Did anyone else happen to catch Bernier’s speech to les Beaucerons just now?
I thought his speech was very compelling but CTV’s Craig Oliver was not impressed. Waiting for online links to the speech.
The most interesting part was that Bernier says that the documents were Nato notes from a previous trip and did not even warrant a bar code for security purposes. Oliver is surmising that the PM was using this as an opportunity to get rid of him.
Bernier still maintains that he has no memory of leaving them at Mme Couillard’s maison.
The mystery continues.

I have often thot,that there will come a day,that this horrible steady destructive ripping apart of a person could lead to a suicide if it got bad enough..God forbid,but I just wish these ‘pundits’ would be a little more restrained,and show a wee bit of compassion.
For some reason, and I tend to distrust everything a politico says, I believe most of what he says.
I can’t imagine too many guys asking their present lover about all her past experiences.
With the anti conservative bias in the civil service, I can’t imagine too many important documents going missing for any length of time without someone noticing they are missing.
Although I’m not as certain about his not remembering leaving the documents, it is just as likely that she took them for future purposes.
Lesson for everyone think with the head with a brain in it not the head that has other purposes.

The media in this country make me throughly sick. Had this been a Liberal they would have went on and on how he is so regretful and made an innocent mistake. How we should forgive him and move on. Blah, blah, blah. They are nothing but shills and cheerleaders for the Liberals and the liberal agenda. Not an ounce of unbiased balanced reporting except for Mike Duffy sometimes.
I think you’re right, Sammy. Someone is going to come to a tragic end one day if they don’t at least tone it down. They hate PM Harper, the CPC and anything conservative. No wonder it’s hard to get a lot of good quality people to run for office. The MSM are truly shameful. They should hang their heads.

I caught the speech today and was impressed. Had cbc on, and then the experts come on. Like I asked somewhere else, we watched, we saw, we heard, we made our judgements, so why did Neman, Martin and others have to immediately tell us what we saw, heard, and watched. I believe Max, and I have always thought he was set up by the gal, who probably hid the files, if they were ever there, and kept them for 5 wks.
They were from a meeting that had already taken place so were of no value. Anyone wanting to now what happened could have googled it.
I am more concerned with the terrorist on trial that worked under the liberals in FA. I think that place needs a real cleaning out, and hope Emmerson will do it. All you lib moles in there, quit now. The guy on trial worked on computers, what did he have access to and what did he sent to his terrorist friends back home. Funny, media gives libs and their FA minister a pass on that. I saw Berniers comments also, on CPAC. He mentioned Couillard said nothing about her past and then we get a clip from her saying she told him. I guess a woman with such a shady past as reported by the MSM….yet she is to be believed? Berniers father said he believes it was a set up…a reporter asked if Bernier is trying to say Couillard stole the documents?They were just briefing notes from Bucarest with no bar code, so they had no idea they were missing. I believe it was a set up too. They were after him for months and finally got the ultimate smear.

At NNW there are stories that California papers are outsourcing their editing and layout jobs overseas to INDIA. And a paper chain in Florida is laying off 1350 people. Looks like the beginning of the end for a lot of media jobs. Maybe Travers and Don, Susan and so many others are not far behind.
Advertizing sales are down 40% and of course the economy and the net are being blamed. Funny that no one in the head offices or newsrooms think that their constant distortion of facts could be to blame, or the biased opinion of the reporters are to blame. I think a lot of former readers and watchers are protesting with their wallets and not supporting advertizers in such biased newmedia.
Maybe the wallet is mightier than the pen.
Again, I have always thought the Bernier thing was a set up, especially after the way Gilles asked, is it out yet. I bet he get re-elected with a larger majority. 10,000 votes is a huge total to overcome.

I can’t understand how the media continues to allow reporters such as Oliver to be on there, being so bias, it is past time for him to retire……. The liberals party did nothing this past Parliament but sling scandal they hoped would stick to the Conservative Government… Most of it has been proven just that – scandal the liberals made up or exaggerated…. The liberal media was happy to run with it all and published it over and over and over and thought Canadians were foolish enough to believe it… The liberals and liberal media stated over and over, Bernier had poor judgment to be involved with her….. However, they are most willing to believe anything she says over Bernier, just because it is all against Bernier. So what is it the media supports – biker gangs and liberals. Very, sad reporting, however, Oliver’s sister is married to a very strong liberal, he is only helping her out!!!

Its not just Conservative bloggers and political junkies that are talking about anti-Conservative bias in the media, but mainstream voters are starting to realize it. CTV is bad, but the taxpayer funded CBC is worse. CBC reporting is totally one-sided and distorted, for the few dozen people accross the country who are actually watching it.
I agree that the MSM are getting a little strident. The degree of anger is directly related to the mistakes the government does. The stronger the government the more strident the pundits. This works to the CPC advantage. It produces dissonance and it turn off the consumer who does not believe what the MSM is saying. Cheers.

Very interesting interview on cbc just now..with Independant Que.MP Andre Arthur.He is adamant that this whole affair WAS a set-up resulting from Bernier not going along with multi-million dollar real estate deal.Said Bernier had turned it down,and shortly after that is when his problems started.Arthur was quite forceful in his belief that Bernier was one of the best industry ministers.Arthur thinks there needs to be a full RCMP investigation into this,to find out what really happened.
But,on ctv,Shameless O’reagan and Fife continue to mock..Fife giggles and says Bernier reminds him of ‘Sgt.Shultz from Hogan’s Heroes…I don’t know nuthin’ They are giving more credibility to an ‘ex-biker chick’ than an MP!I wonder how much honest reporting there will be,IF this does prove to be a set-up???

MSM and the opposition. Look at the string of suspicious scandals, every Tuesday. Seems someone was at work behind the scenes manufacturing them(who wasn’t in QP?). First it was the so called Bernier gaffe(for telling the truth) & it was blown out of porportion by the media. Then CBC shows him giving out Joe Leweys , to make him look silly. Lots of nasty remarks directed at him in QP, trying to make him look incompetant. Then it leads up to the hairdresser of Gilles Ducepe & the media not wanting to run with the story , just yet. Seems they were waiting for the “GRAND FINALE”, with Couillard giving her TV interview. NOW she won’t testify(where HARD questions can be asked) and she is going to write a “BOOK”. I say she set him up and someone paid for it.I didn’t just fall off a turnip truck.
Cbc this morning said Bernier made the news release where he knew he would get a “WARM” reception before a “SAFE” audience. Didn’t hear that when Couillard made her news report before a TV camera. No audience there. Andre Arthur said if the RCMP always get their man, they should start working on it.

I recall reading that it was someone from the firm that introduced them at a cocktail party or some social event. I think it was Travers who said yesterday he would wait for the book to get the truth.
I will never believe he left those documents, but I can believe put them under a magazine or something to get them out of view. The other option is someone in FA gave them to her, possibly via a garbage pail by a restaurant. The more the media makes fun of some of his actions or stmts, the more I smell SETUP big time.
What roll did the Bloc play in this, what role did a hairdresser play. Anyone checked out her past and who she has been involved with. That might be interesting or who her customers are.
During her TV interview, Couillard not only stated that she told Bernier about her biker past but also that he was OK with it. Oh really? A high-ranking government minister with a spotless reputation thinks it’s OK that his new girlfriend had affairs with members of criminal organizations? I don’t think so.
And she couldn’t have known how he’d react in advance, so it would have been in her interest not to do or say anything that could jeapordize this relationship. After all, she had a lot riding on it – not only did it give her the chance to hobnob with rich and powerful people, but there was a significant monetary gain to be had. She actively lobbied both Bernier and her other boyfriend, the Conservative political assistant, on behalf of her employer, who was seeking to close a huge real estate deal with the government. She even told the assistant that if the deal went through, she’d make a lot of money.
