...But the activists will come up with something, for their livelihoods depend upon it. And as the world’s climate is constantly changing, and has been doing for the past 4.54 billion years, “climate change” itself will provide new opportunities.
For this reason, I think we need, after thorough public inquiries, to bring criminal prosecutions against some of the major scientific players exposed by the recent release of e-mails and papers at the centre of the “global warming” scam. The more any percipient reader pours through those “hacked” documents, the clearer he will see the criminal intent behind the massaging of the numbers; for the masseuses in question stood to benefit directly and personally from getting “the right results.” This is by its nature an issue for the criminal courts.
My reasoning here is that “environmentalism” at large has — like all other “progressive” movements — exploited public gullibility about motivations.
The leading lights have accumulated wealth and power, while presenting themselves as men of goodwill. They have projected themselves through sympathetic media as unselfish and pure, and have demonized their opponents as selfish and impure, while themselves being on the take…

All this so countries like Canada can pony up something in the range of $100 billion for a climate fund, to be dispursed to people like Mugabe, so they can use it to pad their foreign bank accounts “adapt” their nations to climate change.
Remind me again why I want nothing to do with these clowns and their farce of an international climate crisis, and why I have no faith whatsoever in their ability to mount a credible emisions plan…

I want somebody from my government to stand up to the global warming alarmists and I want them to do it now!!

Yes I do.

“For this reason, I think we need, after thorough public inquiries, to bring criminal prosecutions against some of the major scientific players exposed by the recent release of e-mails and papers at the centre of the “global warming” scam.”
Likewise, the so-called pandemic flu. The UN changed the definition of what constitutes a pandemic flu. It’s all about the “money.”
How come the national media has not said a word about this??
“Avarice is the root of all evil.”
From “Risk”
“Uncertainty is so central to the nature of science that it provides a handy way of distinguishing between a scientist talking as a scientist and a scientist who is using the prestige of his white lab coat to support political activism: Look at the language. If a scientist delivers the simple, unconditional, absolutely certain statements that politicians and journalists want, he is talking as an activist, not a scientist.”
“If press-release hype stayed in the press releases, none of this would matter. But it doesn’t, and this does matter. Reporters are increasingly asked to do more in less time and, as a result, they commonly do not read the studies they write about. What they read is the press release. It is the basis of the story, not the report. Savvy organizations know this, which is why press releases are written in a format that mirrors the standard news story: headline, lead sentence framing the issue, details, key numbers, quotations from officials and experts. Reporters pressed for time can whip out a superficially satisfying story in no time if they follow the press release’s structure and use the facts and quotations provided. Sometimes they do. More often, they’ll frame the story as the press release has framed it but add some comments from other experts or perhaps, some facts and figures gleaned from a quick scan of the report. What the reporter is very unlikely to do, however, is read the study, think about the issue, and decide for herself what’s important and how the story should be framed.”
“Fear sells. Fear makes money. The countless companies and consultants in the business of protecting the fearful from whatever they may fear know it only too well. The more fear, the better the sales.”
Same goes for media. What the PM is presenting us with is exactly the opposite. That’s something that can’t be bought, so that more or less explains why my choice is to be equally a support and a mouthpiece if I need to be. The Waffle alternative is absurd!
Along with SHAKEDOWN. Dan Garder’s “Risk – Why We Fear the Things We Shouldn’t – and Put Ourselves in Greater Danger” You will never EVER look at all of this media hype in the same way.
I read that on your recommendation Richco! That was an excellent book. I was thinking about doing a post on ideas for Christmas reading.
It worries me when I read a piece by Jim Prentice citing his support for the concept of made-made global warming. I’m wondering if he will stand up for us, the common folk or cave into the elite.
I actually made both my kids read it Joanne because by far students are the most vulnerable to the type of messages being delivered by those who prey on fear and a captive audience. Nothing ticks me off more that using students, so I wanted my own kids to not simply buy what’s being told to them without thinking about the source first.

If PMSH ‘allows’ Canada to be dragged into what will turn out to be the biggest fraud in history,
Liberals will be screaming for a public inquiry into Harper being complicite in global crimes, demanding crimal charges be laid.
you know it.
Leeky, I am concerned too but I do believe Prentice is capable of handling this. It requires great finesse.
The game has already changed, the Gorezuki’s have a lot to answer for, Obama will find out that the EPA’s decision to declare “greehouse gasses” a health hazard will not stand up in the courts, plus the “O” is also going to suffer the indignitiy of losing control of Congress after the mid-term elections next year, ending up as a lame duck president.
This is the end of Glo-Bull Warming and just the beginning of the investigations that will lead to prosecutions and convictions of the perpetraters of he biggest fraud in human history.
Greenpeace was declared a business and not a charitable organization years ago, I wonder how the CCRA’s investigation into the David Suzuki Foundation is going?

There should be a poll saying, do you support Copenhagen if it cost you an extra $3,000 + a year, every year, for the rest of your life? The public is upset about the HST, but you would need to spend $ 37,500 a year on services that will be taxed at 8% to pay an extra $3,000 in HST.

Roy Green’s thanking Alberta was one of the nicest things he could have done. I am tired of being the whipping boy in this whole debate simply because they don’t dare challenge any of the tinpot dictators and since the Big O is their hero, challenging America is also out. That leaves Canada and Alberta/Sask. And I would bet that few of them even know where the oil sands are or what they are – that is – naturally occuring sands – they would be there even if we did not process the oil.
And of course few of them know that repatriation of the land is undertaken after processing is finished and that the oil industry is one of the leading proponents of energy efficiency and green energy and that they recycle most of the water they use.
It makes me sick to see how Elizabeth May and Jack Layton spew inaccuracies and outright lies about Alberta’s oil industry, all the while taking the benefits that it has given their provinces.
“Now the Russians confirm that UK climate scientists manipulated data to exaggerate global warming
Climategate just got much, much bigger. And all thanks to the Russians who, with perfect timing, dropped this bombshell just as the world’s leaders are gathering in Copenhagen to discuss ways of carbon-taxing us all back to the dark ages.
Feast your eyes on this news release from Rionovosta, via the Ria Novosti agency, posted on Icecap. (Hat Tip: Richard North)
A discussion of the November 2009 Climatic Research Unit e-mail hacking incident, referred to by some sources as “Climategate,” continues against the backdrop of the abortive UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen (COP15) discussing alternative agreements to replace the 1997 Kyoto Protocol that aimed to combat global warming.
The incident involved an e-mail server used by the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich, East England. Unknown persons stole and anonymously disseminated thousands of e-mails and other documents dealing with the global-warming issue made over the course of 13 years.
Controversy arose after various allegations were made including that climate scientists colluded to withhold scientific evidence and manipulated data to make the case for global warming appear stronger than it is.
Climategate has already affected Russia. On Tuesday, the Moscow-based Institute of Economic Analysis (IEA) issued a report claiming that the Hadley Center for Climate Change based at the headquarters of the British Meteorological Office in Exeter (Devon, England) had probably tampered with Russian-climate data.
The IEA believes that Russian meteorological-station data did not substantiate the anthropogenic global-warming theory. Analysts say Russian meteorological stations cover most of the country’s territory, and

“It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not deserve them.”—Mark Twain.
Twain’s observation is precisely the issue with the Nobel Peace Prizes given to Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The IPCC are now completely discredited because the ‘scientists’ at the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia controlled the data, the computer models and the press releases officially known as the Summary for Policymakers (SPM).
Their prizes were obtained for work deliberately falsified then used for policies that creates unnecessary hardship rather than peace. Equally disgraceful is how one prizewinner, Al Gore, distorted and falsified the distortions and falsifications of the other prizewinner, the IPCC.
Gore was already discredited, especially when his carbon footprint was found too big for his mouth. Other discredits include; the millions he made from his misdirection on carbon; failure to answer questions or participate in debate; character assassination of scientists who raised legitimate questions; the false claim that “the science is settled”, and failure to correct the major errors in his movie “An Inconvenient Truth”. Gore must have created a major dilemma for the IPCC and CRU.”

The pea in plain sight is best. Once it goes under a shell, hold on to your wallet.
We have traditionally held that “man is made in the image and likeness of God”; that is to say humanity shares enough in common with the truth to recognize it. But if they are constantly told they are or purposely moronized by a diet of celebrity news, then eventually they come to believe that they can’t see anything for themselves. And the crowds go to catch a glimpse of the mansion-abiding prophet. “My House has many mansions. And all of them are carbon-neutral. I go to prepare a carbon certificate for you.”
This is where the low-life man begins to feel edgy. He’s heard this line of patter before, probably at a sideshow in a carnival.

Richco at 3:06 pm:
Richco, excellent post!! Very informative.
Scanning a major Danish and a major Dutch newspaper for some time now and Canada is not even mentioned when the topic is about Copenhagen. Same thing when watching PBS in the US.
Apparently, the only bad mouthing of Canada in Copenhagen comes from the major Canadian media. It seems the major Canadian media has created a scenario whereby Canada is painted as the bad guy when it comes to global warming/climate change BS.
Some good news: the Danish prime minister who is taking over the lead at the Copenhagen meetings has stated that the earth has been cooling over the past ten years or so – that the science is not settled.

(Way to stand up for your country Mr. Mayor! Way to display pride at being Canadian).”
Joanne, outstanding article by Kelly!! Wow, talk about telling the truth!! Isn’t it so sad that our major media ignores the other side of the story. Again tonight, the CBC was one-sided with its stories.
How does Mansbridge sleep at night?? He goes after our forces about prisoner abuse day after day. When does he talk about our soldiers and the sacrifices they are making on a daily basis? Come Remembrance Day and he’ll be talking about our wonderful veterans. What a hypocrite!!
As for Miller, I’m “embarrassed” that he is a Canadian. Actually, as far as I’m concerned, he’s not. Imagine saying you’re ashamed of your country, and proclaiming it to the world, because your government has a different point of view concerning global warming/climate change and all the controversy surrounding it!! No, Miller is not a Canadian.
I’ve ignored it, but perhaps we should take a good look at Colvin’s statements.
”..Lieutenant‐General Gauthier commanded Canadian troops in Kandahar in 2002, and General Hillier commanded ISAF in Kabul in 2004.
It is implausible that they would not have known how Afghans treat their prisoners…”
How would Colvin know what the Generals knew 2002-2004?
He wasn’t posted there until 2006.
If it was common knowledge, then there were memos,
then the Martin Liberals knew what the Generals knew.
Which means the Liberal government entered into an agreement with the Afghans, knowing detainees would be tortured, no?
CBC News at 6:30am ET is asking for input on what PM Harper should commit to in Copenhagen.
Interestingly they picked a letter from ALBERTA (go figure) basically saying that ‘Canadians should step up to the plate and dig deep, regardless of China and India opting out, and the U.S. dragging its feet’.
I just know some folks here might want to share their views with CBC’s Point of View, like I just did.

Wilson, the more Colvin talks the more he’s going to lead to the Liberals.
Somehow find it hard to believe the real people of this country are putting the concern for the Taliban “detainees” above the credibility and concern for our Forces in the field.
Canada does not condone torture, that includes our Forces. It’s freaking stupendous to have Mr Colvin still drumming on it, still trying to disgrace our country and our forces, trying to have us labeled as war criminals. So some fell through the cracks while the forces were trying to survive to fight another day, what can be done about it? It’s all about politics, Liberal/Left gotcha politics. It does not belong on the Hill, it belongs to a Military tribunal, only they can iron this out. Mr Colvin appears to be on a mission, forgive us if we feel his mercy is suspect and at best misplaced. Army families are going through hell while their sons, husbands and fathers serve in Afghanistan, they don’t need this crap.

They don’t. This is purely political, gotcha politics and I am certain, without the Kadys and the Solomons and the Clarks, aiding and abetting, this would have gone no where.
This guy Colvin, seems to have an ax to grind and based on the EARLY days of all of this and the govt reaction, I think they will be able to prove it.
To the copenhagen climate addicts, and to my fellow canadian countrymen who are here today.
In 1999, the previous government of canada before me were the liberal party of canada, many of who are right here and so their media.
In 1999 that party under their previous leader Jean Chretien signed onto the KYOTO and to this day none of them had not nor made any attempt to follow through on the climate change.
Today, 2009 and only 4years in government my government bear the weight of CHRETIENS’ HYPROCRISY. We are blamed for what was never accomplished nor dealt with years ago.
And while I am at it. Let me also tell you that the previous government corrupt stole and support terrorist groups-that’s right folks.
So before any of those so call canadian reporters who are here simply to bash me and my country for their love of a corrupt liberal government. I ask and so do many canadians ” why are you not investigating the liberals and the millions of dollars which they stole from canadians.
Joanne, I know that the prime minister will not say things like that so in silence he wears the weight of the LIBERAL’S HYPROCISY.
Lieberal “gotcha tactics” whether they are pretending to be “unbiased reporters” or concerned politicians out to save the world? they slag our troops, our Country, the Conservative Party and our P.M. for messes they created, and did nothing about while they were in power.
HM PM Harper was asked by a “reporter” if “He loved Canada” In my opinion anyone who slags Canada or who is “embarrassed” because we won’t give the farm away to the “Stinkin’ U.N.” is a traitor! They are free to leave move to Cuba or Burundi whatever. For Quebec and Ontario to accept the equalization money the Oil sands create and go to Copenhagen to slag Alberta and Canada is unforgivable and won`t be forgotten. The very sight of a murderous old despot like Mugabe flappin’ his pie hole about his entitlements, he is the poster boy for how to ruin a Country and how giving aid with no controls is a very stupid, nasty thing to do. He ran everyone out of the country who knew how to run a farm or business, they were white but of course a black person cannot be a racist? According to Hedy (crosses are burning) Fry.
I guess I am gettin’ old I remember when the U.N. meant somethin`I remember when a Nobel prize was a real achievement. I can remember when reporters fact checked their stories, and reported the news, they never thought it was all about them or their prejudices. I want HM PM Harper to stand up for Canada, this entire Climate Fantasy is so bizarre, it is a phony trumped up crisis designed to hand over a significant portion of our sovereignty and treasure to the third world who will simply squander it . The jackals have gathered there is already an 8 Billion dollar fraud in Europe over cap and trading carbon credits, to me is like fat Al Gore paying a skinny man to go on a diet so he can continue to pig-out at the buffet.
I`m thinkin`that if a Lieberal is in favor of somethin` it`s either ileagel, imoral, or just plain disgustin`. I won`t forgive them for slaggin`our troops, or our Country.
To watch your own countryman like that fool Lizzy May bash her own country in paticular the ‘oil sands(the bread and butter)of this nation in the international scene, makes you wonder is she canadian does she love canada or does she care more for the mugabes who ruin their country, starve their own people for their own empire and greed.

O/T: Justin Trudeau on CJAD Montreal this morning with Andrew Carter, the morning host. He started off by saying all the right things. Then his true character shined through as he dissed PM Harper and the Conservative government. He used the usual Liberal rhetoric to put down our government, in other words BS. His responses do not give me the impression of a man with character, just the opposite.
Later, he was on the Tommy Schurmaker show. It seems like most of the callers into the show were people he knew. After listening to these people, you’d think he was God. How pathetic!! He praised Iggy and, surprise-surprise, he did not put down the idea of uniting the left.
Oh, yeah, one e-mailer asked Trudeau if Iggy should make a formal apology to the PM as the e-mailer figured he should. Trudeau sidestepped the question as he did others by going on and on making it difficult for the interviewer to interject. Now, that’s a true Liberal tactic. Anyhow, the impression he left was let’s just move on. Real character, yeah right!!
Ed, the host of the show to allow Trudeau say whatever he pleases without a comment from him(host) is as bad as Trudeau.
And the more of this we see, can be counted down as the liberal media.
I guess that the host of the show is proud to know that 80% of canada’s national debt is caused created by TRUDEAU SR. HIMSELF.
A dollar to a donut former Costa Rican President Jose Maria Figueres’ support for mob demonstrations is connected to Maurice Strong.
Mo Strong, with help from then-Canadian PM Paul Martin, and to the tune of about $13 million Canadian-taxpayer dollars, opened the United Nations-sanctioned University for Peace in a natural reserve in Costa Rica.
