Hi Joanne. I actually received a reply from Don Martin, although he never addressed what I stated in the e-mail. Actually, it looks like more comfirmation he is a legend in his own mind. Here’s his reply.
Funny, the Liberals say I’m a Harper lover. Must be doing something right.
And I’ve bashed the Liberals ceaselessly about their weird opposition tactics.

It sounds to me that this is just the latest scandal du jour, a totally fabricated story with the sole purpose of being able to drag out the details about Toews affair/divorce in order to cause embarrassment. The original story was bad enough, but Don Martin’s grubby little piece was just way over the top. This guy is an embarrassment – its about time the Post got rid of him.
I think the original article was in the Winnipeg Free Press on Friday or Saturday, followed up by Don Martin on Saturday, and Dan Lett today. Sounds like quite the team effort. I wonder if they were getting their talking points from the same place.

Sounds like a cop-out to me.
So he did it to protect his perception of non-partisanship? Sad and disgusting. I agree with Jad that the Post should send him packing.
If this is the worst the National Press gallery can do then they are scratching the bottom of the barrel. This has been going on for a while and I am sure is not a secret.
If Don Martin believes he represents Western Canada then he has lived in Ottawa too long. Some of these journalists take themselves far too seriously.

Agree Joanne! The Journalists and reporters have become Ottawashed. An extreme example of an Ottawashed MP is Ralph Goodale, he has been through too many heavily soiled cycles.

What they catch gets regurgitated as news columns and broadscat opinion….

According to the Senior Writer for the Star’s Ottawa Bureau, “This was news to me when I first heard it on Friday night,” but then I never did think Delacourt had her finger on the pulse of the nation.

Joanne is this is the level of reporting…it’s a sad day for journalism isn’t it. Just the same ole licence to put in anything they want, one half an ounce of fact and the rest all fabricated or imagined.
Keep on keeping on bloggers….there is need for us out there.
