Is civil disobedience ever justified?

Jeff Allan just had Aaron Detlor and Ken Hewitt on his show, discussing native protesters ignoring a court injunction to stay away from a Brantford construction site.

Of course, no arrests were made. Ken Hewitt said it’s like déjà vu. Detlor says it is justified because it is native land.

Do you think this is justified? Would you buy a property in Brantford now?

Jeff says it’s (native occupation) like ‘gangrene coming up your leg.’

Thanks for the tip, Sammy. And a special thanks for saving me the horrendous task of venturing over to Kady’s. It always makes me queasy.

Why doesn’t McGuinty just ban occupations?

Pit bulls, sushi, vending machine snacks, etc. anything bad should just be banned.

Might as well ban ghg emissions as well.

Seriously, these occupations are way out of hand. Personallly, I’d like to see the natives occupy land with, say a Wal-Mart on it. Wanna bet Mcguinty and the OPP would be a lot quicker to act?

Mary T – please let us know the status of the T-shirts.
Seems a fair question seeing as though it was spawned right here on this blog.

If the idea went bust I’m sure folks would like to know that also, so someone else can fly with the idea.

    Joanne- please encourage a response.

    Sol – Done.

I wonder what excuse Mr Detlor has for the Caledonia mess. There is proof that the land was sold and paid for, so that land is not native land.

  9. Ray K. says:

    That’s not civil disobedience.

  10. Swift says:

Fantino and McWimpy say it is civil disobedience.
