But, but, but…

Isn’t it just a ‘blob of tissue‘?

Legislature Limbo Rock

How much lower can Dalton McGuinty set the performance bar for his ministers?

“Mr. McGuinty stood by Mr. Fonseca and told reporters he has no intention of asking him to resign. In fact, he said, Mr. Fonseca and Ms. Wynne went beyond the call of duty by playing host to the public meeting where about 30 live-in nannies, including Ms. Gordo first told her story.”

Yep.  Lip service and a photo-op will solve all our problems.

Dhalla worker paid under tableStar:

…The tryout turned out to be long hours on her knees scrubbing and cleaning floors, hand washing and ironing clothes, and shining dozens of pairs of shoes belonging to the entire family, Alvarez says.

“I had to polish their shoes … for Miss Ruby and her brother,” Alvarez said in an interview from western Canada, where she is now living and working. “She has a lot of shoes, downstairs and upstairs.”

Alvarez said she never worked less than 12-hour days, and was “paid under the table” for the nine days she worked there. She described the work as backbreaking and Dhalla’s mother, Tavinder, as a hard-driving taskmaster…

Worst. Lawyer-dominated presser. Ever.”

For once, I have to agree with Kady.

…Will the scandal cause residents to consider voting for someone else? “I think I will yes,” concedes one future ballot-caster. “Because her whole platform was on fairness to immigrants.”

“It’s very hard to even think about voting for a Liberal the next time,” agrees Alicia Shaw…

Saturday Update: The Fonseca sideshowStar:

Fonseca is guilty only of lacking the political savvy to recognize that the mention of Dhalla at the meeting could become a hot potato and that he needed to take steps, such as alerting the Premier’s Office, to protect himself.

Yes, it would be interesting to know when Dalton McGuinty did actually find out about it.
