I support the Arrogant Liberal Party of Canada
Randall Denley of the Ottawa Citizen is proposing a new party, and he says that unlike the LPC he has done his due diligence in investigating the name and its impact (All’s fair in the Name Game):
Fair’s fair. Liberal leader Stéphane Dion sees no problem with stealing the name of a company called Green Shift Inc. and applying it to his key environmental policy. In the same vein, I would like to start a political party and call it the Liberal Party of Canada.
The organization now operating under the same name might have a problem with it, but if the party complains, I’ll just adopt Dion’s stance and describe the complaint as "deplorable."
( . . . )
Unlike the old Liberals, the Arrogant Liberals did the homework to make sure the name for their key intellectual property hasn’t already been taken. Right there, that shows we’re more competent to run the country than Dion and his gang.
Details for Denley’s amusing tongue-in-cheek piece can be found in between the above two quotes.
Jennifer Wright’s situation is not funny though and she needs your help to fight the LPC Machine. A Facebook page has been started and she is asking for your support.
Please help Jennifer in any way you see fit.
And don’t forget The Victory Fund!
Thank you.

Denley knocks one out of the park with this column Joanne!
Incidentally, what are the other parties and/or gov’t member views on this whole issue. Can’t say as I’ve read or heard any of those.
Joanne - on another topic altogether I’m surprised you haven’t picked up on the Fantino/First Nation’s issue - now there’s another hot button issue that seems to be moved off the radar this summer but is simmering in the communities affected and here we are with Dalton schmoozing the other premiers into a cap and trade carbon scheme.

Funny you should say that, Sol. I’m just working on something now.
In fact, I’m trying to figure out how to set up a poll. There is a page marked “Polls” in the top right hand side of the blog. I’d really appreciate it if you’d try it out so I can see if it’s working. Thanks.
Still having a bit of technical trouble with the layout.

The ‘turfed’ Blair Wilson,Lib.MP from BC wants back in to the fold…hmm,Elections Canada ‘cleared’ him.Should be interesting what comes out of his press conf.later today!BTW,Garth Turner has interesting comment in middle of his latest blather, all about me post.It reads,”when I quit this job,any day now,I will not be invited onto the board of Google”
Not sure what to make of this…is he trolling for some begging to stay,by the few regular, koolaid drinkers that post there?Or,has the Lib party reached their saturation level of the ‘me me’ Garth????

poll accepted my vote. this is the same one that Jack uses and is a fun side bar addition.
Ezra should start the “Liberano’s Party of Kanucastan”

Glad you picked up this column, he really hits the nail on the head. With Blair’ riding also now up for graps, that makes at least 24 liberal seats Dion has to keep, plus try to hold what he has, and then try to gain another -how many- to get a majority that he brags about.

Thanks, Teddi. I think you were the one that suggested it to me, right?

Re Blair Wilson. Steve Janke has interesting blog on Blair Wilson today. Sorry, I do not know how to create links.

Thanks, Kathy. Here’s the link.

How very intriguing, Sammy. I wonder what’s behind that?

Check out Ezra today, can you win the 1000.00 he is offering in his contest to track down a threatening e-mail.
July 20th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Further to the threat to Ezra, but he has received at least 62 comments with all sorts of info on how to trace the culprit down. Interesting for anyone with tech knowledge. All this in less than 12 hours, and one guy used co ordinates to goggle his home. Wish I understood all the jargon being posted. Bet the threatener is shaking in his boots, waiting for the police.

Mary T, that is fascinating about how they could track down the location. Scary for Ezra though. I hope he has contacted the police.

I read this - oh my God, what a bunch of idiots. Really you are.
I was told to hold my nose and read some of the Blogging Tories………unbelievably dumb, partison and useless.
What a waste of valuable time.
Pathetic
Now, I’m going to read the Liblogs site and NDP and Green Party sites to compare.
I’ve not done this before….reading blogs - what an eye opener as to how the right wing think.
Nasty bunch I’d say, and not too bright either.

sounds like Sara is a dolt
July 20th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Sara, please give us the benefit of your insight. Why do you think that we are idiots and why do you think that we are nasty?
July 20th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
I think before Gayle left on vacation she hired Sara to take her place.
July 20th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Hey Sara,
I read your comment, and wow, you’re an idiot! Really you are! Then I went and read Liblogs and the NDP and Green sites to compare and, guess what??? They’re idiots too!!
If you want an eye-opener, go to the CBC comments section, where people like you are happy that our soldiers are killed. Does that open your eyes to the nasty bunch that are called progressives? People like you make me sick! And you call yourselves tolerant!
