Dalton McGuinty seems to like going after things that don’t need fixing. For example, right after the election he gave Ontario a holiday nobody asked for.
Then he mused about taking away a prayer which a great number of Ontarians consider a tradition of this province. Apparently, there is a huge outcry against it.
Now he wants to impose a province-wide ban on pesticides, in spite of Health Canada assurances that the products are safe when used properly . He is pandering to the emotional bleating of the environmental extremists without consulting scientists in the field .
On the other hand, when it comes to really important matters that affect Canadians every day, I see little action. People lose jobs and Dalton blames Ottawa .
Can’t find a family doctor? Tough. Need to see a specialist fast? Too bad you’re not a dog .
Oh, I know things went a lot smoother in the last term, but there weren’t so many challenges either. Perhaps all the none-issues are simply a smokescreen that Dalton is using to hide the possibility that he simply doesn’t have a clue.
Wednesday Update: Dalton’s Mom upset by Lord’s prayer plan – Star . Gee, this part has a familiar ring :
…NDP Leader Howard Hampton, meanwhile, suggested the issue was designed to distract Ontarians from more pressing matters like the slowing economy.
Also please read: Economics tops health on pesticides – Star . Do environmentalists really get what this bill is going to do? It’s actually going to put caps on pesticide laws, so that the local laws can’t be made any more stringent . Golf courses will be forever exempt . Are they o.k. with that?

Well, I didn’t vote for this twit.
Wait!
Oh, right…..he got a free pass to the majority that he’s now using to play Uncle Dalton to Ontario.
Pass the beer and popcorn.
It would seem that if a person desired to be Premier of Ontario , that person would also wish to actually show leadership and have the desire to improve the wellbeing of Ontario citizens.
Not so it seems with Liberals. Their only desire as exemplified by McGuinty is power for the sake of power.
McGuinty has been shown to be an exceptionally weak and indecisive leader with no vision other than to pander to special interest groups and make no waves.
Unfortunately being a leader means the one MUST make difficult and often painful decisions which are bound to upset some.
Ontario voters really did get what wanted in a Premier it seems !
Ontario voters really did get what wanted in a Premier it seems !
His handlers successfully used fear as a motivating factor in the election.
Fear or lies, or lies to fear.
One or the other, the people of Ontario fell for it so now they deserve what they get.
Sadly, the majority of people who are complaining now probably also voted for him….gladly.
They got what they deserved. I had a pint with a friend the other day whose wife works for McG and he couldn’t stop saying how much he loved Ontario. They were over the moon with the election results. And I said nothing.
Toronto and Ontario are now in a position where they will not see the light until they have bottomed out.
The more I try to engage people in conversations about politics the less open minded I think they are in these parts.
It really is frusrating as more people in the world seem to be realizing the 60′s are over but in Ontario the beat goes on.
McWitless ….. has the pleasure of seeing the chickens come home to roost.
Unfortunately …. their crapping all over the house!
Every bonehead policy that has been enacted by that LIberal Government has been roundly criticized and properly faulted by reasoned people. Every action and inaction has been clearly shown to be harmful in advance of the decisions and still they go ahead.
This is a person who along with his party has done NOTHING BUT HARM !
Yet … NOT ONE admission of error or mea culpa from the arrogant fools.
Why did they get elected? Because they call themselves LIberals. No other reason …. the sheeple followed the dog …. just because it looked like the dog they’re trained to follow.
I just saw a clip of McGuinty doing his usual saying nothing about something and I have to tell you the guy looks physically stressed out. Black circles under eyes, hair not the usual boyish, trend-setting locks of three years ago, 5 o’clock shadow…..kind of creepy in an Alan Bates kind of way. Not at all flattering on the clip I saw on CityPulse at noon.
Must be all of the hard work.
Sol, I think this economy is his worst nightmare.
I just wanna know what he’s gonna ban next…….
We should start calling him Dalton McNanny.
McGuinty is on the wrong side of almost every major issue : missing in action at Caledonia , Ipperwash and now Deseronto , more money for the already out of control OHRC (Ontario Human Rights Commission), electric power generation , Ontario competitiveness with regard to his business-unfriendly legislation , a downturn in the economy pending with the affects of the sub-prime mortgage mess in the US about to impact exports to the US , gas prices and his “green” approach , subsidizing ethanol … just to list a few.
Dalton is going to wear many of these issue as did Bob Rae … couldn’t happen to a better candidate !
