She did?

I was googling news stories about the cute little ‘joke’ that St. Catharines Riding President Jane Cornelius had included in a newsletter, when I came across this item from Newstalk 610 CKTB:

The author of the joke, Riding President Jane Cornelius, has issued an apology.

Really?

Or did they mean this? -

But St. Catharines Liberal Association president Jane Cornelius, who included the joke in the association’s spring newsletter, fired back saying Dykstra’s timing was a "purely partisan attempt to embarrass" Dion before he visited Niagara Region yesterday.

"I would have expected more from the MP," she wrote in a statement. "In no way did I mean to offend anyone and I apologize if I did."

Garth Turner’s non-apology apologies must be rubbing off. Is this an example of what you mean by "honest and respectful’, M. Dion? If so, I think I’ll stick with Harper.

Update: Well, I’m going to take a bit of a break. Be back in a few days. Comment moderation may be on, but I’ll be checking in from time to time.

Feel free to comment on any stories that get your blood boiling. It’s safer to sound off here than resort to road rage or something.

They have their heads in the sand. Several layers of skin to shed from the easy ride they had for 13 years. They rode a smooth road to Rome…but no more. Within my crystal ball I gaze and what do I see…therapy…and more therapy….back to reality….2050 ought to be a good target date for completion. ha!

When are we Conservatives going to demand a full public inquiry seeing how Chretien and Martin knew about Omar Khadr being tortured, yet did nothing to stop it?

Did anyone attend the meeting last night. Would love to get a first hand report. It might be fun to join a liberal riding association, just to get all the mailouts, newsletters etc. One never knows what someone considers a joke.

    TJ sez:

Dion finds that the holder of the Green Shift Trademark has launched a “deplorable” lawsuit?

Ms. Cornelius launches a distinclty non-apologetic apology for sinister attempts at “comedy,” as she phrases it?

In both instances, both offending parties lay blame for the offended feelings as being the fault, and the primary problem, of those offended. How Liberal. How progressive. How female friendly.

As per typical “progressive schoolyard bully” tactics, the fault is always to be found with the victim, dont’cha know. The Liberals are always lily-white and squeaky clean.

And…just as predicted at this site yesterday, most of the MSM fabricators of truth, don’t seem to have much stomach for these two stories.

A short item in the TorSun this Thurs am, dealing with the alleged “joke.” In the TorRedStar on the Don, S Delacourt, at the end of a large puff piece on Dion, buries this story in a few dismissive lines as part of “minor furor.”

The Libs knew all along about Khadr. The Libs did nothing for Kapoustin.

Liberal hack Cornelius deserves a bit of paraphrasing. She had it partially right.

From here, I would have expected more from a “parogressive” 13 year member of Parliament, a member who has been a part of the so-called ‘Naturally gaoverning Party of Canada.’

I certainly have come to expect, from here on in, that these cornered Liberal rodents with long tails, shall not rise above the further disseminating of this sort of male bovine scat.

And if this is what’s going on in plain view of the public, one can only conjecture, with ever-increasing dread, exactly what sort of hell is being raised behind closed doors and drawn curtains.

The garbage scow “S.S. Liberal Hidden Agenda” navigates the cargo of toxic crap and B.S.through Canadian minds, and through the talking heads of Canada’s mostly compliant media punditocracy and commentariate.

’tis to shudder, then to re-apply oneself, with renewed commitment.

I can’t believe my eyes and ears. Yesterday the cbc did a story on Jennifer and it was not a hit piece.
Just now, the cbc was interviewing some activist for Khdar, and the anchor actually asked, what should the liberals have done as this was known on their watch, paraphrased.
He then asked why was the PM so adamant in refusing to bring him home. Answer, he would not gain any votes and could possibly lose some if he took action.
What are we supposed to do with him if he comes home, let him live on welfare like his family is doing. Let the americans feed the little killer. Maybe this treatment will deter other cdns of convienience from going to join jihad and kill our allies.

Interesting read from Paul Wells. Purportedly a dissertation on the changes in the PMO post-Giorno, he segues into a review of a new book entitled “Nixonland:The rise of a President and the Fracturing of America”. While I don’t buy Harper as the return of RN, there are some interesting parallels in terms of strategy.

However, my favourite quote from the piece :

“Poilievre is dismissed as a third-rater by most reporters in the gallery,…. But he gets this distinction between the well-rounded (elites) and the (Lawrence) Welkish mass in his bones. His website address is http://www.fightingforyou.ca, and here’s the odd thing about the residential-schools blunder: even if it was a mistake, and his apology sincere, his riding office has received far more critical calls and emails from voters for his apology than it has for his original gaffe. “

Greg, as witty as your comment is, I can’t let it through. I don’t want WK to sue me.

I don’t really find this story interesting…. just more of the same old – same old from LIberals and their sycophants ….
Hey Jo …take a break have some fun …. forget about the news and the peewews for a while…
    Cheers!

There is a meeting of premiers in Quebec, coming up, and the ONT/QUE plan for cap and trade will be front and center. This means that the hydro plants who have fewer emmissions than the oilsands, will be able to sell their excess carbon credits to Alberta for megabucks. If the purpose is to reduce emmissions, how does that work. As our Premier says, it is a licence to pollute.
First we are supposed to buy credits from ONT/QUE, then we are to pay big time for the shaftplan.
AB has had a carbon tax for a while, we have had environmental fees for years when you buy a tv etc. We also have this fee on such things as weldig rod, tires and so many other things.
Syncrude has been reducing ghg since 1990, they have land reclaimation, tree planting programs.
However the media and liberals refuse to admit that Alberta has been front and center for years.
We are made out to be the bad guys. We are called whiners, greedy and those are just the nice comments.
Everyone should remember what happened when the NEP was in place. The oil will always be there, and when a co-operative govt is in power, the companies will come back and get it. Until then 100s of rigs and jobs will leave. Already lots of them have gone to other countries, and more will follow. To rob alberta blind, so que can have cheap child care, will not be tolerated again. To those non liberal supporters in Ont, you have to get the message out, supporting the shaftalbertaplan will not be good for your province or ours. The good news is that there is a long time till the election, and this shaft will hopefully get the shaft, and Dion and his followers with it.
