This new video from Tory Boy ties in well with the previous thread, but I felt it deserved a new post.
Enjoy!

No policies, no plan. That about sums it with Iggy.
Off topic and not good news for the Liberals;
As markets rally and positive second quarter earnings continue to roll in, North America’s best known bears are starting to show signs of cracking.
Nouriel Roubini, the New York University economics professor best known for predicting the global financial crisis back in 2006, said Thursday the U.S. recession will end later this year.
http://www.financialpost.com/story.html?id=1796746
Further to what Bruce said at #1, the level of the stock markets are going to be a key factor at election time.
First because older voters (who have a high voter participation rate) will feel good if their retirement portfolios are doing well. Drilling down into the .pdf of that
EKOS poll, we already have 44 % (vs 32 % for the Libs) of the age 65+ demographic.
Second, because there is going to be a spin war as to the TRUE state of the economy. We will quote the OECD and stuff like that. The Libs will trot out some bad unemployment numbers. But if the stock market is high, that is a nice simple number, that everyone will understand. Harper can bask in the glow of a high TSX.
didnt the libs already try spinning numbers last month with regards to unemployment figures. stat canada said that only 7500 jobs were lost in june and only 13000 in the last three months. the libs came out with a figure of 40000 or some shit for the month of june. someone made an error.
The first thing liberals have to do with all their computer programs is learn how to put a decimal point in where it belongs.
Two cdns were killed in that crash yesterday, why were they travelling on Iranian passports.
While you are gone, keep an eye out for Iggy.
I’ll be in Canada, so unlikely to run into him.
Which fish have to worry? The ones in the lake, or the water hazard?
Great video, the truth nothing but the truth!!
MaryT, your comments about Liberal rookies on Joanne’s previous post:
this morning Jason Kenny was a guest on CFRA Ottawa. He was interviewed by Mark Sutcliffe and took phone calls. His performance? Excellent!! He handled the questions with ease and gave intelligent, logical responses. His knowledge and confidence was readily apparent.
The Conservative members are slowly but surely coming to the fore showing their mettle. Ted Menzies, Jason Kenny, Vic Toews, Stockwell Day, and others are getting some exposure and demonstrating their value!! With experience, their confidence level has gone up. As a result, we’re having a Conservative government that is getting better all the time.
The Liberals remind me of our former Expos that play out of Washington now. If you look at their standings over the past two seasons or more, they are at the bottom of their division, of their National League, and of both leagues with the fewest wins by far. Worse, they have not improved one iota!! Just like the Liberals!!
Joanne, enjoy your weekend and rest!! Your posts continue to be brilliant!! I’d love to have some of that energy many here have!! LOL
HAHA!Priceless! The more the media spins it ,the more we call them on their BS.Thank God for the internet. And guess what?Throughout this “terrible” recession i still have a job!I guess im one of those fundamentals of the economy John Mccain was talking about eh?A message for the Americans-want to put the poor to work?Pay them minimum wage and clean up your cities. They are filthy.Start with the downtown cores and move out to the burbs.
lol! Swift – The perch at the restaurant on Lake Erie.
Red Tory is dead and buried in the PET Cemetery.
TORedStar has given space for a lengthy Eulogy, which has been partially exposed below*.
The Eulogy is by “Arthur Haberman is University Professor Emeritus of History and Humanities at York University”.
The tombstone, immediately to your left as “we” enter PET Cemetery, is pinko limestone with the epitaph:
Joe Who?

We are all the losers as Red Tories no longer have a prominent role in this country’s public life

I recently attended a university convocation ceremony at which an honourary degree was given to Joe Clark, celebrating his many contributions to Canadian politics and public life.
Clark delivered the convocation address and reminded all of us what a forceful public speaker he can be.”

Yup “Joe Who” is a good speaker, lousy leader, Trudeau’s best supporter, could see every leaf but not the forest. Red Tory = Liberal lite. Joe did everything he could think of to sabotage the real “Conservative” movement led by now P M Stephen Harper. His government went down to a motion he simply did not have the numbers to face. Poor math skills? Yes! He was a sincere and decent man, but no Leader, he never missed a chance to miss a chance. Watching him whinging about The P.C. Conservatives was painful, I always felt he thought he should have once again been Conservative leader, thank whatever Gods there be that never happened.
Iffy, his advisors and the media ALL were sooooooo sure the recession would toss out PMSH and Iffy would slide into the PM chair,
that Libs did nothing except set up a series of possible election dates (probation-report cards).
Now Iffy has sprung his own trap (as usual) and there is NO WAY Libs can avoid ‘wanting’ a fall election.
Will Dippers and Bloc agree?
One thing I am sure of, this Conservative Government is ready for an election.
Are Liberals?
The Iggy Clue-Crew is on the job.
Agent Richco reporting from Sherbrooke St., Montreal….no Iggy here either.
Hopefully Agents “west” have that part of the country covered, Agent Joanne mid-central Ontario

Have a great week Joanne you deserve some time off…just like the rest of us who try to stay away but can’t help but check in.
Don’t you wonder what it is about having to check in to blogs that makes us unable to go about our lives without it.
Starting Sunday my family is leaving all tech. toys at home.
Now that video’s gotta hurt.
Joe who? I seems to me that he’s spent more time in the Liberal party war room than he ever did as a Conservative.
Joey is just a bad loser who saw his blue liberal party fall in shambles. he’s never been able to come to grips with the idea, that Canadians want an alternative to the socialists.
Iggy’s Socialism = Procrustes*.

Waiting for policies from Ignatieff’s Liberals

This is bIg Iggy news.

“‘Bogus’ peacekeeping?
It wasn’t long ago that Michael Ignatieff had harsh words for Canada
‘Bogus’ peacekeeping?Michael Ignatieff, Liberal leader, is lavish in his adoration for the country and the people he wishes to lead. His recently published book, True Patriot Love, which dovetailed with his ascension to the Liberal party leadership, is replete with fuzzy bromides about Canada and its “quietly but intensely patriotic” citizens.
Yet Michael Ignatieff, Harvard professor and public intellectual, was once slightly more harsh toward his native land. Following a 2005 lecture at the University of Dublin’s Trinity College, Ignatieff excoriated Canadians for trading on Canada’s “entirely bogus reputation as peacekeepers” for 40 years and for favouring “hospitals and schools and roads” over international citizenship. “If you are a human rights defender and you want something done to stop [a] massacre, you have to go to the Pentagon, because no one else is serious,” Ignatieff said.
“It’s disgusting in my own country, and I love my country, Canada, but they would rather bitch about their rich neighbour to the south than actually pay the note,” he said, in response to a question about peacekeeping. “To pay the bill to be an international citizen is not something that they want to do.”
Ignatieff gave the lecture while he was director of Harvard’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy. The talk, which received brief mention in Canadian media at the time, reiterated Ignatieff’s belief that the U.S. is a force for good in the world. “Don’t forget that the speech given by a U.S. president that most committed the United States to the promotion of human rights and democracy in the Arab world was given by George W. Bush,” he said.”

I can just imagine the ‘ warroom’ in the liberal media asking “For how long are we going to protect the LPOC, when we know perfectly well what they did to the public. we cannot continue being made fools of in front of the public.Look what is happening, the public don’t buy our ‘liberal sing song’ anymore, they are turning to the blogs and discussing what we should have been doing for years. We cannot continue pretending and denying the LPOC corruption; the more we do; the deeper we go. we cannot preach the daily gloom and doom of the economy when in truth the markets are turning around and businesses are slowly picking up.
We cannot continue ‘hiding’ goods things the prime minister is doing for canadians and canada.”
The gremlin stopped by and approved some comments. I was off for a couple of days too but still had Internet access. So, since I am one of Joanne’s behind the scenes church mice, I decided to pop in. There are a couple of comments on this thread that I haven’t approved because there is some inflammatory stuff in them. So, if anyone has a comment that is not up, you’ll have to wait until the “boss” gets home.
Go home, Iggy. Your visit to Canada has expired.

69 per cent favour minister’s move to clamp down on flow of visitors from Mexico, Czech Republic
“More than two-thirds of Canadians support the federal government’s visa requirements for visitors from Mexico and Czech Republic, according to a new poll.
The Toronto Star/Angus Reid survey found 69 per cent agree with the visa requirements announced Monday, including 39 per cent who voiced strong agreement.
Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said the move was necessary to stem what the government believed was a tide of bogus refugee claimants from the countries in recent years.”

And now..for some really important news..I HAVE A BRAND NEW GRANDSON !!!!!
Congrats Sammy. That’s wonderful news!
Your right Sammy, that is important news, congratulations. Is this your first?
maz2 @ 7:26 , “Somewhere in the South of Fwance” Mr Ignatieff is wondering why us ” quiet but intensely patriotic citizens” will adopt as our default position “hospitals and schools and roads” when “shock and awe” would be so much more “Liberal”. Pretty rich considering how the party that parachuted Mr Ignatieff in as Leader, gutted and shortchanged our Military shamefully. But of course Mr Ignatieff was not a resident of Canada for the three plus decades that Trudeau, Chretin, Martin, were wasting our hard earned tax dollars on infrastructure. Or stuffing tax dollars into manila envelopes to be left in resturants, “saving Canada”
The LPOC really has really “gifted” the CPOC with Mr Ignatieff, you could not make this stuff up, Attack ads? we don’t need attack ads, the truth will set us free. Professors, don’t live in the real world, their “musings” don’t have consquences, they are tourists, really observing our “quaint customs” and sneering at the “nasal whine of our ethnic music” Mr Ignatieff is a perfect fit. An academic savant, whose wordy obfuscation is what passes for “wisdom” in the Liberal Party. Mr Dion must be looking pretty good about now. Enjoy, the only consolation the Liberal Party rank and file have is they didn’t vote for this man. Cold comfort IMO.

“REPUBLICANS FOR IGNATIEFF PRAISES MICHAEL IGNATIEFF FOR COURAGEOUS STANDS ON TARGETED ASSASSINATION & COERCIVE INTERROGATION
* In a landmark television interview, Ignatieff repeatedly embraces fellow Americans as “we”
* “We might even have to engage in certain forms of targeted assassination”
* Says subjecting terror suspects to stress, sleep deprivation and disorientation stays clear of torture
JULY 14, 2009 –At a time when the counter-terrorism policies and practices of the Bush Administration are under attack in Washington, Republicans for Ignatieff praises Michael Ignatieff for his courageous stands on targeted assassination and coercive interrogation.
In a landmark interview with veteran television interviewer Charlie Rose, Ignatieff calls on America to chart a path to make some hard choices:
“I am not sure we can keep to a pure civil libertarian position all the way. For example, we might have to engage in the preventive detention of suspects on lower standards than we use in a criminal case. We might even have to engage in certain forms of targeted assassination of terrorist enemies. These are evils in the sense that people get killed or people get hurt. We don’t keep to the fullest standards of due process but they avoid greater evils.”

” Documentary will tell the story of the Canadian Paratrooper
Film due for release on Nov. 11, 2010
CFB PETAWAWA – The proud history of Canada’s Airborne will finally be told in a full-length documentary movie scheduled for release next year.
“Paratroopers: The Canadian Story”, a 90-minute documentary now in production, will endeavour to be a definitive re-telling of seven decades of Airborne forces from the creation of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion and the first combat drop on Normandy to the Airborne Regiment’s critical role in Cyprus.
Crisscrossing the country recording interviews with veterans and former paratroopers, the film’s producers brought their cameras this week to CFB Petawawa, the regiment’s final home from 1978 to 1995.
For producer/director Dixon Christie, walking into the Airborne museum’s hall of remembrance, where the regimental colours are laid up, was like walking on hallowed ground.”

“Another great editorial — this one from the Windsor Star
It’s amazing to me how much momentum the drive to reform Canada’s human rights commissions has. Mark Steyn’s show trial was last June, and my own acquittal was last August. Yet here we are a year later, and the criticism of the HRCs is a daily event.
Today’s Windsor Star:
…the problem is that the CHRC is essentially the investigator, prosecutor and judge of complaints of racism and hate speech. The burden of proof under Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act is also subject to interpretation. It says it’s an offence to communicate anything “likely to expose a person … to hatred or contempt.”
Ezra Levant, who was the subject of an unsuccessful complaint before the Alberta after he published controversial cartoons of the prophet Muhammad, says CHRC’s standards make it an advocate of censorship.
“The word ‘likely’ is amazing. The CHRC doesn’t have to prove you’ve actually done anything, just that you might in the future,” says Levant. “And all they have to prove is that you said something that might cause one person to have hard feelings about another.”
And yesterday’s Montreal Gazette reprinted my expose of the Nazis at the CHRC — and another 125,000 households learn of the fraud that is the CHRC.”

The natural end result of the religion of socialism: equality, aka “Nobody is spared.”.
” … those tipping into demographic decline (unlike young Ireland) have an underlying cancer that is even more deadly.”
“The West cannot support its gold-plated state structures from an aging workforce and depleted tax base.”

“Fiscal ruin of the Western world beckons
For a glimpse of what awaits Britain, Europe, and America as budget deficits spiral to war-time levels, look at what is happening to the Irish welfare state.
Events have already forced Premier Brian Cowen to carry out the harshest assault yet seen on the public services of a modern Western state. He has passed two emergency budgets to stop the deficit soaring to 15pc of GDP. They have not been enough. The expert An Bord Snip report said last week that Dublin must cut deeper, or risk a disastrous debt compound trap.
A further 17,000 state jobs must go (equal to 1.25m in the US), though unemployment is already 12pc and heading for 16pc next year.
Nobody is spared. Social welfare payments must be cut 5pc, child benefit by 20pc. The Garda (police), already smarting from a 7pc pay cut, may have to buy their own uniforms. Hospital visits could cost £107 a day, etc, etc.
“Something has to give,” said Professor Colm McCarthy, the report’s author. “We’re borrowing €400m (£345m) a week at a penalty interest.”
No doubt Ireland has been the victim of a savagely tight monetary policy e_SEmD given its specific needs. But the deeper truth is that Britain, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the US, and Japan are in varying states of fiscal ruin, and those tipping into demographic decline (unlike young Ireland) have an underlying cancer that is even more deadly. The West cannot support its gold-plated state structures from an aging workforce and depleted tax base.”
