Pretty darn low, it would seem.
The National Post slags Michael Ignatieff for starting off his leadership campaign by attacking Conservatives as acting with "dishonesty, incompetence and something close to bigotry and racism":
"We do not want a Canada where the colour of your skin, the language that you speak, the country you originated from determines how well you survive this economic downturn," Mr. Ignatieff declared. Liberals, he added, "are going to fight for all Canadians to get the same shot at the economic dream."
The Post goes on to shoot down that ‘argument’ quite effectively.
Is this an example of the kind of rhetoric we’re going to have to listen to until the Liberal Leadership convention? A platform of attack that is devoid of any new ideas?
Is this Iggy’s strategy or is someone giving him bad advice behind the scenes? The Post analyzes the situation:
"It’s a desperate-seeming strategy, even if certain tired elements within the Liberal party — ageing spin doctors seeking to recapture their glory days of smearing Stockwell Day — haven’t gotten tired of it. Why, one wonders, is Mr. Ignatieff taking tactical cues from the Adscam-era demagogues who gave his party such a bad name in the first place?"
Now who would that ‘ageing spin doctor’ be, I wonder?
Obviously, Michael Ignatieff is still stuck in the old ways of thinking and hasn’t learned a thing. He is poorly equipped to lead the Liberal Party.
I can only concur with the Post:
Slagging the Tories as a bunch of lying racists serves no purpose, and is an insult to all Canadians. If this is the kind of campaign that Mr. Ignatieff has in mind, all we can say is: Advantage, Bob Rae.

Update: Witness the New Ignatieff – Ivison (Post):
Michael Ignatieff wandered into the news conference to announce his leadership bid for the Liberal party and flashed that pained, indulgent smile, such as a Harvard professor might give a particularly dim student …
Oh that was sweet, John. Excellent description.
Lively discussion also going on at Jack’s Newswatch where this post has been picked up as Jack’s Daily Blogger selection today. Thanks as always, Jack! (And thanks to Mary T for letting me know.)
I love this comment by Voca at Jack’s: "…And, we already know how low the Liberals can go. Pooping Puffin Low – what a rotten thing to do to a cute bird". Good point, Voca.
Beam him out, Scotty!

And here is my effort to endorse Bob Rae as the best choice for the Liberal Leadership – Rae can be proud of his ‘baggage’ – Angelo Persichilli. Angelo has convinced me that Bob Rae is a man who can learn from his mistakes and grow.

Afternoon Update: In case you missed it last night on MDL, Joy McPhail and Monte Solberg were discussing Igatieff’s announcement. Joy said she gets the ’same feeling of despair’ with Iggy as she did with Stephane Dion, in that they’re too alike; too ‘esoteric’ ; too ‘head in the clouds’. ..
Really worth watching.

Evening Update : Jason Kenney is really putting the lie to Ignatieff’s remarks right now (8:20 p.m.) Watch live on CPAC.
Related: Fascinating column by Tom Flanagan – Courting the Fourth Sister. (H/T WCT in comments. Thanks so much, Teddi. I would have missed this one.)

Craig Oliver has all but “crowned” this man. He states the liberal party along with the fact he has made his mark on Canadians politics now because he has served a few weeks in our House of Commons. This man spent his entire working life in the U.S. – and now he thinks he has the “right” to come back here and tell us how to run our country!. I would think the liberal media would be all over this one – they pounced on Stephen Harper saying he did everything George Bush wanted done – now they are ready to jump on Michael’s bandwagon permitting him to push all the U.S. ideas and they are ready to promote this as the best thing since sliced bread!. I guess it depends what party is bringing the U.S. ideas to Canada that counts, especially with the liberal media! -
Craig Oliver needs to start thinking about retirement.
I find it rather hypocritical actually for the Liberals who said after the election that they needed to take their time with selecting a new leader and give their grassroot supports more input into things.
They aren’t doing that now are they? Typical of a party that says one thing and does another.
Ivison’s column is exactly correct, absolutely nothing’s changed, the Liberals are re-gifting Iggy and in my opinion if Kinsella’s advising Iggy to go negative right out of the starting gates, it will turn those same Liberal grassroot supports right off who actually trusted their party to listen to them for once.
I like how Mr. Kinsella’s nicely cherry-picked one or two lines out of what are really not very encouraging media bits today. Better yet, that the blogging conservatives are filling in what he has conveniently chosen to leave out – thanks Joanne!
More encouraging for Conservatives should be what transpired in Winnipeg last evening with the unveiling of the CPC’s secret weapon and the PM’s very good speach that really DOES give folks confidence in their country in a most positive way.
stay at home parents are denied an economic future under the Liberal policies, and on top of that they are forced to pay for pensions, daycare, health care and much more of families who make a lot more money than them
It’s obvious the Liberals are in pain. Speaking of aging spin doctors, guess who’s spinning for Iggy?
When there’s no substance, attacking the Conservatives, no matter how pathetic, and it is pathetic, is all they have.
Don’t know exactly hos Oliver sees Ignatieff as the eventual “winner” with LeBlanc in on the contest. Can’t imagine Leblanc, Chretien’s godson, would let down a Power Corps candidate.
Pass “The Lemire Resolution” (P-203) and it will all start to stick.
Mr. Ignatieff just looks sinister. I would also agree that he’s very hard to watch and listen to at the same time. His students must get motion sickeness.
I personally think that in a replay of the last Liberal leadership race the underdog will come up through the middle and snag the crown. I see the underdog as LeBlanc, and I’m quite surprised that Warren would back a good old boy over a fellow who has youth on his side.
Perhaps Iggy’s pockets are deeper and this is less about politics than it is about business?
This crap about CPC being racist is so out of line. The CPC should take the Libs to the HRC over that. Unless I am mistaken, the CPC does comprise people of different cultures, skin tones, gender, etc. This racist bit of the Libs really has to go. I think a complaint to the HRC or a law suit would be in order. It angers me so much.
Hypocrite – thy name is Liberal.
Congrats again for being picked up at JNW.
I have finally realized who Iggy reminds me of when he is on TV. Vincent Price in those old horror movies. I think LeBlanc should be the choice, he is young, good looking and has time to rebuild the party from the ground up. But, Iggy or Rae would be the liberals Kim Campbell.
DO YOU GUYS SMELL IT-I smell the OBAMA-LIKE campaign starting to creep up. race card used, intellect been used and so on. Yet the very note the liberals scream on the economy is the very party that stole from this country, from the poor, the middle and the rich the military, education, healthcare and so on………
Their MSM has reach rock bottom when they continue to support this party even when they know what the liberals did for thirteen years.STEAL.
The liberals knows exactly where to attack: the immigrants, the iliterate, the lazy bums and dumb fools like the MSM.
I suspect that the whole racist stuff is actually more about the little boys spat between Ezra L. and Warren K.
and not at all where Mr. Ignatieff should go if he truly believes in uniting his party and bringing the grassroot “every man” up by his/her bootstraps.
I simply think Iggy’s the wrong choice for what Mr. Dion said his party would focus on.
The Liberals are pretty much still undefined. That will hurt them in the long run I think. Unless of course the whole party and the supporters WANT a campaign mired in racism, taking the party and the country down that path is just wrong-headed.
The racist card is to sand bag their last three bastions: Immigrant filled Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver who are all slowly turning Conservative from the results of many close races in the last election. It’s panic. If they loose these cities, they are toast. Game over. Asta la vista.
Plus, playing to the Obamamania does not hurt. It’s almost a subliminal tactic but seeing how the North American population has become so vacuous and apathetical towards their responsabilities towards a taken for granted democracy, it might have some traction.
Remember, the youth vote was high in the States for Obama. The younger the voter, the most likely he/she will choose pie in the sky. It’s not their fault. They are already indoctrinated by the education system and pop culture.
So, if Iggy accuses the Conservatives to be racist and it’s in the news it must be true. “How dare Harper be racist when Obama won the hearts and hope of the world!”
That’s what the left does best. The MSM keeps the uninterested to begin with masses ignorant, the education system indoctrinates and the lefty Liberals/Democrats exploits it.
I almost did not read this as much as I like you guys.
However I have and as per usual I am so disgusted.
The love fest marathon (the msm regulars) has been our daily digestion since the election but this attack is over the top.
Have they learned nothing? Will they learn nothing?
This guy was the one that I thought if I had to tolerate a Liberal, he would be the one. Sorry, he is as big a hypocrite as they come.
Fortunately I think he will come across as a controlling, intellectual father. Grandfather, in 5 years…. Same reasons that McCain had problems.
Craig Oliver needs to start thinking about retirement.
Joanne: Craig is thinking of retirement. He’s pumping for the Liberals to help them get back power so he can be the next Governor General. That’s a nice retirement gig, n’est pas?
I’m quite surprised that Warren would back a good old boy over a fellow who has youth on his side.
I’m not. Iggy was the only one to ask Kinsella to come out and play. So of course they’re now B.F.F.s.
“… if Iggy accuses the Conservatives to be racist …”
That is a “traditional” Liberal accusation, but the PM, in his speech to the Conservative delegates at the convention being held in Winnipeg, reminded the audience of the many firsts accomplished under CONSERVATIVE governments: first black, first woman, first aboriginal, first Canadian-Japanese in cabinet, among others.
As Joanne pointed out from the National Post editorial, Mr. Ignatieff has already embarked on that IGnominious ship – the racist accusation. Yet these are the guys who claim they want civil discourse.
Racist!? racist!? who is writting this CRAP for “the aging Obama wanna be”? Hedy Fried? Pathetic is the word that comes to mind. If this is “the Liberano dream candidate” someone’s med’s need adjusting this smarmy attempt to define his opponent is soo “Paul Martinesq” next he will be moaning and pissing about the lack of “hope” and ” change” Big flash to th “Iggster” you won’t be running against anyone until you actually win something. Craig Owlever likes him so what? Iggy likes Craig it is comforting to have someone around that is older than him. B T W do you still owe money Iggy? I know fugeddabouddet just like adscam right? Retread, attack the P M, pose for the cameras, should be a few laughs here, but .. kinda embarassing. I mean everyone else is focused on helping out with the financial situation, the Lieberanos, well “it’s all about us all the time”.
cheers Bubba
Brilliant MaryT ” goood evennning ladies and gentelmen welcome to the house of Lieberanoos” He won’t even need makeup, hey! he could use Craig Owlever as a kinda “mini-me” HOOOWAAA
cheers Bubba
What do Ivison and you have against academics exactly? Did they give you two failing grades that you haven’t forgiven them for?
Yes Iggy does remind me of vincent Price, he is very scary to look at and his lies about conservatives are unforgiveable. He should go back to the States and play the part of DARCULA.
If the liberals are hoping to play off Obamamania I believe they will be severely disappointed.
The next election probably won’t be for 2 years or so. By then the bloom will be off Obama – a spent force. It’ll be like chasing a fad..
Craig Oliver, Mike Duffy, Robert Fife, Don Newman, Galloway, Mansbrige, Jane Taber all want to be the leader of the leader of liberal party. All of them are taking puck shots at each other to see who speaks the best for the liberal party while we see the ‘war’ between them.
To be honest with you, it is really funny to watch these so-call reporters speak highly of a party that stole from the nation.
What do Ivison and you have against academics exactly?
Saskboy, I have nothing against academics as long as they stay in their classrooms, where they are able to inflict enough damage without letting them loose in politics.
Ignatieff has had a good bit of time to reflect since his last attempt at the leadership of the listing Liberal ship. Sadly, he’s picked up nothing, he’s reduced to slagging Mr. Harper and his government.
Kinsilly should know better, Martin pulled that strategy and lost. Alas, Kinsilly was not a fan of Martin, perhaps he didn’t notice.
Everything he’s mouthing off is exactly the opposite of the facts. He’s farther out of touch than ever. His party is as divided as ever as well.
‘May be wrong but the winning team at the end of the contest will be the Power Corps boys, Rae, bucked up by LeBlanc, Chretien’s godson. Iggy will be off to Bean Town.
See: Courting the Fourth Sister by Tom Flanagan (at NNW and others) today. Flanagan lays out the Harper strategy and gives the “reason” for Iggy’s comments.
Smears of bigotry and racism against the PM are exactly what Ignatieff produced in the last campaign, so why is anyone surprised. Oh I guess he was supposed to be “above” that sort of thing. It may play well within the Liberal Party, but I don’t think ordinary Canadians like that sort of accusation, and it certainly begs the question as to which country Ignatieff thinks he is in.
As far as Bob Rae is concerned, Joanne, be careful what you wish for. I have just finished Thomas Walkom’s book “Rae Days”, which surgically slices up the NDP government’s mercifully brief tenure. Would thoroughly recommend it to political junkies, and for those who think it might be at all complimentary, Walkom thinks Rae is simply not far enough left.
And Craig Oliver is not the only one who should start thinking about retirement. Yesterday Don Newman proudly informed his adoring audience that Ignatieff has now been elected THREE times to Parliament. In 2004, in 2006 and now again in 2008. Talk about revisionism.
“I still think the President is right when he says that Iraq and the world will be better off with Saddam disarmed, even, if necessary, through force.” – Michael Ignatieff, New York Times, March 31, 2003
Lest we forget!
“We do not want a Canada where the colour of your skin, the language that you speak,”etc. etc. etc.
I’m confused. Is this Canada Iggy’s talking about?? Doesn’t sound like it to me.
Yawn.
Lest we forget!
Orville, yeah we’ve got lots of ammo on this guy.
I’m confused. Is this Canada Iggy’s talking about?? Doesn’t sound like it to me.
Soccermom, I agree. His criticisms and rants are totally out to lunch. There isn’t even a grain of truth there. It’s amazing how many Liberals are jumping on this bandwagon though, because they are so desperate to reclaim the power and they think this American professor is their messiah.
Every Canadian should take issue with having their intelligence insulted by that comment of implied racism. First of all, it is so obvious that he’s borrowing from Obama’s campaign strategy. Secondly, he is stating the obvious in a weak attempt to scare people.
What he said is almost like saying, “I believe in a Canada where women are allowed to vote and have employment if they so choose.” He’s stating a truism in such a way as to imply some Conservatives might disagree with him.
“We do not want a Canada where the colour of your skin, the language that you speak, the country you originated from determines how well you survive this economic downturn.” Who does, Iggy? Nobody. Obviously.
I loved Shamrock’s characterization of the Liberal Party at SDA with the terminology, “caricature of a party”.
More Iggy in the Post. Man, this guy is a total jerk. The CPC should sue the jerk for his unfounded and slanderous accusations.
http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fullcomment/archive/2008/11/14/kelly-mcparland-michael-ignatieff-in-four-profiles-and-a-speech.aspx
West Coast Teddi – the “fourth sister” article does indeed spell out very clearly for me why Iggy’s trying to scare folks with the racism pap – it’s because it is HE who is afraid of Harper because if it’s one thing we know about the PM he can get things done and in courting that “fourth sister” and the “fourth sister”
moves closer to Harper as a result it makes the Liberals angry.
You really need to read it.
…Who does, Iggy? Nobody. Obviously.
Good point, Steph. It’s all pointless rhetoric.
What a blowhard.
It appears Iggy and Kinsella are two elections behind. The racist card workerd well fo the Liberal’s in the past, but the effects began to diminish in the 2004 election, and then moreso in the 2006 election. The most recent election saw a tide of the ethnic vote the Liberal Party counted on in the past and then did nothing for saw the light, and switched to the Conservative Party.
The PM and his party have done quite a bit since taking power in 2006, including issuing apologies and correcting injustices done throughout the years, and also with reforms in immigration policy. Jason Kenney has done a wonderful job reaching out to various ethnic communities.
So sorry Warren, next election the only stuffed animal you can roll out to the media will be a Puffin. Watch you don’t get any on you.
We have to stay on this. Ignatieff has insulted and smeared all Conservatives, the Prime Minister of this country and in fact all Canadians. Politics does not give license to falsely accuse people without foundation. It’s pure lies and innuendo.
How does he get the idea he’s running against Mr Harper from the position he’s in now, a Liberal MP? Seems to me he has to get to be leader of the Opposition first.
We need the Conservative Party to demand an outright apology from him to all of us.
“Saskboy, I have nothing against academics as long as they stay in their classrooms, where they are able to inflict enough damage without letting them loose in politics.”
That’s what I thought. Grudges against smart politicians/people will not get you anywhere in life. Smart people run the world. So long as they are also kind, you really can’t ask for a better leader. You don’t want your (our) leaders to be outsmarted by other ones. That is essentially why the States are in the pickle they are in now, they had a really dumb top level leader who couldn’t plan his way out of a financial crisis if he had a proper budget to do it with.
Apology? No, LizJ – sorry to disagree – the CPC should sue the pants off the guy for such a scurilous, slanderous, unfounded lie. This is a Lib smear and, frankly, I am sick of their lies. Why does our PM or party not start fighting back and fighting hard. Sorry – I’m so sick and tired of all the Lib BS and lies – I had enough of it during the race in Halton and I figured that it would die down now that we won the election. I am steamed – really steamed. Iggy is an ignoramus. I would like to really say what I feel but this is a public forum and there are ladies who frequent it so I won’t go any further. Argh.
SaskBoy — Everyone puts up with me all the time. In fact, we all get along just fine. True I am a conservative blogger (Crux of the Matter) and retired, but I don’t keep it a secret. I too was an academic. True, not known like Iggy and Dion, but as Martha Stewart would say, “that is a good thing.”
My response to Saskboy is to watch the MDL link on the update.
Is there an e-mail address or web site for iggy that we can bombard with requests for an explanation of the lies he mentions, or the racism, or the other outrageous lies he told. He must be made to answer for these, and an apology is not enough. He should decide not to run for the leadership. And he should be told there is no election on at the present and he can’t be running against PMSH. The soonest he could be running against PMSH is June 2009. If he is not running against Rae or LeBlanc, why is he in the race. He should remember that 1000s of liberals did not vote for a liberal on Oct 14, but for PMSH by abstaining. We need a blogburst to make his explain all his statements or get our of the race.
BTW, I should have qualified my earlier reponse to Saskboy by saying that not all academics should stay away from politics…
Sorry Sandy.
But some don’t seem to be able to deal with the real world very well.
When I figured out what MDL was, I turned it off. He’s not worth my time anymore.
Your URLs don’t come up in my status bar, so I’m reluctant to click them. I don’t like being Rickrolled
Rickrolled?
It means easily sent to a non-sequitur website that is linked as being something interesting or something else. The victim of the prank thinks they are going to see article X, and instead get Rick.
For instance, have you heard about Iggy’s latest news?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSsJ19sy3JI
Oh, now the URL comes up in my status bar. Still, the cross hairs instead of the usual finger, I find it distracting on your site design.
EofE, an apology, if done in all media for all to hear and read would do the job as well. Ignatieff would have to tell everyone he lied, that Conservatives and Mr Harper, our Prime Minister are not as he wrongly accused them.
I would love to see Dominic make his formal announcement that he is in the race, to rebuild the party, from the grass roots up, ignore any and all attacks on PMSH or the conservatives, promise to find the missing stolen money and make the party something to be proud to be a member of. It might take a few years, and if he followed thru with this type of campaign he might just win. It would make Iggy look like the idiot he is. Might even stop Rae and powercorp in its tracks.
. Still, the cross hairs instead of the usual finger, I find it distracting on your site design.
I know, it’s strange. Goes with the theme. I’m used to it now.
Don’t know exactly hos Oliver sees Ignatieff as the eventual “winner” with LeBlanc in on the contest. Can’t imagine Leblanc, Chretien’s godson, would let down a Power Corps candidate.
Liz, it’s been a busy day and I’m actually just catching up here, but could you please explain that one again? It could have very interesting repercussions. Thanks.
I see the underdog as LeBlanc,
CC, watching LeBlanc on MDL and CBC’s ‘Pawl-itics’ tonight, I am incredibly impressed with Leblanc!
He is the man.
Exactly, Gabby. I suppose we could chalk this up to selective hearing? Or wilful blindness?
Teddi, thanks for the Flanagan tip. So much to read & blog about – so little time. Every day I have lots of ideas that don’t make the blog. Just wish I could do more.
” … wish I could do more.”
Joanne, allow me to put in my two cents’ worth of advice. I find you do admirable work, in a partisan yet unabrasive way.
You also take the time to respond to practically every comment, which means you are reading them all.
So, may I respectfully suggest you limit the number of responses to commenters?
Although I’m sure we all appreciate being noticed, it must be very time consuming for you.
On the other hand … it’s your blog, and who am I to tell you how to run it, eh? No need for you to reply
Joanne, until we can find a way to clone you, we are happy and satisfied with what you do. One woman with 10 fingers and a great mind is more than we can ask for.
Aww.. Gabby & Mary T, you guys are why I do this. Thanks.
Gabby – regarding the comments, I do wish I could respond to every one, but you’re right. It’s impossible. Better that I keep on writing, I think. But thanks so much for the support!
Should Paul Martin take Ignatieff behind the woodshed?
Paul Martin laments the state of politics
PAUL MCLEOD, METRO HALIFAX
November 14, 2008 05:00
Paul Martin doesn’t like the direction politics is heading.
Attack ads have gotten out of control, fuelling voter apathy, the former prime minister told Metro Halifax yesterday.
Of course, Martin, who led Canada from 2003-2006, used attack ads of his own in two elections against Stephen Harper. For that he has some regrets.
“I don’t like negative ads,” he said. “I think they contribute enormously to the cynicism that’s out there. But you’re right, I did do them. And unfortunately, they do have a certain effect.”
Ignatieff takes the low road
National Post Published: Friday, November 14, 2008
Liberal MP Michael Ignatieff opened his campaign for the Liberal leadership on Thursday with a full-on assault aimed at Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his fellow Conservatives, accusing them of a range of political crimes. After announcing he is not running against fellow Liberal candidates but “against Stephen Harper and the Conservative government,” he charged them with dishonesty, incompetence and something close to bigotry and racism.
“We do not want a Canada where the colour of your skin, the language that you speak, the country you originated from determines how well you survive this economic downturn,” Mr. Ignatieff declared. Liberals, he added, “are going to fight for all Canadians to get the same shot at the economic dream.”
Joanne, Chretien and Rae are well connected in the Power Corps family. Dominic LeBlanc is very close to the Chretien family, Jean is his godfather. Basically LeBlanc is the third man in and is expected to finish that way, throwing his support to Rae. Bye,bye Iggy.
Agree with your assessment of Jason Kenney’s speech tonight, sure hope Ignatieff was listening. It may inject some decency into his thinking and prompt an apology for his false accusations. No Conservative would be ignored by the media for such false, outrageous statements.
The snit of the day for the media is the fact they were not allowed in on today’s policy deliberations.
Noted also, Jason listed the accomplishments by Conservative governments throughout our history. Liberal Marlene Jennings, never at a loss for words, commented they were done by “Progressive” Conservative governments. She just can’t see past the fact this Conservative government encompasses all Conservatives, including “Progressive Conservatives”.
Looks like fun times ahead as we watch the melodrama of the Liberal leadership unfold. Actually, they appear green with envy and we can expect the nastiness to worsen. However, we must call them on every false accusation.
Liz, what doesn’t make sense here is WK supporting Iggy then. He is so loyal to Chretien. Why would he throw his support to anyone other than Chretien’s godson? Very strange.
Agreed,it doesn’t make sense with Kinsella backing Iggy, but the optics wouldn’t look too good to have Kinsella backing Rae with LeBlanc running to be his kingmaker. That would be an obvious gang-up on Iggy.
Kinsella won’t wield as much influence among Liberals as the third candidate LeBlanc will in the home stretch. Both Rae and Iggy have their teams in place, LeBlanc is starting from scratch. Note also none of the old boys would touch this leadership contest with a ten foot pole. It’s not a challenge they would commit to.
Wonder where Poppa Jean is hiding out as this all unfolds? Could he be the mastermind?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but did Kinsella not back Dion at some point in the last disastrous leadership campaign? He then disappeared from the scene, went silent, when Dion won .
Lets say it’s stranger than fiction for the time being.
Anything is possible with that lot.
Hypocrite – thy name is Paul Martin. Can you believe this guy? He backstabbed Chretien and lost. He attacked Stephen Harper and lost. And now, he criticizes Icky? Please. Give me a break. It occurs to me that the Libs are so caught up in a web of lies that they cannot escape. Pathetic because we, the Canadian people, have to be subjected to low-down, disgusting behaviour on the part of one of our so-called major political parties. Our political scene is beginning to resemble that of a country like Zimbabwe – without the physical violence. I liken the character assualts and lies on the part of the Libs to physical assault – same sort of thing but a different methodology.
LizJ – I wasn’t going after you – just so you know. A Lib apology would be nice, if it was sincere but, knowing the Libs, it would be a non-apology along the lines of: “I regret that you perceived my comment in that way. I was taken out of context. I regret any discomfort my misunderstood comment caused you”. That’s the typical Lib non-apology. If he were to admit culpability and sincerely apologize and if the MSM carried it, then I may accept it. However, having said this, I am so sick and tired of the Lib lies that I’d like to see them hit hard where it hurts: in the pocketbook. I rarely become angry but this BS on the part of the Libs just has to stop. It has become, as the grand hypocrite Paul Martin indicates, out of line. I do agree with you, however, because your logic makes perfect sense. But, please remember that we’re dealing with Libs and the word of a Lib is not to be believed. My God, they’re scum.
I like how Mr. Kinsella’s nicely cherry-picked one or two lines out of what are really not very encouraging media bits today. Better yet, that the blogging conservatives are filling in what he has conveniently chosen to leave out – thanks Joanne!
Sol, I just checked out that post you were referring to.
“The mouth-breathing Conservative war room bloggers…”????
Yikes! He hasn’t changed his tactics a bit. Still mired in the muck.
Well, it all fits. Kinsella is helping Iggy to get defeated, advising him to make spurious accusations against Harper and Conservatives is a start. We know Kinsella is a Chretienite, has no time for Martin probably due to the Adscam Inquiry. Iggy having the services of Kinsella would be enough for Martin to attack him. Talk about small minds!
Still think Rae will get the backing of LeBlanc in the end run. Doubtful the Liberal Party will be in any position to offer any favours to Power Corps or anyone else for a very long time. This is the wing of the party that still knows all the tricks, the old boy, Jean could be pulling strings.
Iggy and Warren the Weasel are down and dirty out of the gate, the muck is not a place from which winners
emerge.
Liz, but we’ve seen it’s enough to get a minority government time and again.
Kinsella is helping Iggy to get defeated, advising him to make spurious accusations against Harper and Conservatives is a start.
Fascinating theory, Liz. If that’s true, it’s quite the calculating plan.
Well, we all know the Liberals are calculating, although they’ve lost a lot of their brain power in that regard.
Oddly, McCallum, a Martin supporter and now a supporter of Iggy, who is being advised by Chretien supporter Kinsella…..go figure!
May they live in interesting times as the Chinese curse goes.
LizJ – the Libs are political whores. Kinsella is merely going to the highest bidder.
