.
Bill Gates might be one of the richest men in the world but that doesn’t make him a quotable expert on global warming.
As for Prince Charles, he was in Niagara recently and his motorcade consisted of more than a dozen Ontario Provincial Police motorcycles, half a dozen marked and unmarked OPP police cruisers, unmarked RCMP cruisers, a couple of press vans, a couple of sedans and two stretch limos. That’s not counting the numerous police cruisers used to block every QEW (four-lane highway) entrance between Hamilton and Niagara.
Why were cruisers used to block highway entrances you might ask?
Because the highway was closed in sections for at least ten minutes before the Prince arrived.
That left thousands of cars and trucks idling in the rain and cold on one of the busiest highways in southern Ontario with access routes clogged in every village and town between the two points.
This entourage remained in place as the Prince toured a winery exhibit as the plan was obviously to escort him back to Hamilton via the QE but he was running late so instead the helicopter he also had on stand-by took him back to meet up with Camilla.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the Prince but maybe he’d be more credible if he had ridden his bike at least part of the way (I’m assuming he has a bike and knows how to ride it).
Why is it that those who preach global warming and a way-of-life that doesn’t include fossil fuel or nuclear power always seem to have multiple homes and travel around in private jets and stretch limos?

From the “speaking of biting the hand that feeds you” dept…
Global Warming-IS- Human / Industrial Pollution
As you know, scientist and science itself has been slandered with misinformation and ridiculed in advance of the talks. (A favored, repeated, and effective, right wing tactic).
Is Global Warming related to human/ industrial pollution? The atmosphere seems to be an arbitrary subject right now because of the propaganda effort to confuse the linkage between burning of fossil fuels and its effect on the atmosphere.
The real question is- are we going to put pandering ahead of science in addressing and acting upon human/industrial pollution now and in the future?
The best indisputable SCIENCE example that should be a test model and the #1 item on the Copenhagen Agenda would be the toxic plastic waste dump, the size of Texas, 900 miles off of the United States and Canadian West Coast.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GreatPacificGarbatchageP
That is a Big SCIENCE problem with no dedicated U.S SCIENCE and INNOVATION DEPARTMENT to address the issue. The U.S (or Canada) has not even sent out a SCIENCE research vessel to evaluate this ecological disaster; neither country wants to take the responsibility for the industrial/human pollution or even acknowledge its existence.
No Profit-No Action!-No SCIENCE! Will the World Trade Organization and the New Industrial World Order address the issue? Where is their World SCIENCE Department? Advancement in SCIENCE would outmode the use of fossil fuels but the U.S has not funded innovative SCIENCE since 2001.
http://www.eere.energy.gov/inventions
Can the problem be solved with SCIENCE? Probably so, Americans are very ingenious primarily because we were raised with the compliments of Freedom and Democracy and are free thinking individuals. We could probably figure a way to clean up the mess and possibly make a profit doing so.
We can do nothing until we have a funded DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE that is free to address SCIENCE and to develop the advancement of SCIENCE. (Yes, for the sake of humanity; SCIENCE FIRST-PANDERING SECOND.)
Roy Green will be interviewing Lorrie Goldstein next on AM 770 CHQR.
I see that WJ has dropped out of the conversation…perhaps she is doing some indepth research into the many, many links provided that show just how people like her have been duped.
As Elizabeth May said – any pay attention WJ -
“It’s a fine peice of propaganda, and it just shows that if you tell a big enough lie, often enough, people will start to believe you.”
I would say that WJ has fallen for that line. Of course, Lizzie didn’t mean herself, but given the evidence of fraud and the standing ovations that dictators get vs the Boo’s that democracies get, I would say that those non-thinking people who have swallowed the BS; those who don’t take the time to find out for themselves, will be the ones who will end up being the biggest dupes…..and I will leave the devil to his own devices.
Interesting insight on Colvin with Roy Green right now.
The difficulty WJ is having is her focus is too short. She should climate as a bicycle ride through the mountains. Up one hill then down the next. Any level stretch is soon an up or down ride. If you look at the local temperature over a year there is a dramatic up and down cycle with many many little cycles in the big one. Sometimes the cycle only lasts a few minutes or hours or stretches over months. Of course the same holds true for a year over year average where some years are warmer than others. You will also notice the same cyclical pattern if you compare decade over decade, century over century, millenia over millenia, eon over eon. In fact the only fixed thing in the pattern is the change.
The problem we have with the AGW crowd is the fact that we are looking at too short a period of time. Here in Edmonton the 1960′s were cold and trend was to warmer weather through the 1990′s. Now the pattern is reversing where the average temperature is in decline.
What does it mean. It means that AGW is a HOAX. It means that temperatures run in cycles and we must never become alarmed at a gradual increase or gradual decrease in temperature. It means that we have to be ready to adapt to what ever this old world throws at us. We need to use the now dead farmers of Greenland as an example. If the climate starts to change don’t try to fight it or ignore it. Adapt to it or die.
The point of all of this is this: Some unscrupulous people have used the religion of the secular state, Science, to propagate a repugnant agenda and in the course of doing so used several dupes, and greedy nations who lined or would line their pockets as they disseminate falsehoods, fabrications and out right lies. At the very core of this effort is an anti-God/anti-human sentiment that seeks to control mankind through a trans-global governance structure.
Someday the real story of why and how Al Gore started this hysteria, will be told but when you look at the high profile, celebrity names, it clearly is a religion. All you need to do is recall the anger and despondency of Al Gore after he finally lost the election. This was clearly not on his radar, then and within a short 9 years, these “celebrities” have banded together to claim the “Science is settled”.
Al Gore, manages to make a movie, win an Academy Award and Nobel Peace Prize, all the while, item by item his movie is being disproved and he cannot prove his facts.
He uses carbon credits to operate his energy guzzling home but HE OWNS the company that sells the credits.
Come on!! If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s a damn duck!
Somewhat related … so the PM lands in Copenhagen and already the gossips are at it. An article by the Canadian Press, as is very often the case, unattributed to anyone:
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/091217/national/climate_where_s_harper
“Harper skips Canada’s climate conference speech to dine with leaders
COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Gordon Brown, Nicolas Sarkozy, Angela Merkel, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad – and Jim Prentice?
While dozens of other world leaders took to the podium Thursday to address delegates at the Copenhagen climate talks, Prime Minister Stephen Harper sent his environment minister in his place.
Prentice was to give a short speech Thursday night outlining Canada’s stance on climate change to representatives from nearly 200 countries.
Harper had other plans – he was joining leaders at a dinner hosted by the Queen of Denmark. … ”
The article implies that the PM is not interested in the talks going on, that he prefers attending a fancy dinner. But hold it! What’s that about “other leaders”?
Oh! We learn only at the very end of the piece that
“Harper isn’t alone in skipping an address. Seventy nine of the 136 leaders sent someone else in their place. That includes the United States and China.
The CBC’s Terry Milewski had the same garbage … I mean story … on Power & Politics, but in keeping with unofficial CBC policy, he omitted mentioning other leaders had not attended the climate conference speech.
Very interesting show with Roy Green on Adler today. Lots of talk re Charest and Daltons comments, they will not pay for any costs re AB. Charest said, in a comment that Provincial Govts are not bound by Federal decisions re treaties etc.
Roy asked what would happen if AB said the same thing, and refused to follow any signing in Denmark. What if AB decided to ignore equalization paymts. Final hour very interesting, question-If AB was not part of Canada, and a referendum was held to join, how would you vote. Majority said no, they would not join Canada today.
He also said if Que had another vote to leave it be ho hum what is new, they will vote NO, but talk of separation in AB is different. When AB says something they mean it and will do it.
Sorry Que and Ont, we will try not to send you any tainted money in the future. Think about it, we are very mad at your premiers and Mayor. Soon it will turn to fury.
“Wednesday” on Thursday wrote “Whey your grandchild grows up she can be proud to know that her grandmother did everything she could to lie about climate change. You will be remembered for either being a dupe or a devil.”
There’s a little too much knowledge about your personal life and your family within this comment Joanne. It means whoever this is, is keeping track. I know that you’ve shared much good news with your regulars but you can’t ignore this kind of sideways comment. The environuts tend not to be pacifists and can be violent. Watch it.
Whoever “Wednesday” is (not really their name I’m betting unless her parents were Adams Family fans) illustrates the “dupe” descriptor very well.
Too bad Copenhagen’s a bust!
“the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”(Mencken)
Couple of points, just listened to PP with Gerry Nicholls and Jean Lapierre, Tommie boy asked a question about how Canada is seen as an embarrassment internationally and Lapierre blames the Government for not consulting with the provinces especially BC, Quebec and Ontario. However Nicholls hit the nail on the head by stating that the Conservatives were doing it right in trying to protect the Canadian economy and that it was the Canadian environmental groups and Suzuki that were the embarrassment. Mr Nicholls did say that the big three provinces were simple trying to play politics with this situation. Tommie boy never mentions one word of Alberta and what they are doing. (BRING ON THE WILDROSE ALLIANCE).
I also listened to the MP’s Geoff Regan Lib, Sherry GLover Conservative and a Dipper his name escapes me First question went to Sherry Glover on the pending sale of Candu Reactor she outlined that it would only be sold if the 30+ thousand canadian jobs were protected.
Geoff Regan as usually came out with how this is more of Conservative mismanagement and how the COns were responsible for the economic downturn. and it would be the libs that have to correct this. Mr Regan did make a slip of the tongue or could be some truth. “In saying that we,being libs would have to clean up he conservative mess, After the Consevatives inherited a 12 billion dollar deficit.”
So maybe it was really not a slip of the tongue
A few days ago lizzie mentioned paying attention to Soros. Today Jack Layton mentioned the same guy. Is he financing all the idiots expenses.
Joanne this is an email that I sent to Tom Clark I doubt if anything comes of it.
Mr Clark; I have listened to you many times over the past month and I am certainly disgusted with your reporting: another example is to day on your show you referred to Quebec and Ontario critizing the Federal government on their Climate change plan, if you had on ounce of journalistic integrity you would have questioned those two Provinces on their bashing of Alberta’s oil industry. Mr Charest, Mr Mcguinty and their environment ministers should be greatful for the Alberta Oil industry becuase of the transfer of wealth to the Federal Government for further transfer to have not provinces. This year Alberta is scheduled to transfer a net of 21 billion dollars of which Quebec will be the principle receiver. Last year Quebec alone received 8.5 billion dollars in Equalization money, the greater share came from mean old oil producing Alberta. Alberta demand an apology from Mr Charest and Mr McGuinty are only playing partisan politics to assist the federal cousins.
If these two fools want to continue in their game Alberta can simple shut off the taps.
Being that my email is so negative I doubt that you will have the guts to even read this or mention on your show.
Excuse me while I get this out….. AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watched Power Play and the CBC one after Corner Gas and I have to say, it was very frustrating. I shut the TV off after a few minutes.
Everyone is talking about Canada’s performance at Copenhagen as if global warming is a done deal and everyone is totally ignoring the fact that most Canadians want a second look at the science involved.
This is nothing more than “bash Harper at any expense”.
One other topic mentioned on CBC was on-line voting. It would appear that on-line voting in general elections is extremely popular among the more youthful voters.
Watch for this one to be pushed hard by the Libs and Dippers since they are usually the recipients of the youth vote.
Gerry Nicholls was spot on on Tommy Clark’s PP this evening. I’m thinking Tommy was surprised, maybe shocked, he probably thought Gerry would diss PM Harper, he did not.
Liz, I only caught a bit of it but I was pleasantly surprised with Nicholls.
Good email Rich! They need to get some feedback. Well done.
As far as I’m concerned Harper doesn’t have to to anything at all in Copenhage except remind the other countries that we’re not out of the recession just yet and there’s a reason why Canada is leading more other nations financially. That’s because we’re looking after our economy and our country…all of it and NOT wasting money.
That’s because we’re looking after our economy and our country…all of it and NOT wasting money.
And they’re jealous of that. They want to level the playing field.
If the kool-aid drinking journalists INVESTIGATED the consequences of Copenhagen, they would need to admit that they were WRONG……..or SOCIALISTS.
I wonder if they should just send their resumes to Mugabe or Chavez…..same thing imo.
Btw, which Government, from either Ontario or Quebec leases Audi’s as their fleet? That same government also has a PRIVATE JET.
Shame!
The latest from David Suzuki, Comparing Climate Change to Slavery!.
SOLOMON: And by the way, they’re saying because it is, by the way, because the oil sands creates jobs, creates money that is transferred to other provinces, and that’s their notion of the balance.
SUZUKI: You know, that’s what they used to say in the southern states. We can’t give up slavery because it’ll destroy our economy and slavery gives us jobs and we have to have slave runners and all of that. Some things you do because they’re right. And you know, the problem is…
Here’s the clip with Lapierre & Nichols. Let’s support Gerry on this one.
Just watching video of an undersea (ocean) volcano erupting. I am sure all that lava and steam will raise the temp of the water, and it will not be global warming. Might ever be hot enough to melt some ice. Hey gore, how could man have stopped that. It is happening NOW.
And the At Issue panel tonight will be answering all questions sent by viewers. Bet mine isn’t mentioned.
It was just asking them why the cbc is so hateful to our PM and seldom if ever refer to him as Prime Minister.
If anyone is practicing slavery it is the suzuki/gore enslaving their followers. They say jump, climb, disrupt and guess what, their slaves follow like robots. They are the slave masters. Is Soros paying for all this, both Layton/Mae mentioned him.
Funny how Libloggers only have 2 posts up about Dopenhagen, one is to bash PMSH for not giving a speech……
Personally, I’m really ticked off with McGuinty and Charest for not standing up for Canada.
Wilson, if you had a choice of giving a speech to a bunch of lizzie/idiots, or dining with the Queen, bet you, like me, would choose the Queen. O missed his chance to bow again.
If these idiots have met for ten days and can’t agree on the weather, how do they expect to get a deal in 24 hours.
What a waste of money, and co2.
if you can stomach watching see if you agree with me
whenever Tom Clark talks about the Conservative Government
his face goes into painful contortions same for Evan Solomon
Evan’s face contortions are even worse than Tom’s
usually this denotes a certain dislike for the topic or person being discussed
see if you agree with me

A dollar to a donut former Costa Rican President Jose Maria Figueres’ support for mob demonstrations is connected to Maurice Strong.
Mo Strong, with help from then-Canadian PM Paul Martin, and to the tune of about $13 million Canadian-taxpayer dollars, opened the United Nations-sanctioned University for Peace in a natural reserve in Costa Rica.

Harper skips Canada’s climate conference speech to dine with leaders
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/091217/national/climate_where_s_harper
Apparently, Prime Minister Stephen Harper left his Minister of the Environment to give a speech to delegates at the Copenhagen climate talks, alongside world leaders Gordon Brown, Nicolas Sarkozy, Angela Merkel, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad while he hobnobbed with OTHER world leaders at a dinner hosted by the Queen of Denmark — and, according to the Canadian Press this is somehow suspect — at least to judge by the headline.
Why does a Prime Minister have Ministers if not to ask them to take their place when another important event is happening? Last time I looked, no world leader had the ability to bilocate — OK, OK, maybe the Obamessiah.
I can only imagine what the headline would be if PMSH had decided not to go to the dinner hosted by the Queen of Denmark: Harper snubs Queen of Denmark.
…
Re PMSH skipping the speeches at the Climate Conference: I suspect he was sending a message about his feelings toward the AGW shysters. At least, that’s what I’m hoping he was doing.
I also hope he had a good visit with the Queen.
Batb, I see it as a good sign that PM Harper has so much faith in Jim Prentice.
But you’re absolutely right. Just as Obama can do no wrong in the eyes of Canadian Press, our PM can’t do anything to please them. Even his exhalations of CO2 must send them into fits of apoplexy.
When you the likes of MUGABES, HUGO CHAVEZ at this so call climate propaganda, LOOK OUT.
Hugo Chavez comes from a powerful wealth country call venezuela, the Lake Maracaibo is loaded with drilling wells in fact, the lake is so polluted no fish or human can swim there. Venezuela is not only known for its oil but the pearls and many resources.
What Hugo did is reduced the wealth of his nation to pennies. the bolivian doolars is not worth a dam. He has reduce his people to the poverty line. he recently bought 20jets for no reason at all and his military like Mugabe are highly paid well taken off both in financial and respect. he has taken the people’s media from to implement his own. He,is losing money, the wealthy people although some of them still live there, have removed ttheir money from the bancos de venezuela to foreign lands away from CHAVEZ’S hands.
Now that Hugo sees that no large revenues besides the oil is helping the country.
Hugo masterminded this whole trip to COPENHAGEN to beg for money for his own empire and greed. His presence in Copenhagen has nothing to do with climate change per say non what so ever.
Hugo ruined his own country so did Mugabe and now they claim to be a third whole country -my ass. these two as well as many dictators who robbed from their own people and who reduced them to hunger should be tried at the Hague.
Lizzie May should find her backside at Lake Maracaibo and tell me which is worse, our oil sands or the dead lake.
What in the hell is Layton doing in Copenhagen and how did he manage to arrive there without the use of ‘dirty oil’
This is off topic, but I need a place to vent. Just watched CBC At Issue tonight. Peter Mansbridge needs a pooping puffin to poop on his skinhead head!!!!!!Talk about picking questions AGAINST the govt. that he could manipulate. Who are these “At Issue” know it all panelists? Who made them EXPERTS? Who made them GODS? What do they know? Why is everything they THINK or SAY is the chosen truth?Grrrrrrrr.
I feel sorry for the losers, making excuses for the Liberals and doing what Peter Mansbridge does best…bashing PM Harper.
Here we go….ANOTHER Susuki climate program on CBV…12 in a row now????? Artic meltdown….yawn.
I know some who visit here will probably not like what I’m about to suggest, but IF there is an agreement in Copenhagen to set up some kind of a fund to help developing countries cope with their hagens … I mean with the effects of climate change … then each country’s contribution should be commensurate with the total GHGs they emit:
• China would have to contribute $21.5 Billion for producing 21.5% of total GHG emissions (2006 data)
• US $20.2 Billion for its 20.2% of GHG emissions
• EU $13.8 Billion, but I would increase it to $15 Billion or more as a penalty for the overwrought rhetoric of two European leaders, Nicolas Sarkozy and Gordon Brown, whose speeches – even though I heard only snippets – were waaay over the top. Emitting that much hot air has to have some kind of consequence.
• Russia $5.5 Billion
• India $5.3 Billion
• Japan $4.6 Billion
• Canada? Well, we emit only 1.9% of GHGs (2006 data) so we’ll have to contribute $1.9 Billion.
Since that money will have to come from somewhere, I propose that all government employees, including MPs and the judiciary, take a pay cut of 1.9%.
In addition, each province that receives equalization payments and transfers will also be cut by 1.9%. Actually, as some westerners have already suggested, maybe equalization payments should be stopped altogether to those provinces which find the oilsands a blight on Canada’s reputation.
I’m sure there are plenty of other programs where a 1.9% cut could easily take place.
Premier Stelmach said today that PMSH had an agreement with the provinces to take to Dopenhage, all provinces except Quebec!
McGuinty back stabbed PMSH.
Agree Mary T.
In fact, with such an unruly mob, who could guarantee PMSHs safety?
There isn’t anything our national media would not run down PMSH on.
If he had made a speech, the crowd would have howled (or worse) in outrage, our media would have loved that. Who in the h needs that.
Even CNN media were commenting on what an ignorant show dopenhagen turned into.
Quebec just wants the targets to be so high that Alberta is sure to fail.
Then Alberta can buy carbon credits from Quebecers, and pay them equalization too.
fh
I’ve noticed that about Clark, his jaw tightens, eyes narrow as he tries to hold back.
Haven’t watch much of Evan. But noticed kady squirms.
Mary T. I do not want Ab to separate, I don’t think we should have to do all that BS. With the way quebec treats the rest of Canada, if we are going to do something lets to set up a referendum. The question would be “Do you as a Canadian want quebec to remain within Canada”. The choice of answers would be YES or NO plain and simple.
It only makes sense in a group the troublemaker gets turfed.
Gabby, I like your idea!
If Wednesday comes back on Friday I would encourage her to go over to Springers and for herself just how flip flopping the whole climate debate is….Global Cooling, Global Warming…funny how they attribute drought, heavy rains, cool temps, warm temps, wind, etc etc to the flavour of the day. No wonder they changed the name to Climate Change – that way they can pretend that everything that happens outside means they need more money.
I remember David Suzuki pontificating on CBC’s (back when there were two channels) the Nature of Things that we were entering another ice age…..I wonder what changed David…Oh yeah, it got warmer…..so David threw out that and jumped on the warming.
Wednesday, obviously you just wanted to point out the propoganda that you have allowed to jilt your perspective and not engage in debate, but that is typical of your ilk, sweetheart…isn’t it.

Re Alberta being the whipping boy of Canada – I have long come to the conculsion that Central Canada cannot stand that upstart Alberta is successful….they want to do their best to take us down.
Remember a couple of years back how the lefties would say – well, if you didn’t have oil. At that time I said the oil didn’t stop at Alberta’s borders – Sask is also full of oil, they just need a government that will allow free enterprise to market it. Voila – now Sask is booming.
Central Canada cannot stand the fact that they can’t seem to get the power back and are now being outright blatant in their desire to take the west down. The fact that the prime minister is also from the west just ampliphies the fact that they are not the powerhouses any longer.
And I am not talking about everyone in Central Canada, but it sure seems like those in Government feel that way.
A year ago, when the Coup was on, I remember feeling this unease that we were entering a nasty time. Given the whole idiocy of Copenhagen, the state of the MSM and the constant smear tactics used by the opposition to bring the CPC down, I think my gut feelings were on target.
“In short conservatives are a hard and unfriendly bunch who, in the world in which we live, must steel themselves to be reviled and despised by all people who make compassion into the cornerstone of the moral life.”
…-
“Totalitarian Sentimentality
Conservatives recognize that social order is hard to achieve and easy to destroy, that it is held in place by discipline and sacrifice, and that the indulgence of criminality and vice is not an act of kindness but an injustice for which all of us will pay. Conservatives therefore maintain severe and — to many people — unattractive attitudes. They favor retributive punishment in the criminal law; they uphold traditional marriage and the sacrifices that it requires; they believe in discipline in schools and the value of hard work and military service. They believe in the family and think that the father is an essential part in it. They see welfare provisions as necessary, but also as a potential threat to genuine charity, and a way both of rewarding antisocial conduct and creating a culture of dependency. They value the hard-won legal and constitutional inheritance of their country and believe that immigrants must also value it if they are to be allowed to settle here. Conservatives do not think that war is caused by military strength, but on the contrary by military weakness, of a kind that tempts adventurers and tyrants. And a properly ordered society must be prepared to fight wars — even wars in foreign parts — if it is to enjoy a lasting peace in its homeland. In short conservatives are a hard and unfriendly bunch who, in the world in which we live, must steel themselves to be reviled and despised by all people who make compassion into the cornerstone of the moral life.
Liberals are of course very different.”

The hypocrisy of the msm astounds me.They continually bash PMSH over what they percieve as his control over Ministers..yet,when he lets Prentice do the speaking for Canada in Copenhagen(which I feel Prentice should do,as he’s been there all wk)..the msm are ALL slamming PMSH for ‘hiding’ and not representing Canada.Which is it msm?Why can’t Prentice speak for us?
BTW,Connie Woodcock has great column in TO Sun today on msm neglecting to give the assasination photo the coverage it deserved..the over-hype of ‘puffingate’ as opposed to the Libs latest stupidity..she specifically mentions Craig Oliver! Think back as well to the saturation in msm over Tom Lukiwski,Lisa Raitt and her assistant and the leaked tape..how much air time was wasted on all that..oh,and who can forget,’wafergate’..yet the assasination thing gets barely a squeak.Very telling msm,and all of you should be ashamed.
Liberal compassion.

“MP calls for regulation of sex toy industry
A Toronto Liberal MP is calling on the federal health minister to take steps to regulate the adult sex toy industry in Canada. Carolyn Bennett sent a letter to Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq this week saying that chemicals used in most sex toys pose a potential health risk for women.”

Wouldn’t matter what PM Harper did at the Copenhagen cash grab, wouldn’t please a single attendee there looking for big bucks from this country with a small population and vast expanses of unpopulated land and very low on the pollution scale.
The headlines will be ‘Harper went to Copenhagen to dine with the Queen’. He should come home now and let them talk about his carbon footprint.
What was Layton doing there? He was probably there to support the protesters. He was left standing in a hallway, wasn’t allowed into a room where Mr Prentice spoke to the media during a briefing yesterday so he couldn’t have been there in an official capacity.
The more one thinks about it, the more unbelievable it is that we’ve come to this point at all.
It’s still playing with Mo Strong’s insane concoction called Kyoto to help his Socialist dream of shutting down industrialized nations. Haven’t seen a plan to deal with the spoils of that insanity.
Left-liberal-socialism’s compassion: Double-dipping.
Build a food bank; they will come to it.

Hey AG – Find out if the Wild Rose Party would like to start an arm in Ontario. I want to join. McGuinty’s killing this province!
Me too, Richco!!
Let the guffaws begin, Carolyn Bennett now branching out, from creating a panic over swine flu vaccine to sex toys. She’s been rather quiet lately, was wondering what she was up to.
Interesting thing about Carolyn Bennett’s concern over sex toys.
She’s doing it on behalf of a couple of entrepreneurs who sell eco-sex toys. Yes, she’s now shilling for the eco-sex toy industry.
Maybe they promised her some free samples.
Gabby, the only problem I have with your very good idea is that the money paid will still go to African despots to help wage tribal wars.
Much is being made right now about Chinese transparency but how about African transparency???
Liz J re: Bennett “She’s been rather quiet lately, was wondering what she was up to.” researching sex toys I guess until something better comes up(no pun or play on words intended….but it fits)
I really want this to have legs because I can’t wait for The Waffle to stand up in QP and lead with this latest desperate issue confronting Canadians.
Seriously – the LPOC has nothing left in its bag of tricks.
I would like to add this about SCIENCE and INNOVATION.
Fact: American green energy innovation and ingenuity, science really, hasn’t been funded since 2001.
http://www.eere.energy.gov/inventions
New renewable energy inventors have no stimulus grant money to develop their inventions. The Department of Energy and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and in particular, Dr. Chu, has snuffed any new green energy advancements. Their agenda is to do research and development of product line for the multinational corporations and keep American innovation down.
Old patented science advancements in green energy inventions (outmoding fossil fuels) were bought up by the multinational corporations and kept off of the market so that they would not upset their New World Manufacturing Order agenda. The last World conquer was Hitler.
Yes, it is a win- win for Communist China and the multinational corporations and a loss- loss for Democracy and Freedom and the American people. Remember, the American manufacturing base moved to China for cheap labor; (graduate engineer $7,000 a year and most everyone else $700 a year) their allegiance is now with Communist China.
Bush played the bad cop, Obama plays the good cop, but the fact is we are still on the same agenda. There is no change, the free press is gone. The treason of the multinational corporations and their owned and controlled congress continues. There will be no rebuilding of America’s manufacturing capabilities from the ground up with new inventions. There will only be more debt for the American people and dominance of our government by the multinational corporations New World Order agenda.
Ask your government representatives WHY there is no funding for new inventions (advancement in science) to build a new American economy.
NeilD at 9:06 am, perhaps we can send the lefties who are bent on controlling every single facet of people’s lives to check up on where the money goes.
Nah, I guess not.
How about sending all the warmists who think they know everything about how everything works to Africa to make sure the funds are used for sustainable development?
Maybe they can build a few sustainable buildings, like clinics and schools?
Dig a few wells?
Plant a few trees because deforestation is a real, not an imaginary, problem?
Oh, but that would entail maybe picking up a shovel or some other tools, plus some manual labour, and getting some dirt under their fingernails.
Nah huh, I guess that wouldn’t work either.
Seriously, though. I’m old enough to remember the kind of enthusiasm generated by Kennedy’s Peace Corps. Idealistic young people willing to actually DO something constructive rather than just jetting to far-flung places in order to demonstrate and damage public and private property.
That youthful enthusiasm could be harnessed to work for a couple of years in government-funded projects, like building infrastructure abroad, reforestation, and the like.
If underdeveloped countries do not agree to such concrete help in materials and manpower, they forgo the funds, as simple as that. Never mind setting up more bureaucracy like it’s being suggested in Denmark to ensure the funds are being used appropriately.
Richo, I don’t think Doc Bennett’s sex toy concern will cross Iggy’s lips in the HOC, can’t imagine his big mouth enunciating on that subject. It’s yet another sign that they’re really bankrupt for issues. It’s also a sign they have nothing serious to offer in return for their pay as Official Opposition and a good reason to prorogue parliament and let the Harper government get on with running the country. The gotcha games are getting out of hand.
Joanne: “Batb, I see it as a good sign that PM Harper has so much faith in Jim Prentice.”
Sorry if I didn’t make myself clear on this point, Joanne. I, too, think it’s a very good sign that PMSH delegated that particular speech to Jim Prentice. He, no doubt, trusts his Environment Minister, and it also sends a message, IMO, that PMSH isn’t being bamboozled by the glitz and hype of the Climate Change Conference.
He’s got other priorities. At least, that’s my hope.
Batb – I just made that comment as a way of agreeing with you.
Jim Prentice is doing a great job.
PM Harper live on CBC right now.
In a few months, academic pondering will be over and you will be have to experiencing the truth.
Here is a Thomas Jefferson quote for you.
I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.
Fact: For the last two years, there has been over 500,000 Americans who file for employment benefits per WEEK.
http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/ui/current.htm
I am interested from a SCIENCE point of view how that number can be equated to mean that there are only 11,000 a MONTH job loss. The mathematics involved must be quite something!
If you add in the illegal emigrants, the real number of unemployed in the United States is so astounding—you wouldn’t believe me–you will have to figure it out for yourself.
