Where is the McGuinty government in this? I thought they rejected Sharia Law in Ontario.
Turns out, Muslim women are being hurt by the secret polygamy practices of their husbands (GTA’s Secret world of polygamy – Star):
"Polygamy is happening in Toronto; it’s not common, but it’s happening," said Hindy, imam at Salahuddin Islamic Centre .
Hindy, hardly a stranger to controversy, is well known for his friendship with the family of Omar Khadr, the young Canadian detainee at Guantanamo Bay, and his outspoken views on the implementation of Islamic law. In the past five years, Hindy said he has officiated or "blessed" more than 30 polygamous marriages; the most recent was two months ago. Even some imams in the GTA have second wives, he added.
"This is in our religion and nobody can force us to do anything against our religion," he said. "If the laws of the country conflict with Islamic law, if one goes against the other, then I am going to follow Islamic law, simple as that."
So now we have another example of the McGuinty government turning a blind eye to law-breaking , this time at the expense of Muslim women who have been betrayed by their polygamous husbands.
Why aren’t we hearing about charges being brought against these men?

Meanwhile, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal has no problem challenging Christian religious freedom.

The mother pictured in the news article needs to go to court on this (court of public opinion already in play) and sue the husband and the imam for conspiracy or some such offense. Throw them both in jail so they can’t practice this “illegal” aspect of their religion.
Canadian Law Rules AND we only “accept” religious rights through tolerance. Where is that Human Right Commission when we really need them?

Babylonian, law-enforcement is a provincial matter, so normally I would suggest writing to your MPP. However, if he/she is a Liberal, you may as well p*ss into the wind.

Is this not breaking news about the underground and secret polygamy practices of a small minority of Cdn Muslims? Yes, then isn’t it a little disingenuous to attack the government for not doing anything about it?
Lets give it a couple weeks and then we’ll have some credibility attacking the gov’t on the issue, sort of like all the other North American State and Provincial governments who have nipped this sort of thing in the bud immediately upon catching a sniff of it going on. We should hold the Ontario government to that same standard for sure.

I feel that we are living an increasingly difficult world. Christianity is attacked in Muslims nations and not allowed to exist, look at the Christians leaving Iraq and going to Jordan stripped of all they had acquired and destitute and are not allowed to exist in most other Muslim nations. And Christian values are being fully attached in western nations. So either Christianity will cease to exist soon as Muslims gain the majority in all western nations or hopefully the rapture is about to happen soon as the end draws near. In any event the final clash is coming and my advice is to be ready and look up hopefully for the Lord to take us out of the final the clash down here.

The existence in western nations of values not Christian does not equal an attack thereon.
With the fear that Christians will become the minority, perhaps our government could draft some sort of paper with words of a legal nature, that would, in the future, upon the attaining of that minority status, offer some sort of shield or protection, if you will, from efforts of the majority Muslims to bring about said extinction of the minority Christian faith. Hopefully a government with foresight will be courageous enough to protect the minority rights of the powerless Christians and enact such a legal type paper. I will try to think of a catchy name for such a document that would enshrine the rights of the miinority Christian faith in the law of the land such that it cannot be repressed into extinction by the whim of the future Muslim majority.
Majority rules, as long as we Christians are in the majority. But, should that not be the case, we ought to have that magic legal document at the ready.
