Jack has an interesting poll going on at Jack’s Newswatch - Should Al Gore be sued by companies he is harming with his crusade?
This ties in with his post based on an article from Spiegel Online Killing Jobs to Save the Climate , which explains how the German carbon trading market is causing many industries to threaten to pack up and leave. And costs are only going to go up.
As one of Jack’s readers (L.G.) remarked, it’s like a spigot that once installed, can be opened up at a faster and faster rate. The analogy is quite worth reading.
Anyway, please read Jack’s post and related links and then check out his poll.
Oh yeah, and about those melting ice caps, Mr. Gore…
One other interesting tidbit here – What’s the point of a cure if the patient may not be sick? by Australia’s William Kininmonth:
…It is disingenuous to claim that carbon dioxide, an essential component of plant photosynthesis and necessary for life, is a pollutant….
…The public response seems to be almost a death wish; a lemming-like rush to reduce national carbon dioxide emissions at the expense of industries prospering on the basis of our national comparative advantage through fossil fuel resources…
That guy talks my language!

Norway, Sweden and Great Britain have all reported increasing costs, loss of industry, and little or no improvement in emmisions since they implemented either carbon taxes or cap and trade systems. Yet the brain-addled leader of the Liberal party and his gang of leftist socal engineers are still proceeding with their idiotic green shaft policy. Only in Canada…eh!
“Only in Canada…eh!”
Unfortunately, no.
It appears the US is moving in a similar direction, if one listens to Robert Kennedy Jr.

From a video clip of Al Gore:
AL GORE, FMR. VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: The survival rate of the United States of America as we know it is as risk and even more, if more should be required, the future of human civilization is at stake.
The auto and airline industry is a direct result of Global Warming fear mongering by LIEberals, under DeYawn. As the evidence mounts against them, still the lie continues for those who have forgotten to think. With Dr. Fruitfly scaring children and wanting politicians be put in jail, is it no wonder that it is working against industry?
Example: the auto industry in Canada has lost sales because they fail to produce fuel efficient transportation. Foreign transportation sales is increasing, yet they think they can still build bigger cars/trucks/SUV’s/vans etc. If the LIEberals get back into power then everything but gas taxes [Green Shift Tax - GST] will increase. From a loaf of bread to the computer.
At one time [during the Dark Ages] people believed that the earth was flat; perhaps soon people will believe that mankind is responsible for “Global Warming” only to be proven wrong.
As yet, I have no environMENTALists take my challenge: “Cut off your utilities and burn your driver’s license if you believe what you say is true.” This only makes them angry; try it with your friends who follow the religion of Global Warming.
Let’s get this straight. We here in my region of Ontario have just experienced a wetter and cooler June, and snowy, cold winter, the lake levels are returning to normal(a way to go yet but it’s happening), it’s been a very pleasant July so far and we’re still getting lip service from the environuts.
What’s worse is that I have to wonder about the intelligence of the folks who are buying all of Gore’s messaging. Is this what we raised through our education systems? Sad.
So much for critical thinking and questioning authority.
Joanne asked a very good question over at Jacks. Seriously what ARE Al Gore’s credentials on lecturing us about the environment?
Yep, and Suzuki’s getting on my nerves too.
Suzuki’s credentials are no better than Gore’s, he’s a biologist isn’t he?. Would you see a urologist about a brain tumour?
I think Gore is starting to lose credibility in the USA. I actually heard a couple of snide remarks re gore and his nobel prize, and his credentials. Also, a few responses to a question on cnn said, after listening to gore last night, I finally agree with the decision of the Supreme Court. His support might just harm the great O. One strategist said that europe is treating him like he is already the President and that could hurt him with US voters. Too european for their interests, and that M word was used.
That’s very intriguing, Mary T. Do you think that Canadian premiers are listening?
“…The survival rate of the United States of America as we know it is as risk and even more, if more should be required, the future of human civilization is at stake…”
Gabby, who do you think is more to blame? Al Gore, or the suckers that buy into his propaganda?
Thus, I was conflicted on Jack’s poll. Perhaps the lemmings should sue themselves.
wow – i am surprised that there are still people not able to see the rough road ahead for our planet. you do know that al gore is not the only individual waving a red flag.. don’t you? you do know that the majority of scientists, who actually research our climate and its history, are also waving red flags. i guess its simply easier for you to keep you heads in the sand – right where corporate america and beyond would like you. best of luck with the bright environmental future you’re so rosy about.
cheers!
