John Stossel and Glen Beck make a good team! A great example to prove there’s no shortage of inanity out there thanks to the infiltration of the gospel of the save the planet GW loonies in all segments of a gullible society who must rely on a media with an agenda for information.

Anyone hear of any mainstream media outlet questioning money grabbers like Al Gore or Suzuki lately? Neither will debate Lord Monckton, that tells us they haven’t really got a handle on the subject they arrogantly profess to know all about; for them the science is settled on climatology, their version is it.

I really REALLY don’t understand the obsession with this issue. Most folks I know aren’t tuning in to watch the goings-on in Copenhagen because they’re not buying any of it.

I haven’t tuned in to any of it myself and don’t feel guilty or that I need to inform myself or anything like that.

Common sense tells me that Harper is playing this exactly right and I wouldn’t be surprised if others including the mighty B+ Obama. Why? Because in the end Canada is still sound economically and MAYBE, just maybe one of the reasons we’re weathering the economic storm better than other countries is that we are NOT giving in to the climate-change hype.

What is interesting is the stuff that was not in the news release. I was polled as part of this survey, and while there were certainly a number of questions about a potential coalition, there were also a number of questions about Climate Change. As in “what is your opinion of the science of climate change, are you following Climategate, and what do you think of it, do you believe the scientists”. Also some questions about trust. As in “who do you trust to report the news, generally and on on issues such as climate change : the media, the government, business, scientists.”

I guess the answers to these questions were not what The Star had wanted/expected.

    (AFP) – 8 hours ago

COPENHAGEN — Hundreds found themselves waiting in near-freezing cold on Monday to collect passes for the UN climate talks, as the sheer volume of people overwhelmed staff at the conference venue.

Police set up cordons to marshal the huge queue at around 10:00 am (0900 GMT) and temporarily closed the metro station next to the Bella Center, police spokesman Henrik Moeller Jakobsen told AFP.

“The police told us there would be around a six-hour wait to reach the accreditation desks,” an AFP journalist reported after joining the queue at around midday.

A police officer on duty at the conference centre said: “There are too many people and we can’t get them inside at the moment, that’s the problem.”

The temperature in Copenhagen just after midday (1100 GMT) was zero degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), with cloudy skies.

Negotiations for a new global agreement to combat global warming entered their second week on Monday, prompting an influx of new arrivals — notably from ministerial delegations. The conference ends Friday.

In total, 45,215 people — including delegates, journalists, lobbyists and campaigners — have registered for the conference, more than double the Bella Center’s maximum capacity of 15,000, the UN organisers told reporters.”

Canada waived that credit because forest fires dump way more co2 into the atmosphere than the forest draws in.

“Inconvenient truth for Al Gore as his North Pole sums don’t add up

There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was poleaxed by an inconvenient one yesterday.

The former US Vice-President, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, became entangled in a new climate change “spin” row.

Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.

In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”

However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.

“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.”

“The main cause of the hysterical response to the swine flu epidemic, according to reporters from the Danish newspaper ‘Information’, is not because it is so dangerous, but because of a strong public relations campaign by experts from WHO.”

“It is disturbing that many of the scientists who sit on various committees of WHO, are presented as ‘independent experts’, but they carefully conceal the fact that they receive money from pharmaceutical companies”, Professor of epidemiology, Tom Jefferson, who works at the Cochrane Center in Rome, told reporters.”

“The WHO is biased in their recommendations – says Professor Tom Jefferson. – Normal hygiene measures provide much greater effect than these little-studied vaccines, and at the same time WHO refers to the use of masks and hand-washing as a means to combat swine flu only twice in their documents. Vaccines and other medications are referred to 42 times!”

“A strong healthy immune system should be everyone’s focus for disease prevention. A diet rich in fresh, organic fruits and vegetables together with proper exercise has been reported as a much greater defense than vaccines that have not been properly tested.”

“The government of the Netherlands is conducting an emergency investigation into the activities of ‘Doctor Flu’. Dr. Flu is a Dutch doctor by the name of Albert Ostenhaus, who gained his nickname, after the vaccine Tami-flu, he has actively promoted mass vaccination of the population through WHO and the Western media. Recently it has become known that he receives a salary from several vaccine manufacturing companies.
