Where’s the media outrage?

Good for Lorrie Goldstein.  In today’s column, he  exposes the MSM bias in the U.S. about how the EPA appears to have muzzled the findings of two of its own researchers – Towing the Obama Line.

This is a must-read on so many levels. Lorrie contrasts the media outrage accusing  George Bush of censoring expert opinion on climate change, but  Barack Obama seems to be getting a free pass. Instead the news cycle is focusing on  Michael Jackson 24-7.  Is that all that matters to Americans?

Goldstein details the sequence of events that seem to demonstrate that the new administration only wants to hear evidence that favours its political agenda:

It raises concerns the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tried to suppress the opinions of two of its own researchers — an economist and an environmental scientist — that the EPA was unwisely rushing into declaring carbon dioxide a pollutant, based on outdated and disputed scientific research on climate change.

According to e-mail records, these conclusions, contained in a 98-page report by 38-year EPA veteran Alan Carlin, an economist and lead author, and 26-year employee John Davidson, an environmental scientist, appear to have sent the EPA into a panic…

( . . . )

…On March 17, McGartland e-mailed Carlin that he had decided not to forward his concerns because: “The time for such discussion of fundamental issues has passed for this round. The administrator (Obama appointee Lisa Jackson) and the administration has decided to move forward on endangerment, and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision … I can only see one impact of your comments given where we are in the process, and that would be a very negative impact on our office.”

It’s actually a very frightening story, and is particularly relevant in terms of how Canada is now forced to toady the Obama party line, which is likely going to negatively affect both the U.S. economy and ours.

Truth seems to have become a casualty in the war on carbon.

Where is Fat Al hiding out these days?

Unlike the typical sock-puppet talking-point-spewer, I use my own head when judging so-called expert opinion. It is just as I suspected – the opinions which see the light of day are somehow tailored to suit a specific agenda. By muzzling opposing experts’ views, the EPA is commiting fraud.

So much for experts. I’ll use my own head, thank you very much.

Last night Glenn Beck had a list of corporations ready to profit BIG TIME from having cap and tax passed. Among the huge corporations involved: GE and DuPont, among many many other famous names. Even Chrysler Corp. (with their hands on ours and U.S. taxpayer money) have their stake in this. I wish I could find the link, but can’t seem to.

The agenda here is money and lots of it. Makes so-called “Big Oil” look like paupers.

Of course they have ever incentive to keep this fraud going. They see a huge payday coming.

Meanwhile, Big Al also gets fatter and wealthier by the day. I would think Suzuki does too (well maybe not fatter, but wealthier).

Jack at Jack’s Newswatch had an update on his story from yesterday: Canada and Japan blocking climate deal:

Finally a tidbit of good news?

Wait till the american home owner discovers they can’t sell their home without an enviro inspection, and must renovate and purchase new appliances before they can sell.
Waxman got that in the bill. Good thing for Waxman he got ill before he rams the health care bill thru.
And, nowhere in the discussion of their health plan is it mentioned that Canada’s provinces have their own plans, and some provinces charge premiums for same. And, also, benefits are taxed in Canada. But, our yearly premiums are nowhere near what a years coverage in the US costs.

Frankly, I don’t see that as good news. They are trying to embarrass the ‘laggards’.

  7. Soccermom says:

Well I’m glad Canada is a laggard in this case, Joanne.

  8. Joanne says:

Me too, when laggard = common sense.

An “Inconvenient Voice” – here is a Fox News video of Alan Carlin, the guy who wrote the report the EPA tried to hide, from Michelle Malkin’s blog:

Fox news, just likened the muzzling of the dissenting opinions, to the Watergate scandal.

Whoo hoo, this could become very interesting.

There has been discussion about homeowner rebates for lower income homeowners. This will become crazy if allowed to continue.

Barrack Obama Administration = An extremely bankrupt USA.
    He is becoming, frightning.

  12. Soccermom says:

So the mid to higher income people will be paying twice the shot: their own carbon taxes and those of lower income people.

    Lunacy, all of it.

    SOS:

PM Harper, please get down to Washington and set the President straight on this global warming/climate change fraud. Surely, he’ll listen to your words of wisdom. :-) Bring along some of our expert climatologists, etc. who know the score. Actually, bring along Lowell Green who has done great research on the issue for a good number of years!!

  14. Joanne says:

I just tuned in to Rutherford. He seems to be talking about this now.

O/T to let you all know that I just updated the Harper gov’t record here on the Header Bar, at CoTM and JN. Will also be putting up an updated post at CoTM.
