First we had Ignatieff.me and then IRuby.
Now it’s ElectMe. Well, at least the initials match.
(And they call Stephen Harper ‘arrogant’.)
I figured I’d start a new thread because everyone seems to be talking about it anyway.

The longer that Witchy Widget hangs around a riding the less chance she’ll have of winning it.
Her ignorance and arrogance knows no bounds as displayed in the bogus debate format set up before the last election. Pointing her fingers at the PM as if he were a nincompoop, showing not a shred of respect for him or his Office.
She set her fledgling party back, quite possibly to a point of no return.
I like Elizabeth May. There…I said it.
I’d never vote for her and I pretty much have an opposite view of everything she stands for, but, I like people who lay themselves out for voters and the media to tramp all over all in the name of something they believe in. She works hard and isnt afraid to be ridiculed. I think she’s earned the right to at least be heard. Compare EM with M.Ignatief. One has worked within Canada with very little to get her point of view across and the other had to be “talked into” returning. Sorry, but, I like quirky people with tons of passion. We need more EM’s and less MI’s.
Anyone who believes Lizzie, if elected, would not immediately cross the floor to the liberals, if they win. She wants to be a minister.
Unless they create a new ministership called, minister of stupidity, she doesn’t qualify for anything.
She should not be in the debates. And the PM should demand one on one debates with each leader. No 4 against one like last time.
And perhaps there should be a debate between the other leaders, without the PM. What would they do, if they actually had to come up with a platform.
I wonder if she was praying hard for the Coalition of Stooges? If they had been able to dupe the GG over the PM she may have had her keester in a seat with power. At least an appointment to the Senate may have been a possibility with her buddy Dion as PM.
should that not be “eMe”? It is a new on-line program about “e-whine” … electronic Elizabeth Whine … s/b be kept in the dark in the cellar at all times.
Lizzie Who?
Is she that Red-Greener behind the Green Mask?

Iggy has stated on numerous occassions that he gave up the opportunity to be PM of Canada, for the good of the Country. Does anyone really believe, that if the coalition has succeeded, with PM Dion, that Dion would have stepped down for Iggy. The only way Iggy can give up the opportunity to be PM is to allow PMSH to Govern for another 3+years, then face the voters. But, if he is giving up the chance to be PM, when will he resign as leader.
No one should have to tolerate Elizabeth May in a debate but then we shouldn’t have to tolerate the leader of a regional party either.
Only in Canada, the country that’s slogan should be, ” We INSIST you feel ENTITLED or we as a country, HAVE FAILED”
should that not be “eMe”?
eMe it is. Perfect!
Lizzie writ this spin* and the AGW cliches* all by herself alone without a concordance.
Grade: F.
The AGW propaganda machine spins, spins, spins …
Spot the AGW cliches:
“Lizzie May”, “climate change”, “global warming”, “normal weather”, “weather experts”, “disturbing trend”, and the favourite: “canary in the mine shaft”, and etc.
…-
*”Is climate change behind drought?”
“To make matters even bleaker, some weather experts say: “We haven’t seen the worst of it.”
Nobody can point with any authority to global warming as the culprit. It does not move from normal weather to abnormal weather in a straight line. One bad year does not climate change make. But there is a disturbing trend here that meshes with predictions from climatologists who fear we’re headed into more and more climate trouble–2008 was a particularly bad year for hail damage in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. If this is indeed evidence of climate change, farmers must feel as if they’re the canary in the mine shaft.”

Time for a laugh. Watching cbc Living in Calgary, with closed caption on. Lady says I am going to give you tips on what to do with a -shady area-. What come across the screen,
shad diareha.
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Yes folks think back to the “great debate” nothing less than a “dogpile” on our PM he took the squalling and finger pointing better than most people without losing his composure, kudos to him. As events played out, the Coalition of Idiots the coup attempt was already in the cards. As far as the format went, you can’t tell me it was “happenstance” that put that put Elizabeth May right next to our P M in both debates, a smarmy setup IMO. The performance, screeching when others had the floor, her utter lack of grace or manners was beyond belief, I think she put the Greens back 25 years.
Now Job #1 is to elect ME, ME, ME. I would like to ask WHY, WHY, WHY ? if I was Green. To think that as there are no Green MP’s that if she thinks she should be in any debate is laugable, I want the 1.95 per vote pulled. The Bloc and Green party would be on oxygen IMO. Get the PM’s office to insist on a “real debate” one on one, if it is another dog pile style I won’t be watching it. Our P M should not be attending it.
My favorite Elizabeth May Moment was a quote I will share.
“I am getting very tired of discussing my electoral prospects with National Media who talk to me as if I was delusional or ignorant”
Gee Lizzy, ya think?
Elizabeth May, Canada’s worst nightmare!! We’re great at banning stuff here. How about banning ignorant, arrogant, loud-mouthed, obnoxious, rude, dis-respectful, etc., etc.. Now, let’s see, who fits the image??
May should never have been in the last farce of a debate. It was a total set-up. They should go back to the traditional debate set-up.
As for May, there’s no way she should be there. What a farce, win the only seat for your party and you get to join the debate!! You should need 10, 15 or 20 seats to be recognized at the table.
Hopefully, Canadians will be prepared to nip this in the bud the next time it occurs!!
PETER WORTHINGTON’s article points out that May is awaiting assurances from the CBC and CTV that she would be included in any future leaders’ debates. Unbelievable, that woman!!
The trouble is we know where the media is coming from. There is no way this should be permitted. It would be a travesty of justice just as it was the last time!! So, CBC and CTV, the answer is NO, NO and NO!!
Oh, yeah, took a look at the Sunshine Girl. Now, that is nice!! LOL
O/T Just heard on the local CTV that they’re demanding that the Calgary rodeo be banned from tv. This is getting ridiculous. I’m going back to Lowell Green’s island of sanity!!
I think MaryT or Soccermom noted this absurdity on an earlier post.
I hope CTV, CBC and Global think twice about allowing Elizabeth May into any leadership debate.
With both her and Iggy in the same room at the same time there would be enough narcissism and arrogance in the room to possibly suck the life out of everything for miles around.
It is really a public safety issue.
“One wonders how the membership of the Greens will react to their new priority to get May into the House of Commons.”
I have said it before and I say it again: taxpayer subsidies kill democracy; they do not enhance it. Handing fringe groups gobs of free money is a sure way to entrench power into the hands of a few people at the top and at the expense of the grass roots.
Lizzie and her small cabal can afford to thumb their noses at the rest of the green movement if they choose. They no longer need volunteers and “builders” at the riding level doing politics the old fashioned way. It’s no longer about earning support and building a movement one door at a time.
The message is clear. If you are a candidate who has managed to build success at the riding level, your hard work is about to be confiscated by Lizzie and her entourage for “the good of all.”
The Green Party is now just another Liberal Party, existing simply to further the ambitions of a few at the top. It’s all about money and power now.
True believers need no longer apply.

“They” as in the 20 protesters outside of the Stampede Grounds? This hit the local CTV news in your neck of the woods? Wow too funny.
CTV, must be desperate for material because they sure as heck wouldn’t give that kind of coverage to a pro-life demonstration, now would they?
Baby cows vs baby people. Hmmm…
AS far as ‘eMe’ goes, I love the idea of the PM debating everyone individually. That would be a hoot or what about a round robin?
Only in Canada!
Just compare and contrast the two ladies in the news today: Lizzie May and Sarah Palin.
No competition on whom I would vote for if given the chance…
This is also the religion and agenda of Lizzie and her Greens.
Read her speeches, MSM articles, website, etc. Read the Green Party platform. It’s there.
AddenduMay: The Green Nazi Hell and Canada’s Future?
…-
“Anti-Semitic Greens, The Green Nazis, The Green Agenda”
“The Green Nazi Hell and America’s Future?
Some 100 years before the Nazis rose to power, German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) ominously wrote that “we owe the animals not mercy but justice, and the debt often remains unpaid in Europe, the continent that is permeated with Foeter Judaicus…it is obviously high time in Europe that Jewish views on nature were brought to an end…the unconscionable treatment of the animal world must, on account of its immorality, be expelled from Europe.”
That such words became prophetic under the umbrella of a secular religion of nature that was Nazi Germany, colored by an environmental totalitarian view during the 1930’s and 40’s, is a historical truth that has been underappreciated-and unreported-for too long.
There was in fact a convergence between early German environmentalism and Nazism that is stunning with regard to how the Nazis promoted nationalistic ecological ideas, yet also found themselves unable to match in practice the green rhetoric they were espousing for a variety of reasons.
Thus while it may be true that from the perspective of modern environmental historians, the Nazis were not nearly as green as they said they were, there was one aspect of their nationalistic environmental campaign that was accomplished with brutal efficiency -the elimination of the Jews-which in the eyes of the Nazis was the first necessary step, if not the most important.
While Schopenhauer could not have anticipated the green sacrificial offering of the Jews in the gas chambers of places like Dachau where organic farms were planted nearby to feed Himmler’s SS troops, the Nazis never asked him “how” to expel the Jews from Europe. Only the turning tide of the war prevented the Nazis from finishing the job that Schopenhauer prophetically announced 100 years earlier. While Schopenhauer would have undoubtedly been aghast at how literally the Nazis fulfilled such anti-Semitic ambitions, Hitler called Schopenhauer a genius.
Here begins the lesson of a nationalistic racism and environmentalism that got hotwired together into an explosive political ecology that eventually dug a biological-ecological hole as deep as Auschwitz.”

maz2 @ #20
maz2, brilliant!! Keep those articles coming.
I’ve read that, about 20 years before Hitler came to power, there was widespread practice of euthanasia, infanticide, and abortion in German hospitals. Children with mis-shaped ears and bed-wetters were killed. Those that did not measure up to state standards were disposed of. The value of human life diminished. The state decided what lives were of value and those that were not. The state rules, that sounds familiar in some circles today. I’m thinking about some of your previous posts.
Bec @ #18
Bec, the station did a poll during the telecast. 64% believe the rodeo is cruel to animals. I couldn’t believe it. Then again, you get a small group using several browsers and computers to vote numerous times. I didn’t catch the total number of votes but it’s usually quite low. I bet few have ever been to a rodeo. And, then again, maybe another eastern media jab at the west. The west is the enemy you know, the big threat is the west these days.
It’s sad that, when we have a PM from the west, that will not do in some circles. Well, if PM Harper is an example of a westerner, then as an easterner, I say let’s have many more leaders from the west because they exhibit a true Canadian spirit!! So take that, you Liberals!! LOL
do we really need more green commies in this country?
