Several of my readers have just informed me of this breaking news regarding the Cadman tape - Tories say they have proof the tape was doctored!

Update: So as I understand it, this is related to an Ontario court order to stop the Liberals from using the tape - CBC.

In part V titled The 1:46 mark , Section 12, it says, "…Mr. Zytaruk has been reported to have said that this gap in the audiotape occurred because I went to my car and then returned to add a comment. This is categorically false. .."
And yet Tom Zytaruk is sticking to his story in media interviews tonight. Very strange.

IF TRUE, this is stunning.
But let’s just keep calm and realize that the optics of this announcement aren’t going to blow away the average Canadian.

CBC cuts off press conf.with James Moore(sorry,I was in such haste I prev.said it was Jason Kenney)CTV makes MINISCULE reference to this,then the trio of tittering bobbleheads go on to talk about bell-ringing competition on the cable cars in San Fran!! Un-freakin -believable! Where is Bobby Fife,Craig Oliver? CBC,helloo,where is the saturation from your intrepid ‘on the Hill’ faux reporters? Busy trying to ‘fix’ this to make it look bad for PMSH?C’mon,Rosemary,Julie,Bonner…give your heads a shake!

Now the question is, who did the doctoring, the author or someone he gave it to.
It will be difficult for liberals and media to question the forencic evidence, expecially if the believe all the tapes from OBL are real.
Top story on cbc is still the blockade by union workers of GM headquarters.

On the SPIN starts here..CBC..First question from Nancy Wilson..”Why would the Conservatives be DRAGGING this back into the spotlight’? Second question…”What does the ALLEGED doctoring have on the meaning of what the PMSH said’? Rosemary Barton answered..”STRANGE the Conservatives brought this back to the forefront since the RCMP put it to bed”. CTV Graham Richardson reported it quite plainly and calmly. The woman from CTV asked him …”Do you find the question about the TIMING of this is because of the Bernier affair? Are they trying to change the channel?” Can anyone believe any of this?
Portions of the tape were left out…Amiture job…background noise was added…3 parts were put together….changes in tone….manipulated…white noise added…a 5-10 minute interview cut into a spliced 2 min. interview. The LIBERAL WAY. The changing of the channels were CTV & CBC when PMSH is out of town and looking great on the world stage and they COVER IT UP . No reports, just at home MSM slander. YUP…the big story now is Obama…US news. Where’s Boag and his side kick….See some red faces on this one. Come on CBC…the spin stops here.

But don’t get to excited the media will be silent on this, or blow it off.
Also kind of funny that when the grewal tapes came out the media ran all over the place for experts. But they where silent on these tapes. But there is no bias in the MSM(eyes roll).

Just heard an interview with the author of the Cadman book, who claims that because he MAY have switched his tape recorder off and then on again while he was interviewing the PM, this would make it appear to have been doctored.

you can make it sound like someone said something they didn’t just by stopping and starting the VR.
I’m positive the author was on record as saying that the tape was full and complete and had no been tampered with…am I wrong?

Yes, the author did say the tape was complete. I am sure some blogger has that in his archives and it will appear soon.
Can you believe that the liberals demanded another minister resign-JF-. Gee, have the ever demanded a minister resign before. Heard in the scuttlebut during qp today, conservatives asking why the oppsition have not all bought gm trucks.
Any idea of how many of those union guys out protesting actually drive the product they build. If they all are not driving these trucks that says they have no confidence in their product.

It’s true and both Don Newman and Rosemary Barton of the CBC don’t see why this has any affect on the issue at hand. Of course, they wouldn’t! They, along with Michael Ignatieff, appear to be disparaging of the Conservative lawsuit and question its necessity. Well, if I had been slandered, and those perpetrating the slander refused to withdraw the allegations, I guess the courts would be the only avenue open to me. Of course Liberals feel that responding to their smears is not allowed and any attempt to do so is simply Conservative attack-dog tactics.

Can just see it…Susan Delacourt. Rob Russo, Jim Traverse…Don Martin..the usual EXPERTS. Why don’t they just paint a RED Lieberal sign across their forheads?
On another note..the only channel being changed here , is the election debts, of entitled to their entitlements, Liberals. I can see why CBC is all of a sudden reporting on the US election…and the food crisis.

Whoa, Mike Duffy is just having an interview with Tom Z. (Cadman book author) and “Tom” is simply babbling. I don’t know if he’s backpeddling? Very nervous? Duffy is sort of furrowing his brow and looking confused. Rightly so, because the author is hardly making sense.

OMG..that half-wit author on Newman as well.He really really blew any credibility.As stated above,he IS a babbling idiot!Newman interviewed James Moore,and it was just brutal.Then the worn-out goalie Dryden came on,and basically said the Libs don’t believe the new evidence.I would love a petition right now,especially after the Newman/Moore interview to get the cbc to show some impartiality.Honest to God it is sickening.

Sammy, thanks for the update. I can’t bear to watch Newman anymore - especially around dinner time. Not good for the digestion.
I did see a piece on Global and they showed a graph of the tape along with the audio and you could clearly hear and see where one of the breaks was. It was near the beginning when Tom was talking about the so-called insurance policy and not later on where he said that Harper went back to his vehicle for a while before returning to talk again and that he had allegedly shut off the recorder in between.
A lot of things just don’t add up here.

Saw the OLD guy Newman(shouldn’t he be retired? It was brutal how he kept drowning out, talking over top of James moore. BUT James Moore was in good form , considering the position he was in with the raving lunitic Newman. He had a LOT of patience with Ruby Dallia…the QUEEN in his glazed eyes. When old Newman introduced his panel of Lessard & Travers he said ” who’s commentating needs no doctoring”. Lessard…”Desperate attempt by a desperate party. People in ONTARIO will be talking about the economy, and thats NOT FUNNY”. Traverse…”when you work this hard to COVER THE SMOKE this smoke simply is to let it stay with the EXPERT in the court case”. Newman…” Well the justice committee is TIED UP - Hanger walked out”. Hehehehe giggle giggle giggle. Travers…”Why invent the story? Only one germain point in the tape. The guy seems like a credible , likeable guy. Why do anything to the tape?” Then…”All that surplus and the Conservatives are THROWING UP THEIR HANDS with the economy. It won’t get them the majority in ONTARIO.” Newman on GM…Prentice should come out swinging. Lessard..” Conservatives should send someone to talk to them.” Prentice did…NUMB- NUTS. Anyway…it’s not the Gumont Grewal tapes when the CBC and media crucified him. What a crap of SMUG , SMUG , SMUG on crediable reporting on the issue. And Duffy said that the CTV techies had also confirmed that the tape was doctored. So why did neither CTV nor Global think to check out the tape a few weeks ago when it surfaced ? Would that not have been a barnburner of a story.
And instead of calling for “independent experts” to assess the tape, why don’t Ken Dryden and the Liberals just go ahead and have the tape examined ?
It couldn’t be that they cannot find anyone to confirm that the tape has never been doctored, could it ? (Apologies for the multiple double negatives !!!)

Did anybody catch Mike Duffy say that they had an expert look at the tape and that their expert determined
that the tape had breaks in it?
It begs the question why didn’t Duffy or anyone at CTV mention this before?

O.K. So Dryden said he got the tape from the publisher, who of course got it from the author. But the author said he didn’t alter the tape. But experts say the tape has been altered.

I remember the day the tape recording broke. On CTV Dan Matheson stated he could easily tell the tapes had been doctored. Then next time I watched CTV news net no mention of doctoring again. I suspect CTV knew that first day but chose to keep silent!! There is a lot of hanky panky going on between the MSM and the Liberal Party.

What baffles me is: surely the author knew the Conservatives would have REAL experts look at the tape. Could he be that stupid? It’s not like the CPC is poor and can’t afford expert analysis, surely he knew he’d be found out and then humiliated!

He categorically denies that the tape was altered. He says that was the whole interview. So somebody is either mistaken or lying.
The document on Stephen Taylor’s site sure is interesting. They have screenshots of this Macleans’ blog spread at one point.

So - my question is - if so many media had evidence the tape was doctored before this - why the silence until now? If this were reversed - I know for a fact that it would lead the nightly news for weeks, be hammered on in question period; Giggles and Ollie would tut tut about how the Tories tried to smear the Liberal and the CBC would sniff haughtily about how those low life red necks thought they could pull one over the Liberals.

Lot’s of supposition all around.
Consider this though.
If this story had essentially died it’s natural death which seems to be the case.
Then why would anyone raise the issue again over a fabrication? What kind of loon would fabricate a story to resurrect a dead issue that could only make them look worse?
Since I don’t think the PC’s or the PMO is populated by loons the conclusion should be that the matter of the doctoring is correct. Now why did that take so long?
Going back to the start of this boondoggle ….
Zytaruk’s behaviour since the release of all the information has been erratic and too many versions of his own story came from his own mouth. No writer who has his facts straight or his head screwed on straight would be as inconsistent as this man.
As for the behaviour of the LIberals and their MSM water bearers …. well that is the status quo.

The Grewal tapes were investigated by CBC…they hired John Dooher, He said there was a crude edit and something amiss. Health Minister DOSANJH said conversations were taken out of context, to make him look worse. He said “independant experts” confirmed the tapes had been doctored, but gave NO DETAILS. He then “hinted” STEPHEN HARPERS office was involved with tampering with the tapes.
